Brand Ambassador Inspiration - CASE Myself

This is a second special Birthday-surprise for Bev!

Today it's on me to join into the fun of the CASE myself event on the Uniko Blog!
There's a difference to the other participating crafters - they are all Alumni Team Members who just came back to celebrate the 10th Birthday of Uniko with Bev, the team and all customers...
But I am still an active member! During the next days you will see what I'm talking about... the February Release is coming closer - just a few days left until the Sneak Peek and Introducing Days will start!
😀

Beverley released her very first stencil designs in autumn 2017.
I was so honoured when Bev asked me to join a small team with a focus on stencils! Sure I wanted!
During the years I had some Guest Designer postings, but wasn't a permanent member of any team before!
On February, 17th 2018 Bev introduced our new Stencil Design Team on the Uniko Blog
- Sarah Gray, Julie Beech, Linda Walmsley and me.

But first let's return to the CASE myself event!
Is there anything closer than using my very first contribution I made as fresh team member of the Stencil Design Team and CASE it?
Definitly not!

This is the card I used as CASE inspiration:

KomMa-designed_K1-907
K1-907 - fly by balloons

I made three new cards.

For the first one I used the Equalizer block Stencil, The English Country Garden Butterflies Stamps and Dies and a sentiment of the Anniversaire Arts Décoratives set.
Here I've used the layout and the colours of the balloon card. I also took the three different colours of the balloons to the butterflies. The background isn't embossed here, but the front of the butterflies and the sentiment are. The butterflies are adhered one side flat, the other one with a mix of 1 mm and 2 mm dimensional pads.

KomMa-designed_K1-1561_#2
K1-1561 - Birthday Butterflies

The second one is made with the Honeycomb Pattern Stencil and the Bee happy and Simply Said Blocks II.
Here I've used the layout, but different colours. Again I intensified the colours from top to bottom. The three bees are identical, but (like balloons in the wind) they fly in different directions. The sentiment isn't on a banner this time, but it has a black background like in the original card.

KomMa-designed_K1-1560_#1
K1-1560 - Bee Wishes

And the third one is in the background like the one before, but I changed the sentiment to one of Floral Vines and the bees to "the one" of Mid Century Modern Florals.
Maybe you can remember, where you have seen these bees before?
If not, hop here or here and you will find my funny special own bee-creations - it's like a second act of CASEing myself.
The little rings and dots give an optical kind of black background for the sentiment, but with a lighter, less bold look.

Uniko 10th Birthday Celebrations - Introducing Alumni CASE Yourself

Welcome to Day 2 of Uniko's 10th Birthday Celebrations 🎉

Today I am introducing a fun feature we have this month here on the blog. If you are a long standing fan and follower of Uniko, you will know that Uniko has been honoured to have so many talented crafters as part of the team over the years.

With it being a milestone birthday I have called upon a few of the Uniko Alumni to join in on the celebrations with a fun feature. They will be appearing here on the blog this month in-between quests up until our traditional countdown to release day. Each of the Alumni have been given the task of choosing a favourite make from their time on the team (a task in itself) and then to CASE it using a newer product.

I couldn't resist joining in the fun myself 😉 so I am kicking things off! So, what card have I chosen to CASE? This for me was the hardest task, but after looking through Uniko's first year I went back to the beginning and decided to CASE one of my very first cards I made using Uniko clear stamps...

Hands up, who remembers Today, Tomorrow & Always Time and Today, Tomorrow & Always Extra Time? These were Uniko's two debuting clear stamp sets in 2012 and I combined them onto this card.

Now here is how I CASE'd myself...

As you can see I pretty much kept the card layout, stamping layout and colours the same. Not my usual colours for a floral card, but I think the loopy florals from Kindness Blooms lend themselves to a non traditional twist like this.

In place of the clocking in card on the original card I knew a Background Block design would be perfect, choosing one of the 22 current designs wasn't easy. Background Blocks Solid Wonky Stripes won in the end!

My question to you is, what Uniko products would you have chosen to CASE my card? I'd love to know and if you decide to make and CASE, I'd love to see 😊

That's all I have to share today and I hope you enjoy this feature this month. If you missed the start of the celebrations, you can catch up HERE

Uniko Sponsors TIME OUT Challenges!

Hey & Happy Thursday!

Yay, finally a 'me' day and a day to catch up on things. It's been a whirlwind of a few weeks here at Uniko and it won't be slowing down anytime soon. There is a new release just around the corner, another release planned for October AND lots of restocks coming too!

Anyway, back to today... I am super happy and proud to announce that Uniko is sponsoring the new challenge HERE over at TIME OUT Challenges. This fortnight is a CASE (copy & share everything) Challenge AND I am your muse!

As usual there is a prize up for grabs if you join in on the challenge over HERE, the winner will get a £15 eGift Certificate to spend in store.

Here is the card I made for you to CASE and be inspired by...

I decided to join in on the fun and CASE myself and came up with this card...

I knew I wanted to use stripes and the Lily from Pure Florals: Lily, but I wasn't in a rainbow mood, so I opted to use Background Blocks Horizontal Stipe and chose Aqua, one of my favourite colours from the rainbow on my CASE card.

I opted for a one layer card this time, stamping the block of stripes directly onto my base card. I used my MISTI tool, so I could repeat stamp it until I had a nice solid colour. The Lily is then stamped over the top using VersaFine, as is the sentiment also from Pure Florals: Lily.

That's all from me just now, but if you need some more inspiration, the TIME OUT Design Team have worked their magic and have LOADS of inspiration over HERE for you. You can also find the link up to the challenge there too.

You have until 5pm BST Wednesday 13th September to join in on the fun. I look forward to seeing you in the gallery!

Winner & A Card...

Hey & Happy Monday!

I do hope your week has got off to a good start? Mine started a little wobbly with a sleepless night and snotty beans, but all turned out to be an OK kinda day - phew! Anyway, someone's week is going to be improved considerably (I hope) as I am here to announce the winner of the January 2017 Design Team Blog Hop and GIVEAWAY!

Thank you to everyone who hopped along and left such lovely comments. Random.org has helped me pick the winner from all the comments left...

And the lucky comment was left by...

Beautiful card :) love the flower design and colors used. Thanks for sharing!
Cheers
preety

Congratulations Preety! Please send me an email to bev@uniko.co.uk by Monday 30th January 2017 along with your postal address. I can then get your prize on its way to you.

How about a card before I go...

This card was inspired by a challenge I came across by joining in on the current TIME OUT Challenge HERE. The current Guest Designer at TO and person they are CASEing is Ksenija from Sweet Kobylkin. Ksenija happens to be running a Chasing Mojo challenge HERE, which is to CASE a card in the gallery on the post or someone else in blogland.

I chose THIS card by Victoria Shipunova. I was first drawn to the swirly floral stamped image framing the sentiment. I was inspired to recreate this using Uniko clear stamps Originally Organic in particular and then the vibrancy of the colours.

Way back in October at the Happy Stampers Festival, I did a little retail therapy as well as running the Uniko stand, its got to be done, right...? ;) I purchased a few more Zig Clean Colour Brush Pens to go with the little quartet I already owned. Shamefully (hangs head), I've not got round to opening them, let alone using them. So, with the lovely Darnell inspiring blogland to use their NBUS, I am joining with NBUS #9

This time I used new stuff on my card and one of the optional themes CASEing. I do plan on having a go at the other optional theme of the NBUS challenge which Deborah also inspired me to have a go at HERE, the hidden message. So, all being well I will have more to share later in the week :)

Until then, thank you for stopping by.
Hugs

TIME OUT Challenges - CASE with your own twist

Hey!

It's time for the next challenge over at TIME OUT Challenges. This fortnight is a CASE challenge, with your own twist. This month we have an awesome muse, Alice from Alice's {Little} Wonderland and this is the FABULOUS creation we are CASEing...

Here's my take...

I was mainly inspired by the layout of Alice's card and also the cute little cactus Alice used, but as I don't own any type of stamp that is or resembles a cactus I opted for my Uniko Rustic Christmas Tree instead. It is kinda prickly, right?

Instead of layering washi tape/papers and fussy cutting out the tree I simply stamp the Grunge Grid from SU! in Crumb Cake ink also from SU! onto my card base, but I stamped it off lightly first so the colour didn't come out too dark. I then over stamped the Rustic tree in Hint of Pesto VersaMagic ink.

I did however fussy cut out a tiny red bird from the same set and just adhered it to the card using double sided tape, but having it cut out just added a bit more dimension than just stamping it onto the card. It also replicates the red flower on Alice's cactus. The sentiment is also from the set and the set will be back in stock this weekend, along with some highly requested sets!

Ok, that's all from me today, but there is much more inspiration over at TIME OUT Challenges. This fortnight we have a lovely guest designer joining us, Rema, be sure to stop by Rema's Blog HERE to see how she was inspired by the photo and of course the FABulous TIME OUT Challenges Design Team...

For all the info and to link up your challenge be sure to stop by the TIME OUT Challenges blog. I look forward to seeing your creations :) I'll be back soon with more to share, until then, thank you for stopping by today.

TIME OUT Challenges - CASE With Your Own Twist

Hey!

It's time for the next challenge over at TIME OUT Challenges. This fortnight is a CASE challenge, with your own twist. This month we have an awesome muse, Deepti from Dee's Art Utopia.

Along with having an awesome muse to CASE, Deepti is giving an awesome prize away for this challenge. You may or may not know that Deepti has designed her first stamp set and it is for sale HERE through Stamplorations. Though you have the chance to WIN a set by joining in on the challenge :)

Here is Deepti's card we are CASEing...

And here how I was inspired...

I used a combination of Uniko Studio stamps to create this card, Background Builders: Squared (back in stock soon), Flower Power #2 and #6 and Background Builders: Vines. I was inspired by the checked section at the top of Deepti's card, the flowers and the colours.

Here is a closer look at the stamped squares and detail I added using a tiny flower from Background Builders: Vines...

Ok, that's all from me today, but there is much more inspiration over at TIME OUT Challenges. This fortnight we have a lovely guest designer joining us, Maura, be sure to stop by Maura s Splitcoast Stampers Page HERE to see how she was inspired by the photo and of course the FABulous TIME OUT Challenges Design Team...

For all the info and to link up your challenge be sure to stop by the TIME OUT Challenges blog. I look forward to seeing your creations :) I'll be back soon with more to share, until then, thank you for stopping by today.

TIME OUT Challenges - CASE with your own twist

* This is my first post for the day, please pop by at 9am for the first February Release Sneak Peeks*

Hey!

It's time for the next challenge over at TIME OUT Challenges! This fortnight is a CASE challenge, with your own twist. This month we have an awesome muse who many in blogland might already know...

This is Kylie's Fabulous card to CASE...

Here is my CASE with a twist...

As you can see I was inspired by the tag, flowers and the colours of the flowers, but I decided to twist it up by using a Smokey Slate card base instead of the white on white & texture Kylie has used. I decided to keep my card sentiment free too, then it can be used for any occasion that may arise.

Ok, that's all from me today, but there is much more inspiration over at TIME OUT Challenges. This fortnight we have a lovely guest designer joining us, Sarah from the Uniko Studio Design Team - YAY!, be sure to stop by Sarah's blog Sazzle Dazzle Crafts to see how she was inspired by the photo and of course the FABulous TIME OUT Challenges Design Team...

TIME OUT Challenges - CASE with your own twist

Hey!

I'm back today with the 8th TIME OUT Challenge and this time it's a CASE challenge. The aim of this challenge is to use the designer inspiration card & CASE it adding your own twist.

This month we have a super duper talented paper crafting expert for you to CASE... Donna from Three Umbrellas and this is the inspiration card...

And this is my take on the inspiration...

I was inspired firstly by the gradient of colours Donna has used and replicated the colours stamping the lattice design across a panel of white CS. The lattice was also the closest match I have to anything hexagonal!

As you can see in this close up photo I was also inspired by the gold embossing, butterfly & hearts and replicated this too :)

This fortnight we have a lovely guest designer joining us, Marzena, be sure to stop by Marzena's blog HERE to see how she was inspired by the photo and of course the FABulous TIME OUT Challenges Design Team...

For all the info and to link up your challenge be sure to stop by the TIME OUT Challenges blog. I look forward to seeing your creations :) I'll be back tomorrow with more to share, until then, thank you for stopping by today.

TIME OUT challenge - CASE with your own twist!

Hey!

Apologies for leaving you hanging yesterday, my get up an go seemed to have got up and left, therefore it resulted in me not having a lot of energy to sit and craft.

Anyway, I'm back today with the 4th TIME OUT Challenge and this time it's a CASE challenge. The aim of this challenge is to use the designer inspiration card & CASE it adding your own twist.

This month we have a super duper talented paper crafting expert for you to CASE... Virginia from Yes Virginia and this is the inspiration card...

And this is how I was inspired...

I took inspiration from the overall layout of Virginia's card as it is aesthetically pleasing to the eye and overall CAS. I like the single focal element & twine detail and decided to place my twine under the heart motif.

As I'm not a huge fan of using patterned paper I decided to stamp my strip of pattern in VersaMark & heat emboss it in white. Which is what I did for the sentiment too.

I was also inspired by the colours Virginia used but scaled down the intensity and kept them a softer shade. All the supplies for this card are listed below and I hope I have given you some inspiration to join in on the challenge.

For all the challenge details pop on over HERE and be wowed by all the TIME OUT Design Team inspiration too!

That's all from me today, I sure hope you will join in on the challenge & I look forward to seeing your creations. Until next time, thank you for stopping by today :)
