Tennstopet

Tennstopet Tennstopet
A classic Stockholm building from 1900. The architects were Ulrich & Hallquisth. The legendary restaurant Tennstopet first opened at Klara in 1867. It was very popular with authors and journalists. Then, in the mid 1960s, when many buildings at Klara were demolished, Tennstopet moved to its current location at Dalagatan in Vasastan, close to the Odenplan metro and commuter train station. This is a 15 photo panorama. Shot with the Canon 77D, using the Canon 60mm lens, and to show you how I work, the second photo is the fifteenth photo in the panorama. If you look closely, you can see that some of the people in the second photo are missing from the final panorama, that is because they were moving, and the stitching software identified that.

Hungry?

Hungry?
There are several restaurants in this area that always make me hungry. This is not one of them. But it is open for business, and a lot of people use it, so I guess they must do something right. Either that, or the truckers at this industrial park don't know about those other places.

What about Mexican?

What about Mexican?
What about Mexican? Well, it is Sunday, so maybe not tonight. But, and you probably didn't know this about Sweden. A lot of people over here have a Taco Friday. I used to have that with my brother and mother for a number of years. It was mostly my brother's fault as he often ate out with colleagues and got the taste for Mexican food. In the country as a whole, it started back in the 1990s. You can read an article about it here if you like. Anyway, this is a Mexican restaurant at Vasastan in Stockholm.

The outdoor seating area at the Irish bar The Iron in Nynäshamn looks to be closed. At least when walked by there a while back.

Social distancing at Restaurang Horsfjärden

Restaurang Horsfjärden
A weekend visit to the beach at Årsta Havsbad. This was the scene up at the square as I left the area on Saturday. A few people enjoying a bite to eat and drink while keeping the correct distance to other guests.

A Moment in Time

A Moment in Time

Just like thousands of photographers around the world I lifted my camera on May 2, at 15:00 (U.T.C./G.M.T. And this is what my Canon registered at that moment in time. Meet Esa, Håkan, Peter, Ann, Anders, Åke, Tommy and Eva. Also in the photo is Asterix the dog. They were all sitting at the semi-sunny veranda at a restaurant in Tungelsta. I got there just in time to tell them about the project, and ask them if they wanted to be a part of it. They all said yes, so when I looked at the clock and told them it was time, they all raised their glasses to celebrate their involvement in The New York Times project A Moment in Time.

1881

1881

This is Skärgårdskrogen at Dalarö, established back in 1881. I had a pizza and a glass of milk after a long and very sweaty bike ride from Tungelsta. We are expecting rain for the biggest of all swedish weekends, Midsummer, so I give you this photo from my visit last year. Most buildings here are old and wooden and very beautiful. There's a regatta here later in the summer that I will not miss. And this is a great place to come and party during the summer months, for the whole family.
