A double rainbow
The sky was getting very dark as I made my way to the old tree yesterday. As I took a few photos of the Swedish Whitebeam it started raining, so I put the camera back in the bag, put on my raincoat, jumped on the bike and started pedalling for home. As I reached the road I looked to the right and spotted a double rainbow. Or at least half of it so I continued maybe 30 meters, stopped and reached for the Canon. As I started shooting the horse ran into the frame. Skywatch Friday.

Vattenspegling
The sunny days from last week have been replaced with a lot of dark skies. This was the nature park in Handen yesterday. Vattenspegling means Water reflection. Skywatch Friday.

Floral Roundabout
The municipality is spending some extra money on floral arrangements. At the moment two roundabouts in Handen are slowly coming alive with color from red and yellow tulips. Skywatch Friday.

Bark at the Moon
Arriving home yesterday I noticed the full moon behind the trees on the hill at Bergdalen and was reminded of that Ozzy Osbourne cover from thirty years ago. It was late in the afternoon and it was getting dark, the temperature was around -10C.

Red and probably delicious
Once upon a time this apple tree stood in a garden at Bäckvägen in Tungelsta. I'm sure the owners have made both apple pie and cider from the apples over the years. Then came a letter explaining that the land they lived on was needed for the construction of a new bridge. So they moved out. All that is left of this property today are two apple trees. Summer Ends
This was the sky at Lower Lake Rudan yesterday. Summer clouds and a blue sky. I stopped by the cafe and it was nice to sit outside enjoying a mug of coffee and some conversation. Today it is another story. Autumn arrived with grey skies, strong winds and non-stop rain.

Summer Lake
Back at Little Lake in Jordbro for a few photos. Not that many people know about the lake. For many months of the year it is hard to see it through the forest. For Skywatch Friday.

View From the Jetty
I waked out onto a jetty at one of the lakes at the Rudan nature reserve and sat down for a few minutes. Normally you would find a few fishers here or a bunch of sunbathers but on this visit I had the jetty for myself.

Mr. Big Ears
This is Mr. Big Ears. He lives in a tree. Sometimes when Mr. Big Ears is hungry he will visit my yard for a chance of some tasty bird food. Sadly on this visit there was no food available.

Under wraps
One of two apartment buildings currently being constructed at Poseidon's Square in central Handen. I took a photo here one year ago. Back then all you could see of this project was a big crane.

Two coots heading my way
Two snaps from a recent visit to the nature park Slätmossen in Handen. It was a beautiful day and as I was shooting this familiar scene the two coots decided to check me out. Skywatch Friday.

Stuck on the Wire
It's been more than a week since I last saw a blue sky. Or the sun. Noticed this leaf from the bike a while back. Below it was a fence that was filled with autumn leaves.

That Old Tree
With the arrival of spring we have had a few stormy days followed by a few very warm days. On the news this evening the meteorologist talked about temperature records left and right. When I walked down the path to the old tree it was around 15C.

Winter VS. Spring
Two views of the Mulsta Länsmansboställe and the two magnificent trees that makes the entrance a bit special. Mulsta is an old village in Tungelsta. Länsmansboställe is a very old word that translated to English means something like the place where the Vassal lived. And for centuries this was where the local police lived. The old building was destroyed in a fire, and the one you see to the right here was built in 1893. I shot the winter photo two days ago and the spring view is from May of last year.

A Swedish Sky
Skywatch Friday.
Heading home one afternoon a while back I stopped at a roundabout because of the traffic, (I was on my bike), so while I was waiting I decided to aim my camera towards the sky.

Blood Red Sky
The days are very short now. And the sky has been grey for a few weeks. But we did actually have a few hours of a blueish sky yesterday, so hurrah for that. I took this photo at four in the afternoon a couple of day ago. This really isn't my favorite time of the year.
