Available seating
Another Winter promenade in Tungelsta. I have a thing for benches. And an even bigger thing for snow covered benches.

Winter
Benches at Nederstaleden in Västerhaninge. I have been known to stop here while out on long bike rides. Kind of close to home, but still a good place to relax for a few minutes. But maybe not right now.

Vinterbänk
Winter is here to stay. Snow everywhere during my walk today. This is a bench in the park in Tungelsta. As I took the photo, I was reminded about of the time when I sat down on this actual bench during the rock festival held here every Summer. There was a guy sitting next to me. He was enjoying the music, and we started to talk. After a few minutes of chit-chat he gave me a funny look, like he knew who I was, and that's when I realized that I had known him since we were teenagers. We were also classmates in secondary school. Sorry about that, Per, but people can change quite a lot if you don't see them that often.

Unavailable Seating
Cycling towards Stockholm a couple of days ago, I stopped at the new circular pier at Lake Drevviken, near Perstorpsvägen. Normally I would make a pit stop further up, at the Hökarängen beach. But since discovering this area, I sometimes stop here. Last time I was here was when I showed you a few ice skaters out on the then frozen lake. The temperature has gone up and down in the last few weeks, and we have also experienced some serious rain showers. So the water level at Drevviken is high at the moment, as proved by the photo of this bench.

Taking a breather
Two photos from Norrmalm. Taken on both sides of the busy Klarabergsgatan where a modern tram transports commuters these days. Top photo. A couple enjoying what looks like a spicy lunch on the benches in front of the Hötorgsskraporna that I showed you a few months ago. And on the other side of the street closer to Sergels Torg and Drottninggatan, two guys on a similar bench reading up on their social media sites, or just doomscrolling the news.

Constellations
The UNESCO World Heritage Site, Skogskyrkogården, the big cemetery at Enskede was designed a century ago by the two young architects, Asplund and Lewerentz. They even designed the stools and the benches, and now one hundred years later this is the new updated bench. Called Constellations. Designed by studio näv and constructed by Artek. Looks like they used cork. I didn't try the bench, as it was a little too cold for that. This one can be found at The Meditation Hill. Snapped with my new Canon R, using the Viltrox 85mm lens.

The picnic table
Here is a fun trick I use now and then when I'm out with my full frame Canon, and a good enough lens, in this case the Sigma 50 mm f/1.4. This is the same place as in yesterday's post, the lower lake at Rudan. This spot is popular with anglers, and they often use the picnic table when they take a break from the fishing. Back to the trick. I shot this at f/1.4 to get the shallow depth of field. After taking a first photo aiming at the table, I turned off the AF and took three more photos to get a wider view. I then stitched the photos together, and the result is a bokeh panorama.

A bench for mere mortals
If you were to rest on this bench at Häringe castle you could sit there and look at the intimate moment between the Satyr and the Menad just in front of the little pond where the birds hang out.

Rumpbänk
Very new word of the day/year. Might even originate from Haninge for all I know. Rumpbänk. Butt-bench. Been there for a couple of weeks. You can rest here for a minute or so before continuing your walk around the lower lake. The municipality is busy setting up lampposts along the popular promenade to make it more safe.

Stängt mellan hägg och syren
"Closed Between Bird Cherry and Lilac". A saying first uttered, or written down by a cordwainer that closed shop this time of the year many moons ago. It is a period of about two weeks in the middle of May when everything blooms. It is many peoples favorite time of the year in this country, me included. I found this bench along a historical promenade with info about "Old Årsta" close to Årsta slott in rural Österhaninge

Two new benches
Who wouldn't wanna sit here and enjoy the view? As seen along the walkway between Krigslida and Västerhaninge earlier in the week.
