G5 TETAP AKAN PERTAHANKAN MAS GADING PADA PRU KE 13

-MEREKA AKAN MENCADANG NAMA PENYANDANG KERUSI TERSEBUT IAITU DATO' TIKI LAFE KEPADA BN PUSAT KERANA BELIAU ADALAH "WINNABLE CANDICATE"-

Peter Nansian Ngusie bersama  Dr Tiki Lafe, Sylvester Entri,
Rosey Yunus & Paulus Palu Gumbang

MAKE WAY, SPDP IS EAGER TO RUMBLE

-ALL ITS FOUR WINGS IS CERTAIN & CONFIDENT SPDP WILL ABLE TO DEFEND ALL ITS FOUR PARLIAMENTARY SEATS IN THE NEXT ELECTION DESPITE THE "INTERNAL PROBLEM" CURRENTLY FACED BY THE PARTY-

THE four respective Wings of the Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP) comprising of; Iit's Woman Wing, Puteri, Pemuda (Youth) and Putera are certain that SPDP will enable to defend all four of it's Parliamentary constituencies in the forthcoming 13th General Elections.

Speaking to reporters yesterday, SPDP Puteri Chief Cr. Barbara William Mawan said they are very confident that the people will continue to support SPDP and Barisan Nasional (BN), in general, based on the performances in all four Parliamentary constituencies during the past five years.

Despite of being confident, Barbara pointed out that they (SPDP) never felt too complacent but instead, had taken the initiative of exploring and finding new ways and approaches, reaching out to the people, especially the young generations at the grass-root level.

She said that they came up with a brilliant "masterplan", just to meet that purposes (of getting closer to the youths) however, she declined to elaborate and disclose the details of their the so-called "masterplan" because it is too premature for her to do so as it will ruin all of the element of surprises packed in the programmes.

Barbara however, gave her assurance on one thing for sure is that the programmes will be packed with various interesting fun activities and events for the people, particularly for the youngsters.

She was met at a press conference after the meeting which was attended by all of the four SPDP wings' Excos including representatives from all even SPDP's divisions in Sarawak at the SPDP headquarters at Jalan Badruddin near the city here yesterday afternoon.

She disclosed that the "masterplan" was among the main topic discussed during the two-hour meeting earlier and they had concluded that they would be emphasize more in reaching out to the youngsters, explaining to them first-hand on the development and benefits delivered by the government to the people all this while.

"For the first venue of the programme, we would start-off at Mas Gading before going to the other three SPDP's constituencies and these programmes are scheduled to start-off in this month," she added.

"Yes, I am very confident that SPDP can defend all of its four Parliamentary Seats in the next Election," said Barbara quickly in response to a question posed by a reporter whether SPDP can maintained their four Parliamentary seats despite having some "internal problems" currently faced by the party.

The three other SPDP's Parliamentary areas are Bintulu-Datuk Tiong King Sing, Baram-Jacob Dungau Sagan and Saratok-Jelaing Mersat, all incumbents were said and heavily speculated that they would be renominated as the candidates for the forthcoming election.

SPDP however, is expected to field a new face as their candidate for Mas Gading Parliamentary seat to face its incumbent and also former SPDP vice president Datuk Tiki Lafe who was sacked from the party last year and presently was said in the process of  establishing a BN Club with fours other former SPDP members.

Also present at the press conference were SPDP Woman Deputy Chief Teresa Udam, SPDP Youth Chief Cr. Robert Ayu, SPDP Putra Chief Tony Chen, former SPDP secretary general Nelson Balang and all the distinguished representatives from all seven SPDP divisions.

PS: Pointing out that although many quarters might think or underestimate that they (SPDP) as "weak or even underdogs" as the election dateline closes nearer to the election dateline, Barbara  warned those who thought the less of them as all the SPDP members are even more determine  to be united as one wholly strength and spirit, thus they does not fear other, especially those who might be planning to encroach in SPDP/BN's turfs and would defend their constituencies at all cost or whatever means necessary. Those attended the meeting yesterday also pledged as one entity giving full support on whoever chosen as candidates by their President Tan Sri Datuk Seri William Mawan.

Congrats to SPDP for displaying the true fighting spirit and I personally believe and almost quite certain that the other Sarawak BN component parties would indeed give their support to you, which is the one and only righteous thing to do, for the sake of their fellow BN counterparts.

CANNOT ENTER STATE BN WITHOUT CONSENSUS

-IF EITHER ONE OF THE FOUR PRESENCE BN COMPONENT PARTIES REJECTS THE APPLICATION, THERE WILL BE NO SLOT FOR THE NEW PARTY IN STATE BN-

DEPUTY Speaker of Parliament Datuk Dr Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar was in the same point of view as Chief Minister Pehin Seri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud regarding on the plan by the so-called SPDP5 or G5 of forming a new BN component party in Sarawak.

“If I’m not mistaken, all acceptance to be Sarawak BN component party will have to by consensus by all the presence four BN component parties (PBB, PRS, SPDP & SUPP) and if either one of them rejects the application, the new party will have no slot in the BN’s fold.”

Junaidi, who is also Member of Parliament for Santubong was earlier asked on the SDPD5’s status in Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties if should they decide to form the new party.

“On the other hand, the so-called SPDP5 or G5 can form a new political party as it is their right to do so as Malaysia is a democratic country and people’s rights are guaranteed by constitution and anyone can form a political party and this include them,” he said.

“The only problem is will the other BN component parties accept them as that may cause a little difficulties if SPDP objects however, the five are BN supporters and it would be for BN interest to ensure they are with BN. It would be up to BN leadership to balance the interest to everyone.”

Junaidi, who had just arrived in Kuala Lumpur after a week of visiting the West Asia was contacted through the telephone by UnReportedNews™® yesterday.

A NEW BN COMPONENT PARTY IN SARAWAK IS A BIG NO-NO

SPDP5 HAVE TO GET CONSENSUS FROM ALL THE BN COMPONENT PARTIES IN SARAWAK TO ENABLE THEM TO BE ACCEPTED AS ANOTHER COMPONENT IN BN

CHIEF Minister Pehin Seri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud seems to be against the idea of the so-called SPDP5 of forming a new component BN party in Sarawak.

“It is not a very good idea for them (the so-called SPDP5) to form a new party as they would have many “hurdles” to overcome should they continue their intention to do so.”

“In order to form a new BN component party in Sarawak, they (SPDP5) needs to get consensus from all the State BN component parties to enable them to be accepted as another component party of BN which is a quite a bit of hurdle so it’s better not to do so.”

Saying that the SPDP5 and their supporters are very loyal to BN which was why in desperation they had formed the BN Club to show they are still loyal to BN, Taib, who is also Sarawak BN Chairman pointed out that, it is something that should be appreciated as a show of good faith and loyalty.

He added that, it did not matter whether  the BN club was a non-political movement as long as there was a rallying point and if you want to keep your unity, you can use any forum you want, provided you are motivated by quite a laudable objective and the objective is to show support for the BN, to participate in BN and to continue serving the people who have elected you (member of SPDP5).”

To a question whether if he agrees to the idea that the SPDP5 need to have some kind of political platform, the Chief Minister said, “Well, they have been elected legitimately through the party’s machinery.”

“Their followers seems to say, “why not stick with that and we will still recognise them as our leaders,” said Taib adding that if they want to be like that, let them be, give them time to probably to find the way to reconcile.

“I think that is not completely impossible. I think it is too much to leave the five YBs alone as they had just been elected. On the other hand, with only two YBs left, that is not a good position for any party,” he added.

There had been speculations for the past few days that a new party would be formed to accommodate the former SPDP representatives before the 13th General Election.

According to some reports, a new party called Party Tenaga Rakyat Sarawak (TERAS) had recently submitted its application to the Registrar of Societies (ROS) for registration but to UnReportedNews™® understanding, the idea of setting the new BN component party came from an extreme group of supporters of the YBs who seems doesn’t fully understands the Sarawak BN  component parties' constitution and they doesn’t realises the “dangerous circumstances” they actually poses for the five YBs.

It not a sort of game my friend, that you can just “reset” if you are cornered or in a bad situation, it’s the YBs’ future and future people’s in their respective  constituencies. So don't play-play.

WHO ACTUALLY POSES AS A THREAT TO BN?

ALL OF US, THE SO-CALLED G5, REST ASSURED, WE SHALL ALWAYS BE WITH BN & FULLY SUPPORT BN TO REMAIN STRONG ALL THE TIMES TO SERVE THE "RAKYAT" TO THE BEST OF OUR ABILITY

OR

After coincidentally "bumping" into Datuk Sylvester Entri who was one of among the distinguished invited guests to attend the official opening and launching ceremony of JEJAK 2012 and the Sixth Sarawak Bumiputera Economic Congress by Chief Minister Pehin Seri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud at one of the leading hotel near the city here on last Tuesday, UnReportedNews™®, received another email from the honourable Datuk Entri and his associates and asked to be published at UnReportedNews™®. The email said:

We, the G5 has made our stand clear to sink and swim with Barisan Nasional (BN), serve as  BN Wakil Rakyat, as required of us. We resort to forming the BN Club as a platform to serve the rakyat and as loyal BN supporters. Despite of what he has said, we are staunch BN supporters and there was never any attempts or action on out part aiming at disrupting the harmony in BN.

On what ground can Tan Sri William Mawan and  SPDP imply that  we are  threat to BN? We  are "piggy riding" on BN (please click here) because we are BN representatives, why would it be otherwise? Negative politicking? What is that? We go to the ground because it is our duty to give service to our constituents and to explain to the rakyat on what is happening. The rakyat deserve to know the situation and make their own judgement.

In the last state election, SPDP lost two important seats, that of it's Deputy President and the Secretary General's constituents, both of  which, were  BN stronghold seats. And when that is not enough, Mawan further sacked another five BN Wakil Rakyat from SPDP and now calling the G5 to vacate our seats and our respective positions in BN and BN government!

In a span of hardly a year he has thrown away two BN State seats and thrown away another five BN Wakil Rakyat from his party leaving only two State seats in SPDP! Are all these not enough evidences to show who is really a threat to BN and doing negative politicking?

Lately, Mawan came to mess around in Mas Gading, a BN stronghold seat. His action seems to aim at creating disunity among  the Bidayuh compounded by the fact that  he kept on giving conflicting statements on the candidates for the coming parliamentary election.

The Bidayuh had to hold a "unity dinner" on 26 February 2012 in Bau in order to  rectify the damages created by him. It is learnt that Mawan is going to reciprocate the gesture by organising a dinner in Bau as well. What would  he think the Bidayuh will do if he keeps on undermining a BN stronghold? Isn't that an attempt  to weaken BN and seemingly pose a threat to BN ?

Mawan in his many past statements also appears to be prematurely bent on saying and preventing the incumbent MP for Mas Gading YB Datuk Dr Tiki not to be renominated for Mas Gading in the coming Parliamentary Election in Sarawak.

Firstly, is this also not an attempt to weaken an incumbent BN Wakil Rakyat and thereby BN? Secondly, is this not a case of overbearing Medicine Man to say the least? Normally, a good Medicine Man would only concentrate on selling and saying how good  his medicine is and not badmouth or attempt to stop other Medicine Man to sell their  medicine. This is because, the decision to buy which medicine rest in the hands of the buyer.

Likewise, in Mas Gading he is free to promote his own proposed candidates and should not be so engrossed on trying to stop Tiki from being renominated for the upcoming Parliamentary Election. After all, anyone can propose a candidate but only the top BN leaderships make the final decision with regards to BN candidates. So why is there so much ado about nothing?

SPDP current focus on trying all out not to get Tiki to be renominated for Mas Gading and their attempt to get the G5 to vacate their positions in the BN Government is a ferocious  attempt to weaken BN. At the same time, they are  trying to shift the blame to other people for their misgivings.Nevertheless, as far as we the G5 are concern, there shall be no doubt that we shall remain staunch BN men. We shall support whoever is the BN candidate nominated for the coming Parliamentary Election in Mas Gading and we expect SPDP to do the same.

As for us, the so-called G5, rest assured, we shall always be with BN and fully support BN to remain strong at all times and to serve the rakyat to the best of our ability. Our fate rest squarely in the hands of BN and we will not be distracted by the noise from SPDP.

Signed by YB Datuk Peter Nansian, YB Datuk Sylvester Entri Muran, YB Rosey Yunus & YB Paulus Paul Gumbang-End of email.

WHO ARE ACTUALLY "PIGGY-RIDING" BN?, QUESTIONED ENTRI

WE WERE (STILL) ENTRUSTED BY THE BN LEADERSHIP & WHY SHOULD SPDP BRING UP THE (BN "PIGGY-RIDING") ISSUE AGAINST US IF SDPD (THEMSELVES) DOES NOT CONDONE NEGATIVE POLITICKING WITHIN

UnReportedNews™® received an email from a close associate to Datuk Sylvester Entri late yesterday evening containing the text-speech which Entri had delivered through his speech during the launching of Saberkas Unit Nabor, Marudi Branch and officiating ceremony of opening the Sungai Entulang Road near Rumah Justine Manai, Sungai Entulang, Bakong on last March 3rd and requested for the speech to be published in UnReportedNews™®.  The email said:

Entri took to task on the allegations by SPDP President against the G5 or SPDP5 of negative politicking at the expense of serving their constituents and such allegations had attracted some of the SPDP Divisions to support the President's remarks to the extent of making it as one of the most important agenda in their Divisional meetings and made a resolution out of it to sack the G5 from the Barisan Nasional (BN) by relingushing their positions in the government or GLCs as they were  piggy-riding on BN.

In his speech at the function at Rumah Justine, Sungai Entulang, Bakong, Entri had also questioned such allegations of negative politicking by SPDP against the G5 as actually in fact pointing fingers on themselves.

The G5 had never made any negative politickings against SPDP while serving their constituents as all along, their movements in their constituencies were in tandem with the spirit and principles of BN in discharging their duties and responsibilities entrusted to them by the BN Government under the leaderships of the Chief Minister of the State Government and the Prime Minister of the Federal Government.

So what sort of piggy-riding on BN are we? he said adding that under these circumstances, how could G5 were accused of piggy-riding on BN as we were entrusted by the BN leaderships and why should SPDP bring up the issue against us if SPDP does not condone negative politickings within BN.

“Our positions in the Government are for us to serve the constituents and the people of Sarawak as well but not because of self-interests as alleged by SPDP. Why SPDP was so adamant to question our positions in the government and GLC, would it mean that they also want the positions in the government by positioning themselves in SPDP and undermining us?”

“Could it mean also that they want positions in SPDP because they also want piggy-riding” in BN?,” said Entri and quoted few instances where SPDP themselves had allegedly conducted negative politickings against BN elected representatives.

“One instance was when SPDP led by its President went to Rumah Henry Gomes, Kampung Mission, Ulu Teru where they had created factions and disunity among the BN supporters who my were strong supporters in the last State election,” he claimed.

Entri claimed that one the objectives which had led Mawan’s group to visit Rumah Henry Gomes had a “hidden agenda” which was to introduce Alexander Asing as the candidate to take over from him in the next State Election.

“It drew the attentions of the people in Ulu Teru and others in a closed door discussions that SPDP would drop all the appointments of Ketua Masyarakats and councillors in Marudi constituency and alleged that there was such thing as the existence of "second class residents" in Marudi constituency.”

Claiming that he “stumbled” upon when the same group later reached Rumah Benang, Sungai Bakas, Entri also alleged that he was bombarded by the group with harsh and abusive words such as, “Why he (Entri, no more an SPDP member) is in that opposition’s longhouse?, Why should they went to an opposition strong hold if they were a truly Barisan Nasional leaders of SPDP.”

In another incident at Mas Gading, Entri claimed that SPDP led by its President had organised at least two “all-out” functions in Bau with the intention to discredit the incumbent Dato' Dr. Tiki Lafe as well as disuniting the BN supporters in the Mas Gading constituency.

“How could the President undermine the credibility of the incumbent MP of Mas Gading who is still serving his constituents until the next Parliamentary election, was this not negative politiking within the Barisan Nasional by them and not by the G5?”

He also claimed that the Bidayuh community led by Dato Sri Michael Manyin had to take an initiative organised a Unity dinner in Bau just to ensure that the Bidayuh Community especially the BN supporters would be remain united. Were all these not negative politikings by SPDP?

Entri also questioned the one side story that the G5 were sacked because of gross insubordination which was said every now and then in the media. “Could we also asked why such accusation happened? Had it not because the President of SPDP abused his prerogative power by reneging or breached his signed statement or promise to maintain the President's line-up of status quo?”

"So, what sort of gross insubordination that SPDP was talking about while they did not see that it was how the internal problems in SPDP started,” he clarified adding that such problem had led the G5 lost confidence in the leadership of SPDP and not against SPDP per se as a BN Component Party.

He regretted those harping only on gross insubordination against the G5 failed to understand the actual problem in the Party. Let they have their own self-reflections so that they could be more rationale in accusing the G5 of gross insubordination as the main reason they were sacked or quit the party.-End of the email.

I WILL NOT INTERFERE THE CURRENTS CRISIS IN EITHER SUPP OR SPDP, SAYS TAIB

I'VE EARLIER ADVICE BOTH OF THE SUPP'S FACTIONS BUT THEY WON'T "LISTEN", ON SPDP'S CRISIS, WE HAVE WAIT A LITTLE BIT LONGER..I'M NO LONGER A SPECIALIST IN RESOLVING CRISIS

CHAIRMAN of Sarawak Barisan Nasional (BN) and Chief Minister Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud yesterday once again reiterated on his stands of his neutrality position regarding on the leadership issue which currently hitting both respective parties.

“I would not interfere in the current leadership crisis in both of either the State BN component parties; Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) and Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP) directly.”

He said this to reporters at a press conference after attending the Kuching City South Council (MBKS) Ramah-Tamah Chinese New Year 2012 Open-house organized by respective council held at the MBKS Hall near the city here yesterday.

Taib said that being the number one leader in this State, he has not only to focus on the State’s political aspect but that all level of people are not left out of the government's transformation program.

"I am no longer a specialist who can resolve the crisis SUPP and as I mentioned earlier, I would not just simply intervene directly in any of the internal matters of any of the State BN component parties, especially when the issues regarding on the parties’ leadership crisis.”

"Before (the situation now), I had gave a lot of advices and express my ideas and own opinions (onto their crisis) however, it seems (that my advices and suggestions are) not relevant to them (SUPP) such that failing to resolve their crisis .. and to issue SPDP, we have to wait a bit longer," he added.

Elaborating more, Taib expresses he wants a leader in both the BN component parties involved in the leadership crisis to solve the problem immediately for the good of BN as a whole.

"It’s up to them to them, what we want is settle and deal this matter so that the impact of these crisis would not gave a negative effect in general, to BN .. the sooner  they can solve this problem, it’s better for BN," he said.
He also expresses his hopes for any movement or quarters representing the Chinese to be more “serious” to strengthen the unity among the people, especially for the Chinese Community.

SUPP internal crisis triggered due to the party’s Presidential post tussle between SUPP’s new president Datuk Seri Peter Chin and Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh just as the party was on the verge of its 21st Triennial Delegates' Conference (TDC) in December last year.

Their crisis turned to a deeper situation when the former deputy secretary-general of the SUPP (Soon Koh) and his factions has announced to boycott decision of the TDC which was officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Meanwhile, SPDP crisis started after the president, Tan Sri Datuk William Mawan Ikom announced Sylvester Entries Muran, a member of SPDP 5, expelled from the party at the party's supreme council meeting last November.

FEUD WITH SPDP5 NOT A MAJOR PROBLEM, SAYS CM

BOTH SIDES WANTS TO SHOW THEIR DEVOTIONS TO BN

CHIEF Minister Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud said that the feud within Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP) is not a major problem as long as the feuding factions remains loyal to state Barisan Nasional (BN).

Taib, who is also the BN Chairman said that the loyalty to BN prevailed despite four SPDP elected representatives having left the party and one other being sacked from the party.

“I do believe that both sides are very devoted in playing their role and none of them want to even think outside of BN,” he said to reporters at function in Kuching here yesterday.

Following the sacking and quitting incident, the SPDP5 or G5, comprising of Marudi  Assemblyman and also SPDP’s former secretary-general Datuk Sylvester Entri Muran (sacked on last November 25th for alleged insubordination), Tasik Biru Assemblyman (party’s senior vice-president) Datuk Peter Nansian Ngusie, Mas Gading MP Datuk Dr Tiki Lafe, Bekenu Assemblyman Rosey Yunus and Batu Danau Assemblyman Paulus Gumbang (all party’s vice presidents) had announced would be forming a BN Club.

AS FAR AS I AM CONCERN, SPDP5 CAN STILL FUNCTION LIKE BEFORE
Touching on that matter, Taib however, disclosed that he had no idea yet about the roles of such clubs but believes that it could be a sign of “no matter what problem they faced in the party, they want to show that they are elected as BN representatives”.

“As far as I am concerned, these representatives (SPDP5) can still function like before,” said Taib  when asked whether the state BN will endorsed the formation of the BN Club and adviced both sides to “cool-down” first.

REMAINING SPDP5 QUITS PARTY

TO PROVE THAT WE ARE NOT TROUBLEMAKERS IN SPDP, WE QUIT THE PARTY TO STOP THE QUARREL ONCE & FOR ALL
THE year 2012 for Barisan Nasional (BN) Sarawak starts off pretty badly with the remaining members of SPDP5 quitting the party, effective from January 6th, following the sacking of Marudi  Assemblyman and also SPDP’s former secretary-general Datuk Sylvester Entri Muran on last November 25th for alleged insubordination.

They are Tasik Biru Assemblyman (party’s senior vice-president) Datuk Peter Nansian Ngusie, Mas Gading MP Datuk Dr Tiki Lafe, Bekenu Assemblyman Rosey Yunus and Batu Danau Assemblyman Paulus Gumbang (all party’s vice presidents).

The press statement on dated January 6th was signed by all four and was distributed at Nansian’s private office in MJC Batu Kawa near Kuching here stated, “We have steadfastly maintained our principle as we have declared earlier that if they touch any of us, they touch all of us. Now that SPDP has announced the sacking of one of us (Entri), we have no other choice but to quit SPDP as well,” the statement said.

“To prove that we are not troublemakers in the party and not challenging the leadership, we now quit the party and stop the quarrel once and for all and no longer pose a threat to the SPDP top leadership,” further stating they were voted by the people under the BN’s tickets and occupying BN’s seats as its elected representatives, they wanted to concentrate on continue serving the people and leave the fate of the BN top leadership, both to state and Federal leaders.
WE SHALL FORM BN CLUB IN OUR RESPECTIVE CONSTITUENCIES & CONTINUE TO SERVE THE RAKYAT THROUGH BN
“Therefore, we shall form BN Club in our respective constituency as a vehicle and an interim measure to continue to serve the rakyat through BN and the BN government taking directions from the BN top leadership and operating within the BN concept and framework.”

Since the walkout in 2010, several meetings were held between the party’s top leadership and G5 as an act of, what the group said, reconciliation however, the group  claimed that the meetings had been fruitless plus they were baffled by the party’s action in forming a Disciplinary Committee to take action against them.

“Secondly, why strip us of all party posts just barely four days after the show-cause letters were issued to us to respond in 30 days? Thirdly, why has the party stopped supporting our respective constituencies since the last two years?, Fourthly, why has the party kept going around our constituencies making hostile and unkind remarks and statements against us?,” said the statement.

WHAT LIES AHEAD FOR SPDP IN 2012 AFTER ITS' 2011 INTERNAL CRISIS (FINAL PART & PART II)

AFTER TAKING ALL CONSIDERATIONS, WE HAVE NO OTHER OPTIONS BUT TO SACK ENTRI OUT OF SPDP FOR THE PARTY'S SAKE

DESPITE these “obstacles”, Mawan was said still keen to go ahead with the Ulu Teru program and after being given “clearance” by the police, the program went on as scheduled successfully with overwhelming attendance by SPDP's members from the visited venues.

On November 25, after a three-hour meeting by SPDP's Supreme Council focussing on SPD5, Mawan announced, "After taking considerations for the good and party's sake, SPDP regretfully had no other option but to sack Entri from the party for his alleged insubordination."

The door however, was remained open for four other SPDP5 members and SPDP would reject outright any move by Entri to join or him being accepted by another Sarawak BN component party as it was unprecedented.

Senior Vice-President/Tasik Biru Assemblyman Datuk Peter Nansian, Vice-President/Mas Gading MP Datuk Dr Tiki Lafe, Information Chief/Batu Danau Assemblyman Paulus Palu Gumbang and another supreme council member/Bekenu Assemblywoman Rosey Yunus  were technically no longer office-bearers.

The party's Supreme Council has also decided that Dr Tiki will not be renominated to contest in Mas Gading in the next General Election (GE) as he was not the "most winnable candidate" and for which, a new winnable candidate name-list will be presented to the respective state and Federal BN chairman.

Just a few days after the meeting, Tiki stirred the crisis to an even deeper situation by declaring himself a BN candidate and he even replaced the SPDP logos and signboards at SPDP's previous community service centers in his areas after taking down SPDP's original signboards before replacing them with BN's.

His actions prompted a senior SPDP Supreme Council member to express his views on the matter and he described Tiki's action seems to be driven by his despration and dissapointment for him not to be renominate in the next GE and trying to create publicity for himself.

Entri however, doesn't realized he is actually creating even more damages to the party & the  worse part is his actions confuses SPDP's supporters who eventually would be the victims in the middle of this crisis, he expressed before sarcastically adding, "Entri did not know that the train is coming, he thought that there is a very good light at the end of the tunnel!"

Things however, seems to cool-down with the arrival of December, to mark very end of the 2011 with everybody seems to be busy & as if minding their own business.
IT IS TIME TO FORGIVE & FORGET, LET US MOVE TOGETHER, LET US BE TOLERANCE WITH EACH OTHER
On Christmas Day, whether it was intended directly to the SPDP5 or otherwise, Mawan in his Christmas Celebration wishes said that the Christmas session is the time to forgive and forget of whatever mis-understanding.

"Christmas is the time to forgive and forget, let us time to move together as one state and as one people of  the different races..we are very lucky to be Malaysian. let us continue to be tolerance with each other," he added.

Whatever are installed ahead for SPDP in 2012 is anybody's guess however, being a veteran leader and wise, Mawan is expected to continue leading and moving SPDP into a higher gear and at a greater pace especially with the 13th General Election lurking just around the corner.

SPDP needs to put the pass behind, closed their ranks and resolves all their misunderstanding or they even have to pretend to forget any differences for a time being, throw their egos back and put their differences aside for a while during the GE just to assure wins for BN.

WHAT LIES AHEAD FOR SPDP IN 2012 AFTER ITS' 2011 INTERNAL CRISIS (PART I)

ITS PRESIDENT TAN SRI DATUK SRI WILLIAM MAWAN WAS PUT TO THE EXTREMEST TEST IN THE LAST 12 MONTHS
MAWAN'S LEADERSHIP HAD BEEN TESTED TO THE LIMIT IN 2011
THE Year 2011 left some deep and nasty scars in Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party's (SPDP) political history particularly for its President Tan Sri Datuk Sri William Mawan as within the past twelve months, he and SPDP were put to the test to the extremest level ever.

Mawan's leadership was directly or in-directly challenged in many occasions by a group of SPDP's members, some were the party's own high supreme council members and office's bearers later known as "SPDP5" who even attempted to topple him from his Presidency post.

The SPDP5, led by SPDP's Vice-President and also Marudi State Assemblyman Datuk Sylvester Entri Entri at the early stages started distancing themselves from the party by not attending its Supreme Council meetings and continued "isolating" themselves from the party.

As Mawan tried to confine the matter internally by treating the matter as only a mere misunderstanding among their party, SDPD5 started launching attacks against their President,   and even to the extend of challenging and ridiculing his leadership through a series of press statements.

Many may are assuming that Mawan is a weak and a slow leader when he did not react quickly taking action accordingly to the party's constitution to counter the SPDP5's crisis and brushing off their claims of him not "fit" to fill the party's President's shoes.
FOR THOSE WHO ASSUMES MAWAN AS A WEAK & SLOW LEADER TO REACT AGAINST SPDP5, HIS CALM APPROACH ACTUALLY SHOWS THE TRUE QUALITY OF A  LEADER BY NOT TAKING DRASTIC ACTIONS
Little did those with the assumptions above knows that Mawan's reaction on the matter actually shows the true quality in a leader by being calm, professional and keeping his patient through the crisis and most importantly he never "gave-up" on SPDP5 til the end but instead, continues offering them rooms for negotiation.

Despite of the Presidents' humbleness and kind gesture, tolerating to their antics, SPDP5 never backed down even an inch and their alleged attempt to sabotage his visit to Ulu Teru, Baram near Miri was the final straw giving Mawan no other option except to take disciplinary action against the group.

The only logical reason prompting Mawan reacting differently or oppositely from his previous   approach to the crisis is not due to the "persuasions & poison-spreading" by the people around him but, he will not compromise when the crisis starts disrupting the party's unity in addition, factions in the party were obviously felt with some agreeing or against SDPD5's actions.

This later led Mawan to hold an emergency meeting at his house at Stapok near Kuching here on October 20 and among the main issue discussed were whether to postpone Ulu Teru visit which was scheduled by the end of the month or otherwise due to “security aspect” as it also was said that the President was threaten if he proceeds with the program.
