Democratic senators flung open the door Sunday for a renewed debate on national gun laws, vowing in the aftermath of the deadly Connecticut school shootings to immediately introduce gun-ban legislation and take the issue to the chamber floor.
California Sen. Dianne Feinstein said she will introduce a bill on the first day Congress returns in January to ban the sale of so-called “assault weapons” and high-capacity ammunition clips.
You know, that whole "never let a crisis go to waste". Say Uncle broke it down best, I think:
A 20 year-old had a couple of handguns (illegal). And, depending on the press report, had an assault weapon (illegal), automatic rifle (illegal), or machine gun (illegal). Shot his mom in the face (illegal). Stole his mom’s vehicle (illegal). Transported the gun in the vehicle (illegal) within 1,000 feet of a school (illegal). Carried it onto school property (illegal). Broke and entered (illegal). Carried a gun in a school (illegal). Discharged a firearm (illegal). Shot at people (illegal). Killed some people (illegal). Killed himself (not sure if illegal).
What law or laws would have prevented this from happening? Honestly. What you're talking about is the kind of evil that shoots 6 year old kids in the head at close range. You think making a 30 round magazine illegal is going to stop someone like that? Really? Or is it far more likely that you're using those dead children to pass legislation you know wouldn't stand a snowball's chance in hell of passing without a tragedy behind it?
Dianne Feinstein is a ghoul of the highest order, a hypocrite without peer, and an absolute shameless enemy of freedom. This vile humanoid is using the deaths of small children to push her pet agenda of gun control - knowing full well that the laws she is trying to foist upon us will do absolutely nothing to stop the violence that happened in CT. Bayonet lugs and collapsible stocks didn't contribute to the carnage. High capacity magazines are available and plentiful - and even if not, there is no difference between 1 X 30 rounds and 3 X 10 rounds when the targets are small and cowering.
Anyone proposing an "Assault weapons ban" or a "magazine capacity ban" or any other cosmetic type ban is merely getting the camel's nose in the tent. They really want nothing less than the full repeal of the Second Amendment, and they think nothing of standing over the bodies of murdered school children to further that goal. Think about how pathetic your cause is if you have to wait for a horrific tragedy like that which happened in Newtown, CT to push for it.
Vile, evil, despicable people, and I'm ashamed that I am from the same species.
