Prayers and Tears.

For those that haven't heard, there has been a mass shooting at an elementary school in Connecticut. While preliminary reports are often shaky and can often prove wrong, right now the reports are grim - multiple deaths, as high as 27 from reports I've heard. Most of them are children. I won't link to any news stories, not right now, because all of them are rushing to be first, not most correct. We'll come to know the full measure of death before long, and it will not be pretty. If you believe in miracles, start praying.

This is horror beyond comprehension, folks.

Some nutball with a gun walked into a school and started killing innocents. That's all we know right now. We have no idea why he would have done something like this - we may never know why. It doesn't matter what political views the shooter had; the type of weapon used; none of this is germane to the conversation. The larger issue is what would drive someone to perform an act like this - and the sad part is that we may never know why.

Expect dancing in the blood of these children - it's all the anti-freedom folks have. But to my freedom loving friends, remember that today is not the day for "Arm all the teachers" or "Gun free zones kill people". Be better than the ghouls today. Respect the dead. Mourn. Be human. Cry.

And hug your kids like there's no tomorrow, because for many families in Connecticut, there won't be.
