Color Challenge - Global Design Project 117

It's been a while since I've played along with the  Global Design Project Group. I was happy to see that this week there is a color challenge. Especially a color combo that I would normally not use, because my brain doesn't work like that. So it made me really think, which is good!

So I made a simple and modern Christmas card:

If you are wondering where I got that snowflake die-cut from ... it's part of the "Tags & Trimmings" bundle and I love the bold look of it... The wink of Stella was used to splatter the background... simply squeeze the barrel of the pen to get more flow of the paint and then tap then pen against your finger or another pen to splatter...

Be sure to hop on over to the challenge blog (Global Design Project) to see what everyone has come up with and even play along yourself...

A Sketch and some Feathers

The other day I found this real pretty feather on the ground when I got out of my car and I knew right away that I wanted to use it on a card. Then today I came across the sketch by the Global Design team and thought they could work well together

Here is my card:

And a close up so you can see my tiny bow a bit better:

Seaside Shore

Last weekend we did a short quick trip to the beach... and I guess I am still inspired by that... and not only that... I also played along with the lovely folks over at the "Global Design Project" where the theme is to CASE the Designer. Please hop on over to the blog to see all the samples

I liked the layout and went with that for my sample:

Celebrate Today... with a Sketch

I've had a pretty busy day today and didn't get a chance to play in my craft room until late this evening... So I wanted to make easier on me and hoped to find a good sketch... I did! Let me show you my card first though:

And you know what else makes a quick card?  Using Designer Series Papers! I used it for the background and then simply used the colors from the pattern for my image and layers.

It came out cuter than I imagined it... so I am happy with it!

Here is the sketch #GDP058 - Supplied by the "Global Design Project"

Be sure to check out the samples posted by the design team as well as fellow "players"... and maybe even play along as well. You can find it here!

Botanicals for You and a Sketch

Today I wanted to play along with the crew from "Global Design Project" since they had a pretty interesting sketch this week!

I'll post my card first and then the sketch below...

Here is the sketch:

And if you look at it closely, the green background says "Greeting", that's exactly what fascinated me, because me hardly ever create a background with word stamps... BUT, I was up for the challenge ;-)

I hope you like my take on this challenge and be sure to check out the other samples too... it might give you the inspiration you need to get started on your next card.

Welcome Baby!

I started to work on this baby card last week before I even knew that the theme over at Global Design Project would be be "baby" this week.

So I of course I put all the finishing touches on and posted to play along... Here is my baby card:

And just in case you're wondering how I created the mobile... It's actually a digital stamp from "My Digital Studio". Yes, I know it's not available anymore now. BUT some of you have it and still should use it ;-)   I pulled the stamp file over to my Silhouette Cameo software, traced it and made it into a cut file (but omitted the string of dots from the cut file).  I also printed it in very pale gray first, so I could then add the little ducks back in and also had perfect placement for all the rhinestones

See I have to resort to tricks like that because I literally don't own any baby stamps... very sad, I know. But that makes me think and be extra creative ;-)

I hope you enjoyed it and don't forget to check out the other ideas as well! You can jump over from here!

Sketch time!

Today I decided to play along with what the Global Design Project is offering this week. It's a sketch! Here is my card for you:

And here is the sketch to follow:

I really wanted to highlight the designer Vellum and chose not to put a stamped image over that pretty shiny paper! It's really hard to photograph, but take my word, it's gorgeous paper! It's a pretty simple card, but I like the clean and elegant look.

Don't forget to check the challenge blog so you can see what the design team and participants came up with. Just follow this link here!
