April Blog Hop (Maui Incentive Trip Achievers)

Welcome to our monthly Blog Hop for the Maui Incentive trip achievers!  I can't wait to see what the other participants will share with us...

If you are reading my blog in an email, please be sure to click over to my blog to see all of the samples and the hop list underneath...

While we are all dealing with the current situation and adhering to Shelter -in-place orders, our time to craft with friends has be cut out of our lives for time being... So I hosted a ZOOM meeting with some of my crafting friends where we would craft in our own homes in front of the camera and chat.. and sip...

I challenged them to a"theme" ..  this time I asked them to chose 1 piece of Designer Series Paper, a max. of 2 coordinating colors of cardstock, they can add neutrals and it had o have a die-cut shape or punched shape. Embellishments were ok to use.

I chose the pretty new DSP "Ornate Garden" and coordinating cardstock in Terracotta Tile and Daffodile Delight. ..I came up with this fairly simple card myself...

Please keep in mind I had to "entertain" the ladies or get the conversations started and help everyone with the technology aspect as much as I could... since it was pretty new to all of us... LOL

I was pretty excited that I remembered an old trick... I adhered the 2 daisies together, punched a hole in the center.... tied a double knot into the ribbon and then fed both end of the ribbon from the front to the back and adhered the ends so that the ribbon will not pull back out...

You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog - Claudia Perry or may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects. At the moment you are visiting Claudia Perry

Using up precious embellishments

So just like always, I have been putting aside (don't want to call it hoarding) my precious "Falling in Love" Embellishments... but with only one month left, I figured I'd use some...and hey... why not 3 on one card?

And another thing that I have not been using very freely is the pretty "Irresistibly Floral" DSP... so I used it again today. This time I didn't use the brayer... just a sponge and 2 different green inks...

Serene Silhouettes and a Sketch

When I opened my blog reader, I decided to give a sketch a try for today's share. The good thing is, those cards can come together fairly quickly...

Here is my card:

And here is the sketch I chose to follow:

I guess when I chose the colors I in a summery mood LOL. It's bright and cheerful and makes me smile. I really seem to like yellow and purple together.

BTW - the wooden sentiment was a left over piece from a prior Paper Pumpkin kit... BUT, we now have some similar embellishments in the catalog, called "Expressions Natural Elements". You can  dye with our ink pads... That's what I did! I used Rich Razzleberry but if you want it lighter, I would suggest to use a sponge dauber so you have better control over how much ink get onto the wood. This one almost looks black...

The pearls were colored in with a permanent marker (sharpie), but if you own Blendabilities, you can use them as well ;-) Color them while they are still on the wax sheet...

Please be sure to stop by my shopping site tomorrow  because Stampin' Up! is going to offer some new deals!   June 30-August 3, they are adding more items to the Clearance Rack and to Weekly Deals. You will save up to 30% on even more Weekly Deals, or up to 60% on extra items in the Clearance Rack (while supplies last). You'll want to hurry, because Weekly Deals discounts will be available in limited quantities before the items return to retail prices.

World of Dreams

For today's card, I followed a color challenge I came across online. I'll show you my card first and then combo info...

I really like how calm this color combination is. I've used only ONE new catalog item... can you spy it?

I'll help you out:

It's the center of the flower... this new embellishment is called Metal Rimmed Pearl. It comes in a box with 24 pieces!   8 each of 3 sizes: 1/4", 1/3", 7/16".... and they are adhesive backed! VERY nifty! I think I could become addicted to them ;-)

Hi - my name is Claudia! And I am addicted to ....

Burlap is so IN!

Today I wanted to share a trend with you that currently is so hot… and that trend is to use burlap with your paper crafts.

DSC_0023

And I have to agree the rugged look of burlap adds texture to any project. You should give it a try! On today’s card, the burlap was die cut, but you could also just cut a little piece like a square and add as a layer to your project…

Oh and this card is an easel card. The cardstock  is 4 1/4 by 11 folded in half here to make the card and then folded in half again to make the front stand up. The greeting was popped up to prevent the front from sliding.
