Fun at Convention

Yesterday we’ve had our opening session at 5pm. During that we got our convention bag filled with make-and-take supplies and even another stamp set for all. I took a quick group shot of it this morning:

After opening session we got to participate in this years Service Project (Birthday pack for a local children's hospital), go the several demonstrations, look at samples and help with the Guinness World Record attempt for the most greeting cards sent from a single location at one time! And of course - We did it with 2,984 cards!

Honestly, I think we could have got a lot more sent, but the line was wrapped around the building several times. It wasn’t until much later that a second line was opened. I mailed off a card too and my new friend Denise took a pic of me after we dropped off the card:

The nice thing with us stampers, you are never alone. Even though I am here by myself this year, I’ve met up with friends and made new ones. Here is Denise and myself at opening session

And of course we had to take to fun picture in our social media booth

I wanted to show you one product display board today:

Look at that cute banner – It’s made with the Mosaic punch!!!!

And of course I won’t go without at least sharing one display item that impressed me:

Isn’t that just gorgeous!?

There are more to come… I hope the lighting is better today… so stay tuned!

Convention Swap

Today is our first partial day of convention, meaning the opening session is this afternoon and I have free time until then. So of course I signed up for the shoebox swap for this morning. I am actually getting ready for that and thought I should share my card with you first.

Here it is:

convention swap

You may wonder what is the stamp set I’ve used. WELL, it’s new and will be in the upcoming Holiday catalog so I can’t show you a picture of the whole set yet, but it’s called “Truly Grateful” and it’s truly awesome Winking smile Just wait until you get your catty soon! Also the piece of burlap is a new item… the burlap ribbon!

I love the chalk talk frametlits tag it’s almost a perfect fit for the wood paneling. Since it is however not quite the same length it left a tiny empty border on the bottom, which I tore and sponged. Speaking of… there is a LOT of sponging in this card… and tearing!

I’ve added the little punched flower with a mini glue dot and bent the petals up some after I had added a candy dot in the center.

Serene Silhouettes, Really!

Today’s card is another swap card from convention and I am glad that the creator (Donna Ross) wrote the name of the stamp set on the back! The focal image is from “Serene Silhouettes” and while it is very pretty, I must have totally overlooked it all this time. I love that stamp set, so that’s very strange… too much focus on the other images, I guess.

Take a closer look! There is some paper piercing around the stamped circle image! That just really adds to the lovely look…

Creative Elements, Triple Frame stamping (how to)

Today’s card is the card from convention where I learned the technique called “Triple Frame Stamping”.

DSC_0032

How to:

Basically you have 3 pieces of white cardstock, each about 1/2 inch smaller than the other. You temporarily adhere the layers to one another and stamp all the images wanted. Then you separate the layers and add colored layers in-between. Very easy, but what a wow factor! Layers can be popped up to make it even more dimensional…

A modern Christmas Card

No… I am NOT back in the swing of things to the fullest yet. Meaning, I didn’t get to make a Christmas card for my own challenge yet. BUT I thought I should at least share one today… maybe that’ll get me inspired for next week.

The card I am sharing is from the convention swap and was designed by Roxanna McCulloch.
