Guest Designer Series, part 12

Joy Anderson is back today to share another card with us! Great color combo!

Hi, Everyone.

I have a friend I wanted to send a card of encouragement.  She’s not one for flowers or bling, so I made this card.  For the background I used the water color pencils and overlapped the colors in the middle to get the blended look.  I used SU! Markers to color in the greeting from Rooted in Nature and then cut out each phrase so I could stagger them under the image.  I used a black pen to draw the border echoing the line art image.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets: Beautiful You, Rooted in Nature
Paper: Thick Whisper White Cardstock, Melan Mambo Cardstock
Ink Pad: Basic Black
SU! Markers: Melan Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Only Orange(retired)
Other: SU! Mini Dimensionals, Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue, Black Pen, Water Brush, Stamparatus

Winter Woods - fun color combo

So last week I participated in a color Challenge and came up with this card:

The options where these:

The larger circle represents the main color of the project... as you can see, I chose "B" and made it a non-traditional Christmas card ;-)

A lot of times we get stuck and reach for the same color combos that we are comfortable with.  I like to play along color challenges for that reason to learn of new combos and break free of the "old"... Why don't you give it a try... you might really like it!

Color Combo Monday

Today I chose to work with "greens" because I have to push myself to use them LOL. Here are the 2 I picked for this week...

And here is my quick card for you guys:

When I colored the butterfly in, I had to cheat a little bit because we don't have a Stampin' Blends marker in Tranquil Tide... so I simply mixed 3! I colored in the whole image first in Mint Macaron, then where I wanted the Tranquil Tide, I added "Call me Clover" and "Bermuda Bay" over it. TaDa!!
