DIY Baby Shower Favors by Michelle

We asked our design team members to choose one of SRM's new DIY Kits and to create a project using the supplies but to take it up a notch.  Here's the Baby Shower kit that Michelle Giraud decided to play with.  Everything you need to create 12 baby shower favors is in the box.  Here'a a peek at the box and some of the favors you can create following our instructions.

Michelle decided, however, to go way outside the box (pun intended) and create a darling stamped image to affix to each glassine bag.  She stamped and colored with Copics and then scanned the image and printed out as many as she needed.  That saved her lots of time and plenty of ink from her Copics!
Once the image was on the bag, Michelle added a border from SRM's Take 2 Baby Stickers across the bottom of the stamped design.  Adorable!

Michelle made a little bow out of a SRM paper doily, cutting the doilies into quarters and then pleating each triangle.  She mounted the stickers onto a die cut circle and used a hot glue gun on the back of each sticker.

Michelle also added a short bit of Twinery Twine to use with the doily bow to tie the bag closed.  Simply punch 2 small holes in the folded top of the bag and lace the twine through.

Thank you Michelle for showing us how to change up the SRM Baby Shower DIY kit.  Your finished project is spectacular!

DIY Graduation Pillow Boxes by Juliana

Welcome to day #2 of our DIY Week!

Need some darling graduation party favors?  Juliana Michaels has created the perfect set for you!  I love the image of the wise owl for a graduation project.  So adorable!

Juliana took SRM's Graduation DIY Kit and tweaked it to create this project. You can create 12 party favors or gift boxes using this kit.  Everything you need is in the box!

SRM Stickers Blog - DIY Graduation Pillow Boxes by Juliana #graduation #favors #DIY #kit #pillow box #twine #stickers

First, Juliana cut the owls from various colors of cardstock using her Silhouette.  You can use any color to customize it to your school colors.

She then layered and assembled the owls and adhered them to the front of a SRM Medium Pillow Box. You get 12 of these in your kit.

Juliana cut "Happy Graduation" from SRM's Take 2 Graduation sticker borders, adhered them to a strip of chipboard and then attached them to the front of each owl.

She added Twinery Twine to match the cardstock on each of her owls.

On the inside of each box Juliana cut a piece of white cardstock to the size of the inside of the box and embossed it using her Cuttlebug.  She used this to "hide" the backside of the owl which is taped to the front of the box.  She finished it off with a "Congrats You Did It" sticker to the back of the box.

What an adorable idea!  You still have plenty of time to create your graduation favors or gift boxes.  This idea is sure to please.  Just tuck in some sweet treats for a favor and a check, gift card or a stash of cash if you use it as a gift box.

DIY Birthday Kit by Shelly

SRM's new DIY Kits are to much fun!  In each kit you have everything you need to create 12 favors for birthdays, weddings, holidays and more!  Today Shelly Kurth has take the SRM Birthday DIY kit and put her own spin on it!  Here's the kit!

And here are some of the birthday favor bags that Shelly created!

SRM Stickers Blog - DIY Birthday Kit by Shelly #birthday #favors #DIY #kit #muslin #bags #stickers

Shelly stuck with doing everything pretty much the same as the kit instructions using the supplies in the kit which include 12 muslin bags, 1 Take 2 Birthday Sticker and some twine. Instead of twine she added ribbon, sequins, and instead of using a punched circle behind the "happy birthday" sticker, she used a rosette. She kept everything consistent, so it would be easy for anyone to just make them in a line. The only thing she changed, was mixing up the colors as she thought it would be fun!

SRM Stickers Blog - DIY Birthday Kit by Shelly #birthday #favors #DIY #kit #muslin #bags #stickers

Shelly removed the drawstring from the bag and closed it with a colorful grosgrain ribbon.  Love how her cut one of the border sentiments into little sentiments to add as the finishing touch on her bag.

Love the different colored rosettes Shelly created and the sequins she added to the sticker once mounted.

You can complete one bag at a time, then easily move to the next. Or you can assemble all your rosettes together first, then bags, etc. Then work everything in a assembly line.

SRM Stickers Blog - DIY Birthday Kit by Shelly #birthday #favors #DIY #kit #muslin #bags #stickers

Shelly placed each one of her "make a wish" sentiments on a piece of colored cardstock. Then cut around the sticker, leaving a little bit of the cardstock to show. Once done, she added a ribbon on the finished bag.

These DIY Birthday bags would be the perfect activity for a kid's party.  Can't you just see them creating their own favors?  Now there's a great idea! :)  And by the way, you can stamp or stencil these bags too!

Mother's Day Frame by Michelle

SRM Stickers can be used so many different ways.  Today they are being used on a bit of home decor!

Michelle Giraud has created a fun and quirky Mother's Day gift for her Mom using an old photo, some SRM Express Yourself and Say it with Stickers Mother's designs and some black Sticker Stitches.   Michele's retro looking Ikea wooden picture frame got painted using Ranger Distress Paint in Mowed Lawn.  The vivid green is a perfect 70's color plus it's an exact match of the color on the stickers!  Groovy!

SRM Stickers Blog - Mother's Day Frame by Michelle - #altered #mother's day #mother #stickers #frame

For the decoration along the bottom, Michelle adhered the "Celebrate Mom" sticker tag to white cardstock and then added a couple of paper flowers and a bow!  Fun!

Here are the stickers Michelle used on her project.

What would you do with these stickers?  Cards, layouts, something gifty?  There's still plenty of time to create your Mother's Day projects.  Thanks for the inspiration Michelle!

Graduation Cards by Latrice

Graduation time is approaching and Latrice Murphy is preparing to give gift cards to a few close graduates she knows.  She created a set of 4 identical cards in a matter of minutes using SRM's Take 2 Graduation Stickers by the Dozen, mist and a little ribbon.  Here's what she made.

SRM Stickers Blog - Graduation Cards by Latrice - #stickers #take2 #graduation #cards #borders

Latrice started with a gray card base and topped it with white card stock that she used a notebook border punch on along the bottom.  She then dripped and splashed gold mist on the white card stock.  Latrice next used the Take 2 Stickers by the Dozen graduation set.  She layered 2 border stickers along the bottom and added some gold ribbon.  Her sentiment is popped up with 3D squares giving her card a bit of dimension.  She finished off her card with a bit more dimension using wood veneer stars.

Latrice loves her finished cards and can't wait to make a graduate smile this year.  Easy peasy and oh so pretty!

Here's the sticker Latrice used for her project.

Did you know that there are 4 designs of Take 2 Stickers by the Dozen that you can use to make quick and easy fabulous cards?  They come in Birthday, Baby, Wedding and of course graduation with more coming soon!

Decorated Doily Tag by Shelly

Shelly Kurth ususally is a minimalist when it comes to crafting, but when she started to play around with the new SRM Doilies, she mod podged and glittered and layered and embellished like never before.  Love the results!

SRM Stickers Blog - Decorated Doily Tag by Shelly - #tag #birthday #twine #doily #labels by the dozen

First Shelly mod podged her doily using a brush, spreading it all over the doily.  Once done, she sprinkled glitter all over it, tapping off the excess.  She let it dry and repeated the process one more time.  She let it set and dry.  Using the mod podge gave the doily a nice "heavier" finish so it does not droop.

SRM Stickers Blog - Decorated Doily Tag by Shelly - #tag #birthday #twine #doily #labels by the dozen

Once dry, Shelly created a card stock circle and tag, added a SRM Label by the Dozen (Birthday Birdie design) to the circle and popped it up on her doily.  She then loosely wrapped some solid Marigold Twine and added the little banner,  added a few sequins to the doily as a finishing touch and mounted it on her cardstock tag.  Then she added Marigold striped twine to the tag itself.

Wow!  How cute is that?  Shelly had a lot of fun making this project even though it was pretty messy with all that glitter but she said it was all worth it!   The results are stunning!

Mini Birthday Cards by Yvonne

Using SRM's Take 2 Birthday Sticker, Birthday Birdie Stickers by the Dozen, doilies and a clear mini box, Yvonne Yam has created a lovely gift of mini cards for a friend.

The matching envelopes are decorated with the borders from Take 2 Birthday and the images from Birthday Birdie Stickers by the Dozen.  How fun!

Yvonne then popped cards into one of SRM's Clear Mini Boxes.

She put the envelopes under the box and and tied them all together with a lovely bow!

And here's what they will find!  8 mini cards with matching envelopes under the box and all wrapped together.  What a perfect gift for friend.  Who doesn't need a stash of birthday cards?

And here's the SRM products used in Yvonne's project.

The clear mini boxes not only can hold mini cards, but delicious candies as well.  They are food safe!

Thanks Yvonne for this very "sweet" project.  Think I'll make a few of these for my present drawer.  I always like to have something on hand for a special friend.

Easter Layout by Latrice

Latrice Murphy's thinking about the Easter egg hunt and visit from the Easter Bunny with her girls and it inspired her to create a layout from a past Easter.   She pulled out a couple of SRM's Easter sticker sheets, printed a 5 x 5 photo of her youngest and went to work.

Latrice added some embellishments of chipboard and buttons...

Lots of SRM Stickers….

A bit of dimension….

And the result is fabulous! Here are the SRM Stickers that Latrice used:

Thanks Latrice for some great inspiration for Easter layouts.

Graduation Card Tutorial by Shelly

Using watercolor paper and watercolor pencils, Shelly Kurth has created a beautiful graduation card.  First she used pencils, paint brushes and smooch spritz, and then Shelly added SRM's Take 2 Graduation Stickers and a touch of solid black twine.

SRM Stickers Blog - Graduation Card Tutorial by Shelly - #card #graduation #stickers #twine #SRM

Here are the steps Shelly used to create this card:

1.  Take watercolor paper and using the watercolor pencil, rub on card (back and forth motion and lighter/darker in some areas).

2.  After, take paint brush and wet. Brush over the watercolor pencil, until you get the look you want. Let dry.

3.  Then take the smooch spritz and spray on card (to get the dots/splatters, do not push the pump all the way down. Before you use it on the card, you may want to use a tissue/scrap piece of paper first to see how it will come out.) Once you've sprayed the spritz on the card, let sit for a minute.

4.  Then take your finger and slightly smear it in one direction. Let dry.

5.  Take circle die, black cardstock, and run through your machine. Once you have your circle, adhere sticker to it.

6.  Add foam squares on back and adhere to card.

7.  Take twine and loop it around the one side of the sticker and add sequins.

Now you are trained so you can use this very cool technique to create watercolor cards too!
