What a treat to welcome Kathy Racoosin back to the SRM Blog. She was on our very first design team in 2010 and has remained a big fan of SRM ever since. Kathy is truly a stamping super star creating amazing cards and altered projects. Kathy loves her stamps and inks but she loves her SRM too. She reaches for them on a regular basis, especially the clear sentiments which are so much quicker and easier than stamps and need no clean up!
Here's a bit of info about Kathy:
"Since I was a toddler I have always had a passion for the artistic--whether I was entering coloring contests or drawing Ziggy cards for friends & family. Fast forward to adulthood: I was always on a search to satisfy my need to create; finally in 2009 I discovered card making & blogging. I am constantly inspired by others' card designs and scrapbook pages, and love sharing in this wonderful online community."
And here's what Kathy says about SRM:
"SRM always has the right sentiment for me and the stickers are a big time saver too. I love looking at one sheet of sentiments rather than flipping through all of my stamps."
Look what Kathy did with SRM's Bright We've Got Your Border! Love how she combines stamps and stickers on this card. Kathy said: "It's so nice to have a beautiful banner that is colorful without the work. No paper piecing or stamping make this a fast embellishment that enhances any card. For the bottom banner I put the sticker on white card stock, cut it out and repeated the step on blue card stock. The party banner in the circle I used white card stock only."
Love the embossing and Kathy's use of Copic markers on her stamping is simply amazing! She achieves such realistic colors, beautifully blended and shaded. I'm in awe of her talent.
For a change of pace, Kathy created a lovely SRM large Pillow Box and embellished it with lots of SRM Sticker goodness. On the outside of the Pillow Box Kathy decorated it with Black Sticker Stitches which give the effect of stitching with just a simple sticker! Got to love that! And the "it's the little things" mini sentiment border is just perfect for this sweet gift.
And on the inside, Kathy created a mini "make your own" card set. She pre-made the pieces and tucked them all inside. Included are sentiments, embellishments and layered card stock to get the recipient's mojo rolling. The darling daisy images are from SRM's Stickers by the Dozen Thank You and the sentiments are from the Bright Border. How totally fun and clever!
And for her last project, Kathy created a quartet of graduation cards. Who doesn't need a stash of these cards at this time of year? Kathy said: "For years I have been enjoying the art circles on the SRM sticker sheets like these graduation hats. I love layering the circles, adding a sentiment banner, some die cutting and you are done! So quick and fun. I whipped up these graduation cards in no time flat." You can match the school colors using colored cardstock. Easy peasy!
Here's the Stickers by the Dozen sheet that has 12 images, 12 sentiments and lots of mini sentiments around the outside of the sticker sheet.
