I cannot believe I missed the second day...........

Honey and I have been sick for a week now. So, I took yesterday off. I stayed in bed, drank tea and watched movies all day.... I feel much better today.

Shrimp playing in a tournament in San Diego last weekend. We have this weekend off and then we are in Hemet next weekend. Mater has been with his Mom all week, and we miss him. Luckily for us he comes home tomorrow! Yea! Can't wait to see him. Honey bought Cars 2 Tuesday night and we are planning a movie and popcorn night Friday night!!! He is turning into such a boy! Loves to climb, scares his Nono (me) to death!!

Tomorrow we are going to see our second taping of the Doctors.  Honey and I had so much fun the last time we went and while we were at lunch in Hollywood we saw this bit of handsomeness:

Softball Saturday......

Photobucket

It was a wet, rainy, cold, and windy day. I was getting up at the ungodly hour of 5am to drive to Victorville for a softball clinic. For her birthday, we "gave" Shrimp a trip to a softball clinic which was going to have a few college softball players there. Which players you ask? Well, 2010 National Champions from UCLA -  Megan Langenfeld , BB Bates, Destiny Rodino and from the University of Georgia - Brittney Hubbard.

Shrimp did not sleep for two days and told everyone she was going to meet Megan Langenfeld!! We had watched the College World Series this past spring and Megan was amazing and made a big impression!!

The clinic itself was great. Honey and I met Mr. Langenfeld and started talking about our daughters, one thing led to another andwe mentioned that we had teased Shrimp about having to catch Megan. (Shrimp has been catching for about 4 months), he then said, "Well, I could make that happen." Our jaws dropped. Sure enough after the clinic he grabbed Shrimp and Megan and she threw a few pitches! It was awesome! Shrimp did not stop talking all the way home!! When we got home she gave us big hugs and said it was the best birthday present ever. (I think there may have been tears involved on her part!!)

All the girls were so wonderful and signed autographs, took pictures, answered questions, and showed off championship rings!! (Shrimp asked me if those rings worked like the Superbowl ring of Howie in the commercial and got them hotel rooms!! She kills me, that kid!!)

Coming off the semster we had, when Shrimp asked for a bracelet (the girls were wearing them and lucky us they were for sale!!) I told her I would buy her one if she asked Megan what her grades were in high school. (4.2 gpa BTW) Shrimp said, "Well duh Mom. She goes to UCLA!!" (KILLS ME!!)
 Anyway onto the pictures:
Before the clinic started.
BB Bates

Destiny Rodino throwing BP.
Destiny told Shrimp if she swung correctly the ball would fly! HeeHee! Too bad Shrimp has never heard THAT before!!! Megan asked if Shrimp dropped her hands when she swung. When Shrimp said,"Yes." Megan said, " You look like someone who drops their hands!!"

Brittmey could not bring herself to sign on the UCLA shirt Shrimp was wearing. Sh tried but couldn't even touch it!! It was hilarious! She ended up signing Shrimp's Dodger sweatshirt.
 Megan and Shrimp.
Warming up.

Awesomeness!!!!

It was an AMAZING Saturday.......

Crystal over at Click It Forward, Photography has a weekly photography contest. I entered this shot in the Your Favorite Photo over on her Facebook page. And I won!!! Yea me!! Click on the link and see the other fabulous winners!!

Then, Bella Crochet was having "a just because" giveaway, also on Facebook. And guess what? I won!!! This lovely crochet pattern:

It's called Angel of Love. I cannot wait to get started. (I am having a HORRIBLE case of startitist right now!!!) I have never done anything like it, so it will be quite an adventure!!!

Also, yesterday, we had youngest daughter's end of softball season tournament to watch. But it was rained out. The powers that be didn't decide to call the games for THREE hours. So, we sat there with no cover getting rained on while the fields got soaked and unplayable!! Yeah, I know, didn't bring an umbrella because I thought the cover the city had put up was solid. Alas, nope it was quite not solid!!! And I couldn't sit in the car because I couldn't see the fields from the car. So, what is one to do? Take pictures of course!!!

The games have been rescheduled for today. We shall see.......

Final Game of the Season.....

Well, it is finally over. Fall ball has come to an end!! While we did not have many W's, the girls learned alot and, I think, had fun. While it is sometimes exhausting dealing with teenage girls, it is also rewarding. HAd some good heart to hearts with these girls. I can't wait to see them again on the high school field!!!

Project 365, Day 50

Well, today was weigh in day and given the fact that I have been sick for a week and haven't exercised at all, I was pretty nervous! But I lost four pounds and some inches!!! Woot! Woot!! My BMI is way down and other then getting exhausted and winded really easily, I feel fabulous!!!!!! Aren't my Valentine's day shoes wonderful? I haven't had them off my feet in a week and I think they may just be the reason I lost some inches on my legs!!! I love them!!!!!
My Project 365 picture is pretty good!! This old tree stump is on a friends property and apparenty grew into and around the chain fence.
Tomorrow is the official start of the ASA softball season and true to form we have four games and one basketball game!!!
I hope you all have a great weekend! We are supposed to have rain all weekend! I hope so, I need to get some knitting done!

Project 365, Day 45

The girls pretend to not like having their picture taken! But they are going to have to get used to it because I have been asked to document the season for younger daughters season. Which means I will also be taking pictures of older daughter and her team!!! Day two of bed rest and while I feel better when I'm laying down, moving around is a whole other ball game!!! My son has been a great help (getting me tea and food! He even helped me chage my bedsheets today!) And Honey, got me chocolate, the 30 Day Shred video and soft bears to cuddle for Valentine's Day! Tonight she is making Chicken Cordon Bleu for dinner!!!
I hope you all are having a fabulous day!!!!

Project 365, Days 37 and 38

I shot these images over the weekend.
Softball is full swing, and so of course it rained. And I came down with whatever my family has had for the last month. I was not as good as Honey and only managed to do half workouts this weekend. Being sick knocks me on my behind. Luckily it's a cushioned fall!

My weekend was exhausting. How was yours?

Saturday morning was ASA softball tryouts for the girls. So, we spent all day Saturday at the field. After one daughter had her try-outs I had to run her to her basketball game. Which she lost, but had a great game and fun. Then back to the softball field to watch older daughter try out and then go to a draft. Then home to see our son off to his Winter Formal. Can you tell he is the goofball of the family?
No he didn't take two girls, just one with the purple sash. The other girls date hadn't shown up yet. Apparently they had a good time at the dance and actually got home at a decent hour, before midnight. Yea!!
Sunday, we were up early to drive above son to his two baseball games in Los Angeles.
Which were long and it was chilly! Luckily, they have a walking track at the baseball field so we walked for an hour. (Saturday, with all the running around around we did get our 10,000 steps in!)
When those games were over, we headed back up the hill, dropped son and headed to the Big 8 softball complex for two nighttime softball games. Finally at about 10:00 pm we were finished!
How was your weekend?
