When Bird meets Mater......

Friday night we took Mater to the Jethawks game. He loves baseball, everything about baseball. He and Nana (Honey) watch baseball games at the breakfast table (yea iPad!!) He didn't miss a KHS game this past season. (KHS varsity made to CIF for the first time ever in school history, which is only about eight years now, however they lost in the second round) Anyway, the only thing  he loves more then baseball, oh yea and motorcylces, is KaBoom the Jethawks mascot.  So, enjoy the above video (shot with a Sprint EVO)

My Weekend in Review......

It was a fabulous weekend. Well, except for the massive rainfall we had last night. But even that was ok because we were snug as bugs in a rug!!!

It was a lot of Max and Mater.
We didn't make it to the Christmas parade, it was way to cold. So we slept in, had peppermint/chocolate pancakes, and watched college football. And I made an Angry Bird for my sister. (Pattern is here.)

I don't think the cats are enjoying Mater's visit as much as we are!!!

Sunday we went to Jethawk stadium for a Booster lunch. We a a great time (even if it started to rain while we were there. Oh well we had cover!!) and really great food! I cannot wait for next spring!!!

There was a raffle at the lunch and I won this beautiful wreath!! It is now hanging over my fron window. It is looking pretty lonely, so I guess we to get our lights up. Really really soon.....

Friday nights performance of It's a Wonderful Life was fabulous!!! It was in a small theater with minimal sets, but the cast was great! The main boulevard in Lancaster has been redone, complete with Bose speakers placed so the Christmas muic could be heard everywhere as we walked!! It is going to be a great plce to be this summer!!! And of course, the big man himself was there!!!!

The Season is Over........

Last night was the final game of the Jethawks season. We had so much fun this year. We became Booster Club members and met some wonderful people!
This last weekend was fan appreciation weekend. We won a dinner out, a retro practice shirt, and Flea won a jersey signed by the entire team!!!!

We are already signed up for next season (is it spring yet?)
Dancing Darrell saying goodbye!!!

Mater came by for a quick visit on Monday. He is walking all over the place and loves to dance!!! He is coming for a sleepover on Thursday and is going to the opening football game at KHS with me Friday night!!
I now have one of these babies in my hot little hands!!! I love it!!! Although there is sooooo much to learn!! I am playing with it constantly!
It is FABULOUS!
And in better news, as of this morning ALL four kids are back in school! Love it! Now what to do with all my alone time.........

Catching Up....

It's time to get back to regular blogging!!! DD#2 has been a freshman for two weeks now and she is really enjoying school. She went to her first high school party this past weekend (a Sweet 16 party for one of her teammates! And her parents were there!!) This is Chuck and Sandy, our section mates at Jethawk stadium. Darlene is another one of our friends in Section 103!!!

The softball team!! These girls are amazing! We took them to a Jethawks game and they met KaBoom!
This weekend our local county fair opened. Saturday was the parade for the fair. A tradition has been started where the eight high school bands all march as one block. Separately, they each learn the march and colorguard routine. We are the only high school in the area with drill team and song girls, so we are on our own! These are some of my Song Girls. This year we have a jv and a varsity team, thus the two different uniforms.
This is the colorguard.
Part of our drill team. Their uniforms have not come in yet.
Our twirlers
The Song Girls and Jeanell, our advisor and choreographer!!!
The drill team, with their advisor and choreographer, Ms. Soto. And DS#3, who is a member of the colorguard squad.

The eight drum majors of the area high schools. Knight High School, Quartz Hill High School, Lancaster High School, Antelope Valley High School, Eastside High School, Palmdale High School,  Highland High School, and Littlerock High School.
Part of the staff, Ms Jeanell, Ms Soto, Ms. Sienna, Mr. Santos!!!
Yup, a green horse!

I have no pithy title for today!!

Last night we went to see the Jethawks play. It wasn't very crowded. But we have so much fun and for 8 - 12 dollars a seat, it is a great family night out!
We are actually season ticket holders this year and I am loving it!!!! We went all out and joined the boosters! We have met some really fabulous people! It is going to be such a great baseball season, even if the boys of summer don't have the greatest season!! Tonight we are taking the kids. They are home all this week, but friday we aren't going. That is because friday is my birthday and Honey has a big day planned!
First, we are going to Dodger stadium for a stadium tour! An hour and a half of walking around the stadium, the dugouts, the locker room, the workout rooms, EVERYTHING!! (Is it friday yet?)
Then, we head out to Santa Monica to Top to Top, which is a running shoe store! They are going to put me on a treadmill and determine which running shoe is best for ME!!! So, I get a new pair of running shoes!! (Is it Friday yet?)
After all of that, we are heading back to Dodger stadium for UCLA night!!!(Is it Friday yet?)
