Hello! I was honored this month to be a guest designer on the Spellbinder's Blog to share cards using the brand new Sew Sweet Collection from Tammy Tutterow! This was my second set of card posted on the Spellbinder Blog - you can check out the original post HERE. Today I went very much with the the feel of this collection - very handmade and vintage crafty - to make two cards!
This first card uses the adorable Cute as a Button Stamps - a perfect huge card size sentiment! When I saw this pattern paper from Authentique, I just knew I needed to put them together.
I heat embossed this huge gorgeous sentiment in white on vellum - this allowed me to attach it over my pattern paper and have both the sentiment and the paper showing.
I die cut a couple of border pieces using Shapeabilities Sew Sweet Trims die set and adhered those at the top and bottom of my vellum panel, I then could hide foam adhesive behind those, and attach my vellum panel to my pattern paper. This also gives it a bit of lift and dimension which is kind of fun.
Next up, I pulled out some of the gorgeous dies from Shapeabilities Sew Sweet Valentine - isn't that layered heart so fun and amazing?!?!?
I die cut it from more pattern paper from the same Authentique 6x6 paper pad, and layered it together so that it was slightly offset on my white woodgrain cardstock panel.
I added the banner and leaves from the same set, then finished off with a sentiment from Sew Tiny Sentiments stamp set, a button and some twine, and a few jewels from Pretty Pink Posh.
Do you like making vintage style cards like this? Or do you prefer to go more modern? I kind of love trying my hand at everything!
