Scrapbook Tuesday - T on Tuesday - Hunterman

Hello There

Happy Tuesday to you all.  I hope if the weather is very cold you are warm and if it is very wet (as it is right here) your wellies are not leaking!

Today is Tuesday so I am sharing with you my Scrapbook Layout which I created on the weekend.  I am also joining in with Elizabeth and Bleubeard on the T stands for ....  I have been meaning to for ages so today is as good a time as any.

Rightio, onto the layout......

This is my Man - Mr Hubbie.  He is down at the bottom of our garden clearing the undergrowth.  Except at this point he was fixing the electrickery cable which he had just cut through with the chainsaw.  This lead goes to the pump below which we need to pump water to our home!  By the end of two days he had redeemed himself of the little mishap as he actually cleared a LOT of the undergrowth - just need to go the other way now.

Here is how I started.  I took a plain fresh piece of 12x12 SU VeryVanilla cardstock and masked some areas off using washi tape/tissue tape.  Now before you have the eeby jeebies, I often see people using these xpensive tapes to mask off and cried, but when you look at how much tape is on a reel, you can spare a lickle bit to mask off a masterpiece!

Once masked I flicked some acrylic paint which I had watered down a little to make flicking easier and then using my lovely shiny new star mask I masked little areas with my Sweet Poppy Embossing Paste (had it about 3 months and not used the black!)

Then whilst that was drying I had to think about what I wanted to decorate the page with and decided to dig in my Tin of Shame.  This tin is one of those that I just throw bits in that might come in useful.  There are die cuts (some sent to me), stampings, flowers, old credit cards, paper pags, old cards, you name it it is probably in there.  Well, my Aim for 2014 is to clear it again so I can find things.  And that is where I got all my embellishments from except the TH dangley thing!  Look away now if you are scared...

The tea of today is Camomile and Spiced Apple.  Due to the antibiotics I can only tolerate one cup of normal tea first thing in the morning before said antib.  So I tend to drink a plethora of herbal teas during the day.  That cup is the last one of a set of 6 that Simon's Nan bought us when we got engaged.  It is pretty special to me.

I have used a plethora of trimmings.  All boy (top left) is Cosmo Cricket likewise the Go confidently under the picture and the chipboard letters.  The dark star is one left over from a scrapbook kit of many years, the birdie on a branch was donated as was the branch and picket fence.  Paperclip was from Ikea, the chipboard star was a piece of packaging, the brad is ancient, the ribbon was out of the snippet ribbon basket.  The arrows were in a pack of assorted punctuations bought at least last century and never used!   The little stars stampings are Lavinia Stamps inked with Mowed Lawn DI (NBUS)

Off to the Snippets Playground for a little play with my buddies.  Hopefully the fence is fixed now and the goat has come home!

Thanks for calling by.  Enjoy your tea!

Scrapbook Tuesday - Anyone need a Hug?

Hello Friends

Brrr!  Mr Jack has sure been around this morning!  Wrap up warm is definitely the order of the day today!

Well, today is Tuesday so as is customary on my little blog I would like to share with you a layout which I have created recently (last night in fact!).

This is another photograph which has been hanging around on my computer desk waiting to be scrapbooked so here it is.....hope you like it.....

This is Hironomous.  A Blenheim Cavalier  King Charles Spaniel who was quite literally "dumped" on us.  We were asked to "foster" him for a short period and the owner never came back to collect him.  It is a very long and suspicious story which I won't bore you with here, only to tell you that he was one beautiful and loveable dog with a big heart, and was a wonderful addition to our family.  He was very cuddly too and here he is cuddling with a sweatshirt of mine.
I had been pondering how I was going to scrapbook this photo when in the middle of the night I thought to use the Boofle papers again and create a quilting theme using my Sizzix quilting die.  However, when I laid them out on the background, I needed something more than just a plain blue background.
So I got my hexagon mask out, and sponged some white acrylic paint through the mask to create a quilted look. The photo has had a little white Sharpies added to the outer edge.  The stickers are from a pack of Boofle goodies which I was given for Christmas. The title was cut using my Cricut and some card which started life as invitations to a Hunt Club Dinner.  Well it was a shame to bin them as it is such nice card.
I faux stitched around the edges of all the hexagons and using my Boofle stamps I stamped a few without embossing them. All the wooden buttons were threaded with bakers twine from Papermania and I used some variegated thread to stitch around the outer edge of the layout.
A few hearts, again faux stitched and layered on to a rosette which was in the Snippets tin.  A little Snippet of Stampin Up ribbon which my lovely friend sent to me.  I shall be running over to the Playground with this as there are lots of Snippets used!  Is the brazier running yet?
And for those of you who wanted to see some shots of Amsterdam, here is one which I took from the boat when we went on the (expensive) canal trip!  Yes it was snowing but looked very pretty!

Have a great Tuesday.

Sending a Little Happy Post

Hello Friends

I always like to receive Happy Post and I also do love to send it too!  I made this card for one of my Playground friends who admired a similar one I made for Miss a little while ago.

The lickle flutterbies were made using Snippets inked with the same Distress Inks to match the inked panel (Tattered Rose, Spun Sugar and Victorian Velvet) and a Snippet of fluffy stuff up the side.  I popped some stampings inside for my friend too.

I shall be putting this in the Playground for my Buddies to see.

Thanks for calling by.

Nature is Unique..

Hello Friends

For those of you who visited my desk this week you will know that I had a layout on there that I was working on so without further ado here it is.....

The photo is of one of Hubby's Bees who was out for a beautiful early February day two years ago enjoying the sweet nectar of Snowdrops.
I started this layout with a sheet of plain creamy yellow cardstock which I sprayed with Ranger Colourwash in Lettuce, Terracotta and Pesto whilst using Heidi Swap, Tim Holtz and Crafters Workshop masks.  I sprayed the colourwash in sections and then unscrewed the spray part, removed the tube and then flicked the ink to get some small splodges.  Well, gotta get inkey haven't we?  The flourish stamp here is from Crafty Individuals and most papers used are 6x6" My Mind's Eye - Tangerine.

I stamped up a new stamp which I bought from Ebay and unfortunately there is no makers name on it.  I inked it with Archival, embossed with embossing powder and coloured it in with Copics.  The bakers twine is Stampin Up and finished with a little button from my jar.
I cut the "Nature" letters using my Cricut and Quickutz self adhesive paper (cuts like a dream, glad I rediscovered it).  I went around the edge of the letters with Forest Moss Distress Marker to make them pop as well as stamping them with Stayzon Forest using a Hero Arts flourish stamp.  The word "Is" was made using Grungeboard letters adhered onto a grungeboard block which I adhered then painted with Paperartsy Fresco in Snowdrop,  with colourwash and flicked again then a little Adirondak Lettuce.
The Unique was stamped with A Lettuce again and embossed with embossing powder and trimmed then flicked with Colourwash and edged with A L.    The Stampotique Bees were stamped with Archival ink and embossed with embossing powder.  They were coloured with Wild Honey Distress Marker and an embossing pen was applied to the wings along with some Pearl Perfect Pearls.
I used the lace mask from TH which has given the effect of a crown at the bottom of the page. I will have to remember that for future projects!  I added some lace and Stamping Up bunting below the photo too. On the pink strip of paper you can see a little of a Pink Paislee stamp and the shimmer of the bee's wings.
The layout came a sketch from Liz Chidester of thescrappiest blogspot - so thanks Liz.  I really liked this one and hope you do too. I am linking this up with Simon Says Stamp - Lace, Facebook CC101 - spray ink, as well as the Snippets Playground.  Here is the Sketch....

Thanks for reading all the way to the end and hope you like.  I look forward to receiving your comments.

Have a great snowy weekend and please be careful.  Do heed the advice of the Police and other bodies of only going out if necessary.

Hugs

Pink Birthday Card for my Pink Friend!

Hello Friends

It was recently a very good Blogging Friend of mine's birthday, you know who you are, and because I didn't want her to see her card whilst she was away on holiday, I didn't post it here until now. I know she has seen it so it is okay!
A very pink card for a very pink kinda lady!
I even stamped the reverse as I was going to tease her with it!  I used spun sugar and tattered rose DIs for the background and aged mahogany for the stamping (black for the lickle stampings on the reverse for those smarty pants who are reading this!).  The stamps on the front are Penny Black, Hero Arts and SU and the reverse is Tim Holtz. The two little stamps "handmade by" and "hand made in Wales" are what I use on all my cards and are so old I have no idea what make they are!  And of course I had to include a Snippet on the front as well as the Snippet fibres.

Thanks for popping by and have a good week!

Scrappy Tuesday - Team Elliott

Hello Peeps

Don't know what sort of weather you are having in your part of the world but boy it is wierd here.  One minute it is tipping down with rain, next it is sunny, next it is blowing a gale and the next it looks like sleet coming down!!  Four seasons weather my father-in-law used to call it - Bless Him!

Well today is Tuesday and that means it is time for Scrappy Tuesday, even though I have had a bit of a Scrappy Monday this week too.  Thanks to you all for your lovely comments on yesterday's post.  It was lovely to hear from so many of you.  I love getting comments!  They mean alot to me!

Anyways.  Here is tonight's scrapbook layout.  Another one which I completed on the retreat I was on last month with the lovely ladies of Pennally.  Yes!  That is ME driving our Jeep.  As you can see we had more than a little snow on the ground and Hubby decided it was high time I learnt to drive the Jeep up and down our country lane instead of making him drive it.  My excuse is that I have never had a vehicle with low box and diff lock and all that techno stuff in before.  My lovely car I drive in has Economy, Sport and Winter settings however she does not go out in the snow as I am afraid of someone driving into her!! (Note to self - Ask Hubby to give her a good clean and polish so I can get some nice piccies of her for her layout.)  Oops, I digress.  Here is the layout...

Right, off to play with my CC2C for this week.  I started it last night but it took so long to upload the photos as they kept stopping that I lost the will to carry on!

Enjoy your evening and see you all soon.

Hugs

Tweet Tweet My Lovely - Snippets Challenge and Sketch

Good Evening Peeps

I hope you have all had a lovely Weekend or, if not a weekend of Crafting  then at least, with some time Crafting.

I have had my Buddy Mandy here in my Craft Room today, making her Configuration Box which I bought for her Birthday last year, and which she has been making it into a Memory Box of her Family's trip to the USA in August.  I really should have put a swear box in my room for the day!!  'Nuff said I think but I really do think the Craftling Creatures have paid us a visit!!

The purpose of today's post is to show you a layout I have done and which I am only showing you if you promise that you will NOT laugh!!  Here goes.....

YES. It is me!  I am about 7 on this photo.  In my days of being a Ballroom Dancer.  Before Strictly Come Dancing was even thought of as a TV show!  The event was a Ballroom Competition and I can remember we went to someone's house which was quite a drive away from home, but closer to the venue in order to get ready before the event.  One of my favourite tricks was to kneel on the floor in my dress and tweet, pretending I was on my Nest!!  I know, I know.  Probably funny at the time!!

I have taken the basic design from my Blogging Buddy Karen's blog which I saw recently HERE.  I liked the design so thought I would make it.

I hereby promise that except for the background paper and the yellow spotty paper, all the other papers used including the mount, flourishes, die cuts, and journalling piece, were all out of my Snippets book.  So I am hoping the Lovely Di will allow me to play in the Playground this week over on the Snippets Challenge.   Pleeeeeeeeeease Aunty Di!!  I will make some more cards later too!!

So there you are.  Your Sunday Evening Giggle from me!!
I haven't done the journalling yet, but will do before I put it away!  I am waiting to ask my Mum where and when it was!

Please feel free to leave me a comment and don't forget to pop over to Di's blog to see some of the other peeps who have joined in the Challenge!

Thanks for looking.

WOYWW 135 - Johan's card - Sunday Stamper

Good Morning Peeps!

Wednesday already and only Day 2 in work.  Boy I could quite get used to these 4 day weeks!

So what is so special about Wednesday I hear you cry?  Well it is known as several things - Hump Day, Half way through the week day, Nearly Friday day, but in the crafting world it is known as WOYWW Day.  For those of us (silly enough to) who take part, we all take a photo of our desks, warts and mess and all, and link them up to the lovely Julia and we blog hop around the world looking at other peoples' desks, floors, laps, dining room tables and having desk envy or drawer envy or stamp envy or anything else envy!!

Here is mine this week.......

For those of you who have been to my desk previously, you will note that it is pretty much tidier than it has been for a fair while.  No big piles of paper in the top left corner, that cup of herbal tea is actually still warm and the inks are out because I have just finished a card for my lovely dancing teacher Johan (aka Obi Wan!) on Thursday.

Here is a closer look at the card.....

I used Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Wild Honey and Fired Brick DIs and a Paperartsy stamp.  It is a little bit out of my normal comfort zone and I like it!  A lot!!  I did try making a second one but I managed to bodge it!  Oh Dear!  I think was the exclamation.....not!!

If you are wondering what that sheet of orange stuff is on top of the Cadburys tins is, it is felt.  I was trying to get a good crisp stamp image and tried the glass mat, then the funky foam and then felt.  I got the best result on the felt.

I remember seeing something like this in Craft Stamper but this is the first time I have tried it.   One layer!!  Phewf!  I need a lie down now.  As the lovely Hels' theme is "Anything Goes" I shall enter it for her Sunday Stamper Challenge too!

Well, don't forget to leave me a message to let me know what you think of what I am doing.  It gives me a good excuse to come and nosey at your desk too!!  And don't forget to call by the lovely Julia's blog too!!

P.S.  The Cadbury's Finger tins are very old and I inherited them.  I DID NOT eat all those fingers!! Honest.  And what do I use them for?  They are PERFICK for holding DI ink pads in!

Grungy Monday - on a Sunday!

Hello there Fellow Crafters!

First of all may I say "Happy Mother's Day" to all you wonderful Mums out there!  Hope you are having a lovely day and have been utterly spoilt rotten by your loved ones.  I am not a "mother" to any small humans as were not blessed with any, but I have been "Mum" to three wonderful dogs and a few rabbits since I married my DH all those years ago.  I have also been "Aunty" to lots of my friends' children too.  This morning, my little Dobby "presented" me with a Boofle card, coaster and note book and my DH presented me with a bottle of Iron Brew Vodka (purely medicinal of course!)!  Dobby cannot buy it as he is not over 18! LOL!!!  Tea in bed and a bacon buttie - Perfick!!

(Awwwww!)

Next I must say "Hurrah Hurrah" to the Very Nice Man from BT and my Darling Hubby for getting me back on line again after 10 days of intermittent internet!!!  BT for getting the line to our home working and to Hubby for getting it the internet upstairs to my Craft Room!!

Reacquaintance to the blogging world could not have come at a better time for me.  I unfortunately missed the deadline for Hels' Sunday Stampers but I am still in time (I hope!) for deadline of the Grungy Monday on Linda Ledbetter's Blog.  If you click HERE you will be whisked over to her blog by magic carpet!  I always wanted to join in Linda's previous Tim Holtz Challenge but as it was soooo late in the day when I joined the Blogging World I always felt it was too late to join in .  Now I am in on Number One of the new challenge and I aim to join in every week and hopefully learn more skills in the process!

Here is my little piece based upon Mr Tim Holtz's Tag 10 of 2010.

I am totally in love with the new Sewing die and stamps which he has recently brought out, as you may gather from my latest pieces which I have made.  I am sure there will be some more projects appearing on my blog in the near future!!  Hope you like them too!

Thanks for looking and please do leave me a comment so that I know that you have been here!

Internet willing I will speak to you very soon!
