Scrapbooking Tuesday - Macro Peonies

Hello Friends

Tuesday is here again, and a pretty cold Tuesday it is here in the UK.  I am extremely envious of a good friend of mine as she has a Crafting Day today aka Snow Day!  I hope she has fun and wish I was with her!

So without further ado here is my layout this week.....

The Peonies were photographed early one morning still with some dew on, whilst I was taking Dobby for his morning perambulation.  I never planted them, but rather they appeared after we transferred some soil from Mum in Law's garden when we were levelling part of her garden to extend the lawn.
The layout is a kit which I have tweaked to add an extra photo and I have included some stamping and embellishments.
The punch I have used on this top right corner, and indeed all of them, come from a punch which I have used for the first time.  My friend was laughing at me when I was using it as I had to put it on the floor and push down putting all my weight on it (or as much as I could)!!  Talk about being difficult to use.  All the punched pieces and the word "macro" have been glittered with a fine shimmery glitter, but it is not really noticeable on these pics. I did not want it to detract from the photos so am fine with that.

That is it for now folks.  Thanks for calling by and thank you also to my newest members Lauren, Shana and Irene.  Thank you for following me.

Happy Birthday Megan - Use it up

Hello Friends

First I would like to say Happy Birthday to my niece Megan today.  She is 24!!!  Yikes!  How did she get to be that old?  Here is the card I made for her......

Still in the mode of "Use it Up" that Sandra has gotten me into.  They say green and blue should not be seen but hey! Why not?

My lovely Friend sent me the image some time ago so I coloured it in, raided my Snippets boxes, used my lovely new SU label punch and added a pre printed sentiment on that I have had since the days of Noah building his Ark!  The embossed circles were all punched circles which I ran through the Big Shot with a Tim Holtz embossing folder.  And LOOK!  I am even using eyelets, again bought when Noah was making his ark!  I heard a rumour that Jewsons is selling out of wood lately as there is a rush on arks!

You can see my lickle chicken has come over for a peek.  Chikkins sure do like a nosey at whatever you are doing!!

Got my wellies on so off to play in the Playground now!

Grunge goes Pretty - CC2C Challenge 14

Hello Peeps

Tonight I am sharing with you my piece for the Compendium of Curiosities II Challenge.  The Lovely Linda asked us to turn to page 39 of Vol 2 of Tim Holtz's Compendium of Curiosities book and follow the instructions which involve glassine and alcohol inks.  I cannot share the technique with you so you will have to purchase the book!  This week the Challenge is sponsored by the lovely people at The Funky Junkie Boutique! There is a prize of $25 worth of goodies!

Here you can see where I have used the glassine, mixing it with pretty papers to make a flower to go on a box.
Some beading too, as well as some pearls around the scalloped circle.

And here is what is going inside the box, to give to my Quilting Group as a raffle prize for our Annual Summer Hope Lunch.  I have been making raffle prizes for a few years now and usually my raffle prize goes first.  Let us hope this prize goes down well with the Group.

Don't forget you have time to join in the Challenge as it doesn't close until Thursday.

Thanks for looking and please leave me a comment so I know you have been.

See you all soon.

My First Step Card

Hello There

A friend of mine kindly gave me some instructions to make a side step card after she made one for my Birthday recently.  You know me....I like a challenge.  So I set about making one for my neighbour.  I like it and so did my neighbour so I guess it is ok!

If you look carefully, you can see my birthday card (still out.....well too nice to put away) behind my card.

My neighbour lost her chickens to Mr F a few months ago and she had just bought two new brown ones.  They are living in an Eggloo, hence why the chookhouse is green!

Thanks for looking.  Off to make some more step cards now as I do like the format!  Thanks Buddy!
