Scrapbooking Tuesday - Macro Peonies

Hello Friends

Tuesday is here again, and a pretty cold Tuesday it is here in the UK.  I am extremely envious of a good friend of mine as she has a Crafting Day today aka Snow Day!  I hope she has fun and wish I was with her!

So without further ado here is my layout this week.....

The Peonies were photographed early one morning still with some dew on, whilst I was taking Dobby for his morning perambulation.  I never planted them, but rather they appeared after we transferred some soil from Mum in Law's garden when we were levelling part of her garden to extend the lawn.
The layout is a kit which I have tweaked to add an extra photo and I have included some stamping and embellishments.
The punch I have used on this top right corner, and indeed all of them, come from a punch which I have used for the first time.  My friend was laughing at me when I was using it as I had to put it on the floor and push down putting all my weight on it (or as much as I could)!!  Talk about being difficult to use.  All the punched pieces and the word "macro" have been glittered with a fine shimmery glitter, but it is not really noticeable on these pics. I did not want it to detract from the photos so am fine with that.

That is it for now folks.  Thanks for calling by and thank you also to my newest members Lauren, Shana and Irene.  Thank you for following me.

Scrappy Tuesday - Dad's 80th

Hello Peeps

It is Tuesday so we know what that means don't we?  Scrappy Tuesday.  Well, if you have been on my blog in recent months.  No reason as to why I show you my layouts on a Tuesday, no challenge, just one of those things I thought would be a good idea.  Sometimes we need to have a lickle structure in our lives!

Tonight I thought I would show you a layout which I completed at the Scrapbus Crop last month.  This layout used some of my favourite papers,My Minds Eye, and the Special Day was my Daddy's 80th Birthday last year.  The chocolate cake I made for him and the Womble has been used on cakes in our family for a very long time.  Must remember to get him back!

We gutted, distressed, cut out, raised, stamped, die cut and generally grunged to create this layout.  As usual mine is not exactly the same as the instructions as I added my lickle touch to the flowers, extra layers and different colour ways used as well as threading the buttons.  Not keen on "empty" buttons.

Hope you like this layout as much as I do.  I will treasure the photo for ever!  I have printed it in black and white as sometimes this looks better than colour.  Don't know why but they do!

Let me know you have been by leaving me a comment.  Gotta love comments.

Hugs

Love - Layout - Rome 2011 - Trevi Fountain

Hello Peeps

I thought I would show you another layout I have completed this month.  It was a kit which I purchased from Scrapbus - the Crop which runs once a month in Newport, South Wales.  I have unfortunately missed a few lately due to life getting in the way, but I have decided that this year I will make an effort to scrapbook much more than I did in the last four months of last year.
The papers are by one of my favourite companies. My Minds Eye, hence why I bought the kit.  I have made a few small changes to the layout such as adding red embossing powder to the bunting at the top of the photo as alot of the glitter had come off.

I also added a journalling spot behind the piece on the left.  I do find that alot of scrapbooking kits and layouts do not allow for journalling which to my mind is a little daft as there is nowhere for you to tell the story.  I also jiggled it so that the bird on the left showed too!
The eagle eyed amongst you may remember that I have scrapbooked this photograph before.  When I set out to scrapbook on this occasion, I had a different photograph which I was going to scrap (me in fact at the Coliseum) but when I saw this kit in the box where I keep my favourite papers I just had to do the layout and change the photograph.  Never mind ey!  It is one of my favourite recent photos of my Hubby so why can't I scrapbook it twice.  At least the two layouts are different colours and the photos are different sizes!!

If you live anywhere near Newport, why not pop along to Scrapbus.  I have linked their site HERE and you can get access to their blog from there, as well as other kits available for sale.
