T stands for ..... My Dad Scrapbook Tuesday

Hello there Peeps

OK!  Who stole the big round yellow shiny thing that was in the sky yesterday?  It IS still dry but it is a tad chillier here today.

So today is Tuesday.  Day 4 of no-rain-since-October-phenomonon!  That means it is time for me to share a layout and a cuppa with my friend Elizabeth and Bleubeard.

So here goes.....

This photo was taken on Christmas Eve.  Yes it is my Dad!  The cup one of my favourites which portrays a picture of a poster that was around on railways in times gone past.  Hubby bought it for me on one of our trips to York Railway Museum.  It was not the last trip so must be around 7 1/2 years old now.  And no chips!  I cannot bear chips in cups and if I find one the cup has to go!  No sentimentalities about it - out it goes.  If a handle goes I move them upstairs in my craft room for water or brushes, if it is a special one! No chips though!  Got that?  The tea is good ole' Glengettie - a Welsh brew!

This picture below is a better representation of the colours.  The background piece is a VOS sheet of Kaisercraft I bought a while ago and have not used.  Tut Tut!  I just love Nutcrackers.  I had a rummage in my Snippets box as well as the box with my Guernsey album in and found lots of long strips of plain cardstock, as well as the cream piece (second from left) which was left on my desk from the mini ATC album I shared last week.
I stamped the background sheet with two Crafty Individuals stamps and inked around the edge.  I punched the purple/red TH strip with my EK Success punch and sanded it to show the core, likewise I sanded the orange and green strips too.
The tiny rosettes are VOS from K&Company bought many MANY moons ago and the little stars are off the same sheet too.  The wooden DAD is from a pack bought in The Works a long time ago.  There is something new on here though - the die I cut the star from.  The star paper is a Snippet though, and once attached I stickled around the star using a black stickle.
I added the string on the photo 'cos my Dad always has string in his pocket, as well as some rubber bands.  A star, well, that is my Dad! and a tag with the date on.  The "Full of Joy" is from Cosmo Cricket.

Dobby insisted on standing still (for once) and having his photo taken so he could say "Hi" to my friends and especially Bleubeard!

Thank you for popping in.  I hope you like my layout.  I shall find out if Dad does on the weekend!  Off to join my friends over at Elizabeth's with my cuppa.  I am also taking the layout over to the Snippets Playground as there was a plethora of Snippets used on this layout, including the string which came from a the tag on my new shopping bag!

Scrapbook Tuesday - In the Pink!

Hello Friends

Do not adjust your set.  This is a bright PINK layout today!  I know, I know, I am not the Pink Queen!! I am usually more of a Purple Peril but today is schpeshial 'cos it involves a Charity fundraising event which yours truly took part in.

You may recall earlier this year I was praying for good weather as I and a few colleagues from work were all walking for the In The Pink Charity, which raises money for research into Breast Cancer in Cardiff.  So here is us at the end of the day in pictures....

Here are, the motley crew, all dressed in pink t-shirts and other items of pink clothing, some of which were not on show! (I was wearing something pink but I am not showing - my excuse and I am sticking to it!)
Our medals we were were presented with.
Dobby was a trouper.  He isn't used to 10 mile walks but he did not complain once, though he was desperate for a lie down at the end!  He even got his own medal!
Various states of attire on the feet I see! Not noticed this until now!!
Who can resist stars on the flip flops!

This layout came about as I was removing the medal from where it had been put and decided to scrapbook it straight away rather than put it in a drawer!  Aren't I a good girl today then!

Papers are Bazzill, DCWV and Silhouette adhesive paper (Snippet of). I used my QuicKutz tool (VOS) for the flip flops and star.  Cricut for the text.  Black Archival ink for the stamping and NBUS sewing stamp and also my doggy paw stamp. Dobby and his mat were cut using Spellbinders.

Thanks for popping in.  I shall take this over to the Playground as there are some Snippets in there.

Top tip for today!  If you gut the base card so that you can get the same pink for the flip flops, don't merrily place adhesive on the layer of cardstock over the hole you have now made.  This makes the back of your layout stick to the table - with an ATG gun - very well!  Doh!  Though I used a Snippet of white cardstock to prevent this which now doubles as a place to list the participants!!  We raised just short of £1,600 for our walk!  On to next year now!

Hugs

Rudolph Day - April

Hello Friends

Gosh it is coming towards the end of another month...where has April gone?  As it has past the 25th of the month it is time for Rudolph Day with my Buddy and fellow Playground Mate...Sandra.

So without further ado here are my two cards which I have made.....

Now I have taken the photo I notice that the ribbon looks slightly wonky, so I have now remedied that!
Both cards have been made using my texture paste and metal stencils which I have had for some time.  The Tree stencil I had some time ago and I used to use an embossing tool to make the pattern.  Good grief!  The Santa stencil I have had for a while without ever using it!  Tut Tut!  I have used Snippets on these cards so shall be taking them to the Playground.

I thought I would share a photo that I took off our Dobby the other morning, just as I was leaving the house for work!  Do you think he was tired?  Or hungover?

Well, I hope you have a great week.  I am looking forward to a nice long weekend next week.  This weekend has flown by and it has been a Great Weekend for me.  I undertook a quilting workshop on Saturday but not much else until a rush three cards tonight!  I will share them later int he week!

Scrapbook Tuesday - My Boys

Hello Friends

I missed Tuesday last week due to decorating the lounge in readiness for my settee (which incidentally did not/has not arrived :-( )!!  I have a scrapbook layout for you this week and hope you will forgive me for missing last week's?

This layout has been taken from a kit I bought some time ago, with some adjustments and twists to suit me.....

Here is Mr Hettie and Dobby sat having a Boy Moment in front of the fire some 2 1/2 years ago.  Dobby must have been very tired as he usually pricks his ears up when I turn the camera on and so I get no chance to take a photo of him asleep!  Glad he did not this time as I do rather like these photos.
A little detail of the strips behind the photographs using a mixture of ribbon and papers with punched papers making a stripey feature.  And a close up of our sleeping dog.
Little die cut hearts which I die cut using my friend's Sizzix die and the darker brown heart flipped over and a little glossy accent added.
Some journalling with ribbon and more hearts made using punches.
And then the title made using my friend's Tim Holtz die, the heart cut using the Sizzix die I used at the side of the photos.  All the flowers are Kaiserkraft.  You can see a little hand doodling around the edge of the layout.

Thanks for calling by. Let me know you have been.

Have a great week, a little shorter this week on account of the Bank Holiday. :-)

Catch a Wave - Scrapbook Tuesday

Hello Friends

Another photograph which was lying around in my Craft Room.  I was procraftinating (this is my word of the year!) whether to do something with it or bin it.  I had thought about cropping the photo but it did not look right.  Hubby challenged me to scrap it.  So scrap it I did!

I took a sheet of Basic Grey cardstock, bubblewrap wrapped round a block, an adhesive lid and some white acrylic paint and set to on the background.  I wanted to echo the dots and circles in the blue paper.

The blue dotty paper is a Fancy Pants paper with the journalling cards on the reverse side on which I got the title for the layout.  The stripey paper is from my Snippets Box and the reverse side was used as the background for the orange journalling card.  That Strip across the photo reminded me of starfish and has been in my Snippet box for ages!
The plain orange cardstock was punched with Martha Stewart punch, score lines added then stitched to the layout using my trusty sewing machine.

I also stitched the ribbon and punched some bunting to put down the side of the photo using Snippets of the papers used.  A little Play ticket as well as a Go For It tag as Dobby sure did enjoy his running around the beach for the first time!  Though I must say he was not keen on the water itself!  I bought a paw stamp in Hobbycraft the day I finished this and you can just see it on the red paper which I embossed with white embossing powder!

I shall be sharing this at the Playground as it contains Snippets!

Thanks for calling by.

Moments - Scrapbook Layout

Hello Bloggers

I don't like to tempt fate, but when I left the office tonight the sky actually wasn't leaking and nowsome 4 or so hours later it still hasn't leaked!  Woo Hoo.  All we need is a few more hours (say 100 or more) and we may be able to cut the grass!!  Nah!  No chance ey.

Never mind.  How about I show you a layout tonight then?  You want to see?  Okay then.  Here it is...

Mr Hettie and Dobby enjoying a moment in the garden when we had some sun about two years ago.  When we come home from work we like to sit together on the patio (well at least in the summer) with a cup of coffee (and maybe a biscuit or two) and talk about our day and what we plan to do for the evening, however, this summer - no chance!  We have had to resort to sitting at the dining room table instead.

Love this flower.  It is actually made using the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die!  And a button in the middle of course.
The Moments is also another Tim Holtz die cut out of a delivery box and painted with stencil paint with some copper wax smooshed on the top.
Lots of punchings on the there.  If you look carefully you can just about see our bee hive in the background.
Love the shape on this one.  You can see some tearing of the corner too.  It was a square torn in half diagonally and tucked under the frame.   And a fair bit of doodling around the edges.

Hope you like it and please let me know what you think by signing in the Visitors Book, so I can pop over to see you later!

Scrappy Tuesday - Dream a little Dream

Hello Peeps

Oops!  I know it is Wednesday but here is my Scrappy Tuesday posting for this week. I had every intention of posting this yesterday but you see, I was out last night - dancing the night away.  I was picked up at 6.30pm and did not get home until 11.45pm.  On a School Night too!  I know! I know!  It was rather good though and it is sooo nice to be back on the dancing scene once more.

Anyways, on to the purpose of today's posting.......my layout......

Our little Dobby sitting at the window in my Craft Room watching the world go by.  He started to pop in to my room when I was in ther so got him another cushion so he would be comfy!  All the creature comforts for the pooch ey!  Actually, I do like to sit there myself sometimes with a well earned cuppa and have been known to pull the cushion out of the way to take photos of pieces on the floor as the light is sooo good!

The majority of the papers are Echo Park - Love them!  The lampost is a Kaisercraft stamp. The paper which is not Echo Park are from the scrapbox so I am going to be cheeky and put this into the Snippets Playground.  Why not join us and use your snippets.  We have swings, roundabouts and now a BRAND NEW Go-Kart track (all virtual of course!).

This layout was actually in a kit but unfortunately when I came to sit down to create it there were several sheets of paper missing.  I promise I had not opened the kit beforehand.  So I added some papers of my own and also jiggled things around a bit (including changing the stamped image from the original) so it is not exactly the same now and am liking it.

It is Rudolph Day so Happy Rudolph Day to you all!  You can join in there too.  You just need to make something in readiness for Christmas whether it be a card or tags or anything else.

Thanks for calling by and please let me know you have been by leaving a message.

I also want to say "Hi" to my two latest followers Heidi and Rita.  Thank you for following me.

Hugs to you all

Hettie
