Jumping for Joy...

Hello Friends

Just popping by to share a card I made a little while ago but not posted it yet.  Well, I posted it to the recipient but didn't post it on here.  You know what I mean!

I just love this stamp and get it out to use any time I can.  I love to spend a happy hour colouring in with my Copics - reminds me of old times!  Snippets galore have been used as well as some VOS being the flowers and buttons.  The buttons were given to me by someone I work with in a very old tin just like my Grandmother used to have.

I am taking this down to the Snippets Playground.  Hopefully the weather has dried up enough to have a play on the twampoline before it gets packed away for winter!

Have a good day!

Jumping for joy.....House Mouse

Hello Friends

Happy Weekend to y'all in whatever you are up to.  I shall be hard at the windows again.  Feel free to join in to help me out. Pleeeeeeeease!

Our friends over at the House Mouse & Friends Challenge have asked to add some schparkle.  A friend of mine asked me if I could make her a card for a sewing friend and I remembered a set of stamps I bought at Ally Pally that were crying out to be used so out it came.  I think this little fella is jumping for joy that he has been stamped!!

The image was stamped with Momento and coloured in with Copics. Each pin head has been stickled with corresponding spots on the Snippet of ribbon.
The background paper is some Boofle paper and the pale green is the last Snippety piece that was in one of the first layouts I ever did at a workshop!  The purple ribbons came out of my Snippets ribbon basket too.
This lickle mouse is soo tired.  I had better look in my thimbles to see if there are any House Mouses in them!

Thanks for calling by.  Have a great weekend whatever you are doing.  I shall be popping over to the Playground to see how the water pistol practice firing is going!

Hugs

Always room for cake...

Hello Friends

I don't want to sound like I am moaning or nuffink, but I am finding my craft room too hot to work in when it has been shut up all day so crafting has resorted to little bits that I can do on the patio when I come in from work. Hubby has also been working on days and so by the time he gets home, we have tea it really is too late to go up.

Here is a card I made for my friend's little girl at the end of last month.  She is very much a girly girl and loves pink so I had to comply....

Who can resist a House Mouse image and cupcakes?  I coloured the image in with Copics and schparkly embossed part of the icing.  I cut out some Sizzix cupcakes on the B/S and added a little ribbon and pearls mounting them all on to some pink paper I have had forever!

The image kinda looks like I must have late yesterday afternoon.  I sat on the patio in the hazy sun intending to do a little painting and the next thing I knew it was nearly time for Mr Hettie to arrive home and I had lost an hour!!  Oops!  I am telling you this in confidence so no telling anyone ok?

I am entering this into the House Mouse Challenge as this week is Food!  How fortuitous is that?  Thanks Di!

Off to the Playground now to see if anyone is on the hammock.  If that blinkin' parrot will stay quiet enough and away from me I can hopefully have another snooze before I have to head back to the office.

Have a great day.  Friday is so close now I can smell it!

Hugs

Been Playing Again!!

Hello Friends

Sorry I have not been around much this last few days, but between you and me I have a bit of a topsy turvy few days!!

My weekend started with my friend cancelling our scrappy day on Saturday. I had a nice day weeding and felt pretty darned chuffed with my efforts (three large green bags to go to the tip).  I was happily making my latest quilting project only to receive a phone call from my Dad telling me that my Mum had been rushed in to hospital with a suspected heart attack!

I don't mind telling you that sent me all of a quiver!!  Before you fret, Mum is a little better!  Still in hospital with a kidney infection and undergoing more tests to find out why her chest is painful.  It might just be something to do with the moving of heavy sewing machines last week that my Dad told me about this morning!  Tut Tut!  Not that I would do such a thing at 82!!!  Dad also told me that Mum was a little more perky this morning and he managed to speak to her which settled my mind a little.

So today I thought I would share a couple of cards I made recently when I took delivery of some Spellbinders dies that were going on Ebay very cheap (£10 inc post and brand new never-been-out-of-the-box).  I rummaged in both my Snippets tin for stampings and my Snippets boxes and managed to pull these papers together.  Just love House Mouse Stamps!

I love the way you can alternate and layer these dies to get different effects with the points, and the strip dies are the ones I showed you the other week.
One of these cards is a Thank You card and the other is a Get Well card, which I made just to go in my collection when I had need of it.  Looks like I will be using the Get Well card a little quicker I had planned.

I have also spied a new follower, Lucy and thank you for following me!

Just going to rush off to the Playground with these little cards, but better throw my hat in first as I have not been in there for a few days!

First Visit to the Playground this week

Hello Friends

Here we are on Monday morning, the start to another working week.  It is too dark to know what the weather has in store for us, but the forecast was good!

Here I am showing you a card I made recently for my friend Debbie's Birthday, which was made using Snippets, Liquid pearls, Stampin Up, EK Success and Martha Stewart punches, a sentiment which I have had for eons and a stamping from House Mouse coloured in with Copics.
And  here you can see some stickles which I painted on the ribbon.
Off to play in the Playground with this now.

I wonder if Teacher has chosen what colour the inside of the Treehouse will be painted yet? No doubt it will be some shade of pink!

Have a good week.

Use it Up Birthday Card

Hello Friends

My Buddy Sandra has been a good influence on me and I have been using up some of my  bits 'n pieces that I have had in my Craft Room for a while including stamped images, papers, cards, Snippets and the like.  Here is a Birthday Card I have made using a stamped House Mouse image which my good Buddy sent to me a while ago.

Coloured in with my Copics and a little sparkly embossing powder to add some sparkle to the icing.
The card itself came in a kit from a well known TV Shopping channel with three letters a loooong time ago, and I am not keen on them because they are pre-printed so you have to choose carefully what you are going to put on them but I think this image works.  A few old brads and some ribbled cardstock (which is straight honest) and a little Banana Frog sentiment stamped and cut with a Nestie.

I am linking this up to the Playground as there are a few Snippets used in this card.

Thanks for popping by.  The Treehouse is now complete I believe though it needs some decorating and finishing off inside.  Just as well as the weather is sooo pants now!

It's Friday so Friday Snippets Time

Good Evening Peeps

Yes I know.  It is not Friday.  But you see I started the post on Friday but err, fell asleep whilst having a hug on the settee with Hubby and err, woke up on Saturday!  So I folded away the laptop and now I am posting it on Saturday night!

I have here two birthday cards, which I have made for lickle people but in different colourways.  Top one for Ryan who was two this week and the lower one for Carmen who will be 6 next week.

As you may tell, I am now using circles!  If you know me, you will know that I cannot cut circles to save my life.  My secret??  Treated myself to a set of Nesties in, yep, you guessed it, circles!!  Lurve them!  It is great that you can line the stamping up and cut whilst seeing what you are doing!
I did buy a circle cutter a while ago, but I don't get very good results with it and am generally disappointed with it and it was not cheap :-(

Anyhoo, both designs are House Mouse stamps which were coloured using Copics (love them), stamped with a freebie from Do Crafts.  All papers came out of my Snippets box (es) so that means I get to play in the Playground with our lovely Leader Di (aka Piglet!).

Right, just come back from a fabby meal with the family for my Brother's 50th.  Will show you his card later this week!

Hugs

It is Friday - so it is Snippets Night

Hello Crafters

Yeay! It is Friday so officially in the Hettie Household it is the weekend.  I wish you all a very good weekend in whatever it is you are doing!  I have a lovely RSCDS Ball in Cardiff tomorrow evening and I am very much looking forward to it.  I have managed to slim down enough to wear my lovely posh ballgown so I have dusted it down, had my hair cut so off to the Ball I shall go!!    This is the dress...(though unfortunately my Beau will not be coming due to being in work!)

Rightio.  Down to business ey!

If you read my posting the other day you will know that I have decided to devote Tuesdays to Scrapbooking projects - dubbed Scrappie Tuesday by my Hubby and Fridays I am devoting to Snippets - dubbed Friday Snippets (how original but this is the best my brain cell could think of!).  This is so I only do one posting (except last Sunday's but that was Mothering Sunday) and poor Di doesn't have to route around my blog looking for all the posts.   And NO Di - you are not having my PINK chair!!

So here are the cards I have made this week which are all Snippets....

Right then.  Gotta get on as I am still in need of more stuff for my stall.  I only found out about it while I was in Prague, then I have been poorly and working full time has all stacked against me but the proceeds are for our local Community Hall so I don't mind at all.  I was going to show you some bookmarks I have made but Blogger/internet is so slow it has taken over an hour to upload these pictures!  Grrr!

Why don't you use up some of your Snippets and make something, show it on your blog and link up with the Lovely Di and join us in the Playground.  We might even let you play in the duck pond!!  Though I have been playing with my kite alot this last week in my new wellies!!

Whatever you do, enjoy it!

Blogging can lead to some wonderful Friends - Snippets 3

Hello Peeps

Another posting for the Snippets Challenge in my attempt to make more cards in advance of Birthdays, Christenings, Weddings etc instead of making things last minute.......

and.....

The images for these cards were sent to me by my Buddy Sandra - hence the title of my posting.  They are one of the House Mouse stamps.  I made a comment on a post of Sandra's  a little while ago and the next thing I was opening an envelope of similar such stamped images including these two little Mices!  Thanks Sandra.  As a result of a little banter between us we have now become good friends and are regularly in touch.
Who would have known this would happen when I dipped my toes into the blogging world?  Sandra isn't the only kindhearted person whom I have met in the blogging world and who I am proud to call my Buddy.  I appreciate each and every one of you.  So this post and these cards are Just For You - My Blogging Buddies!  You all know who you are!
And Di! Am I allowed into the Playground twice?

All the images have been coloured using Copics - the With Love and Just For You words came from another friend Debbie who gave me an envelope of little bits some time ago, and which I am trying to use rather than keep them in a drawer.  The flowers have been made by moi using a Tonic Punch and some very sticky Glossy Accents!  Ribbon from Ribbon Girl.

Hope you like and please do leave me a comment!
