Twofer Squares

I made these cards for the Twofer Challenge - this month there is a 'Free Choice' so I have chosen a small Lawn Fawn stitched square die to make a birthday card and a Christmas card.

Twofer One - Happy Birthday

I attached small snippets of green, purple, turquoise and yellow star patterned paper to a piece of thin paper to give them a bit more strength for die cutting.  I then die cut four small stitched squares from each colour.  I attached the squares to a piece of white card using wet glue to give some 'wriggle room' and line up the squares.  Once the panel had dried I trimmed around the edge and attached it to the centre of the card.  I then die cut 'Happy Birthday' from white card and attached it to the upper corner of the patchwork panel.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white matt card blank
Lawn Fawn 'Outside In Stitched Square Stackables' and  Crafts-Too 'Happy Birthday' dies
Snippets of Lili of the Valley 'Galaxy Stars' paper and white matt card

I am entering the following challenges:
AAA Birthday Card Challenge - Patterned Paper
Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes With Dies - March Challenge
     Pixie's Snippets Playground - Challenge 398

Twofer Two - Christmas

I die cut the small stitched square from kraft card and attached it to the card blank.  I die cut the three different sizes of poinsettia leaves from dark red textured card, layered them and attached them to the kraft square. I die cut six small berries from kraft card and attached to the centre of the poinsettia.

To make this card I used:
     5" x 5" white hammer card blank
Lawn Fawn 'Outside In Stitched Square Stackables', All-Occasion Dies 'Small Poinsettia' and Memory Box 'Mini Holly Leaves' dies
Snippets of kraft card and dark red textured card

I am entering the following challenges:
CAS Christmas - Kraft, Red and White
Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge - Anything Goes
Merry Little Christmas Challenge - Anything Christmas Goes

Twofer Butterflies

I made these cards for the Twofer Challenge where the prompt is 'Butterflies'.  I have used my Memory Box 'Kaleidoscope Butterfly' die to make a friendship card and a birthday card.

Twofer One - Hello

I trimmed the marbled paper, layered it onto grey textured card and attached it to the centre of the card blank.  I die cut 'hello' and the butterfly from both white hammer and grey textured card.  I layered the two sentiment die cuts to form a shadow and attached it to the lower corner.  The white butterfly was also layered onto the grey die cut and attached to the upper corner.  The butterfly body was cut from white card and attached at the centre.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white hammer card blank
Memory Box 'Kaleidoscope Butterfly' and Altenew ' Simply Hello' dies
Snippets of marbled paper, white hammer and grey textured card

I am entering the following challenges:
Allsorts - I spy with my little eye something beginning with B (Butterflies)
NBUS Challenge - Challenge 16 (my 'Hello' stamp is NBUS)
     Pixie's Snippets Playground - Challenge 382

Twofer Two - Happy Birthday To You

I trimmed a piece of white hammer card so it was slightly smaller than the card blank and rounded the corners.  I die cut the wicker panel from white hammer card and attached it across the panel.  I stamped the sentiment below the wicker strip and attached the panel to the card blank.  I didn't have any dark purple card for my butterfly, so I glued two snippets of purple paper together to die cut the butterfly which was then attached onto the wicker panel.  To finish I attached three small white crystal stickers to the card.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white hammer card blank
Memory Box 'Kaleidoscope Butterfly' and 'Wicker Panel' dies
     Hobby Art 'General Greetings' stamp
     Versafine Imperial Purple Ink
Snippets of Polka Doodles 'Fourini' paper and white hammer card
     Mark Richard Crystal Stickers

I am entering the following challenges:
AAA Cards - Made in Minutes
Pearly Sparkles Challenge - Three of a Kind (I used three Crystal Stickers)
Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes

Twofer Hearts

My first post this week is for the Twofer Challenge where the prompt is 'Hearts'.  I had made these cards to post last week, but couldn't get enough daylight to photograph them so have saved the post for today.  I've used a Clearly Bessotted 'With All Your Heart' die to make an anniversary card and a notecard.

Onefer - Happy Anniversary

To make this CAS Anniversary card I trimmed a piece of card slightly smaller than the card blank and rounded the corners.  I stamped and embossed the sentiment along the lower edge and attached the panel to the card.  I stamped and embossed five hearts and die cut them with the coordinating die.  The hearts were attached above the sentiment using wet glue to give me a little 'wriggle room' to get them straight.

To make this card I used:
     5" x 5" white hammer card blank
Clearly Besotted 'With All Your Heart' stamps and coordinating die
     Hobby Art 'General Greetings' stamp
     Versafine Satin Red ink
     Stampendous clear embossing powder

I am entering the following challenges:
Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes With Dies

Twofer - Just for You

I attached a snippet of pink paper to the front of the card, leaving a border around the edge.  I trimmed a snippet of white card slightly smaller than the pink layer and stamped the sentiment in the lower corner.  The panel was then attached to the card.  I attached more snippets of pink paper to a piece of white card and die cut four hearts attaching them to the card to make a flower.  I added a purple sparkly gem to the centre of the flower and highlighted the sentiment with a Wink of Stella.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 4" white hammer card blank
Clearly Besotted 'With All Your Heart' die
     Clearly Besotted 'Fancy Sayings' stamp
     Versafine Imperial Purple ink
Snippets of Hot off the Press 'Ultimate Floral Pack' pink paper and  white hammer card
     Purple sparkly gem
     Wink of Stella

I am entering the following challenges:
Allsorts - More than a Single Word Sentiment

Twofer Balloons

I made these cards for the Twofer Card Challenge where the prompt is 'Balloons' and have used a Memory Box 'Beautiful Balloon' die to make my cards.

Onefer - Let Your Dreams Take Flight

I'm entering the Cuttlebug Mania 'We are Not Blue' challenge (I have two different blues on the paper, the blue card and blue ink), Die Cut Divas 'Anything Goes' challenge and Crafty Creations Challenges 'Anything Goes'.

5" x 5" white matt card blank
Memory Box 'Beautiful Balloons' and Spellbinders Nestabilities Circles Large dies
Kars tan embossing mat
Hot off the Press 'Feathers' sentiment stamp
Memento Paris Dusk ink
Quick Cards magazine 'Lets Fly Away' paper
Dark blue pearlescent and white matt card

I trimmed blue pearlescent card so it was slightly smaller than the card blank.  I trimmed a piece of white matt card slightly smaller than the blue layer. before die cutting and embossing a circle from the centre.  I cut a piece of cloud paper to fit behind the aperture and stamped the sentiment in the lower corner.  The white aperture card, cloud paper and blue card were layered and attached to the card front.  I die cut and embossed a Beautiful Balloon from blue pearlescent card and used foam tape to attach it to the card.

Twofer - Sending Birthday Wishes

I made this card for the The Flower Challenge 'Anything Goes' and The Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies  challenge.  The paper and card were from my snippets drawer so I'm also heading in the playground at Pixies' Crafty Workshop.

7" x 5" cream matt card blank
Memory Box 'Beautiful Balloons' and Memory Box 'Prim Poppy' dies
The Best of Card Making Magic sentiment stamp
Versafine Habanero ink
Snippets of Lili of the Valley 'Antebellum' paper, bronze pearlescent card, green and orange textured card

I trimmed the edges of the paper so it was slightly smaller than the card blank and using my MISTI stamped the sentiment in the lower corner.  I die cut two Beautiful Balloons from bronze card and snipped the middle of one of them to form a small channel halfway down the centre (this was for the flower stems to slot into).  I then layered the two balloons.  I die cut the Prim Poppy stem from green card and two flowers from orange card.  I snipped the flowers from the green stems before attaching the stem to the back of the balloon vase and then onto the card.  I attached the two layers of flowers to the tops of the stems, snipping the lower orange flower so the bottom layer was attached around the stem.

Twofer Geometric

I made these cards for the Twofer Card Challenge where the prompt is 'Geometric'.  I have used a Spellbinders Nestabilities Square die to make a friendship card and a birthday card.

Onefer - Friendship Card

I made this thrifty card using the front of an M&S gift card my nephew sent for my birthday together with stars and sequins from the birthday card my brother-in-law sent me.  I'm entering Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge 'Anything Goes'.

Card blank: 5" x 5" white matt
Stamp: Stamps for All Occasions (magazine freebie)
Die: Spellbinders Nestabilities 'Classic Squares Large'
Embossing: Kars tan embossing mat
Ink: Versafine Imperial Purple
Card: Upcycled gift card
Paper: Lili of the Valley 'Timeless Victorian'
Other: Acetate, sequins and stars (upcycled from birthday card)

I die cut and embossed a square from the centre of the gift card front (to remove the M&S logo) and trimmed the square so it was slightly smaller than the front of the card blank.  I attached a piece of acetate to the rear and wiped an anti-static pad across it before attaching foam tape around the edges of the aperture.  I stamped the sentiment onto a snippet of purple paper and attached it to the rear of the acetate aperture on three sides.  I tipped the sequins and stars behind the acetate and then fastened it on the fourth side.  This panel was then attached to the front of the card blank with foam tape.

Twofer - Birthday

I made this card from snippets of paper and card so I'm heading into the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop as well as entering Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge.

Card blank: 7" x 7" white matt
Dies: Spellbinders Nestabilities 'Classic Squares Large: Creative Expressions 'Mini Happy Birthday.
Embossing: Kars tan embossing mat
Snippets: BoBunny 'Isabella' paper (magazine freebie), dark brown matt card

I die cut and embossed several squares from the Isabella paper and cut some of them in half to make the triangles for the edges of the patchwork.  I then glued these to brown card with Tombow liquid glue to give a bit of 'wriggle room'.  I found this glue to be a little too wet for the paper and the card started to curl a bit, so I placed a piece of kitchen paper on top of the patchwork and a heavy book on top and left it to dry for a while.  Once it had dried I trimmed around the edge of the patchwork and then attached the square to the card blank.  I trimmed a strip of pink paper and layered it onto brown card before die cutting the sentiment.  This panel was then attached across the centre of the card before I inlaid the sentiment I had die cut from brown card.

Twofer Hearts

It's time for the second Twofer Card Challenge and this month the challenge is 'Hearts'.  I've used my Impression Obsession 'Heart of Hearts' die to make an anniversary card and a birthday card.

Onefer - Happy Anniversary

I'm also entering the Die cut Divas 'Love is in the Air' and Crafty Cardmakers 'Love and Romance' challenges. I'm also dashing across to the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop with my snippets.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white hammer
Stamp: Hobby Art 'General Greetings'
Die: Impression Obsession 'Heart of Hearts'
Ink: Versafine Crimson Red
Snippets: White hammer, red pearlescent and red mirri card

I die cut the Heart of Hearts from white hammer card and set aside the small hearts for my Twofer card.  I trimmed the card and stamped the greeting below the heart.  This panel was then layered onto red pearlescent card.  I die cut the heart from snippets of red pearlescent and red mirri card and inlaid the small hearts.  I placed a piece of paper over the panel before running it through my Cuttlebug to make sure the inlaid hearts were flat and then attached the panel to the card front.

Twofer - Another Year Flies By

I made this birthday card using the hearts I had set aside from my Onfer card.  I'm entering the Butterfly Challenge 'Spin the Butterfly Wheel with the Letter P' (I have chosen Purple and Patterned Paper) and the Cuttlebug Mania 'Colour Challenge' (I have chosen Purple, Lilac and White),

Card blank: 6" x 6" white hammer
Stamp: Ultimate Crafts 'Another Year Flies By' (magazine freebie)
Dies: Impression Obsession 'Heart of Hearts', Memory Box Kaleidoscope Butterfly, Spellbinders Nestabilities Standard Circles Large & Classic Scalloped Circles Large
Embossing: Kars tan embossing mat
Ink: Versafine Imperial Purple
Card: Purple pearlescent
Paper: Lili of the Valley 'Timeless Victorian'
Other: Wink of Stella

I glued the hearts around the edge of the card front (I noticed there was a smudge of glue by one of the hearts and used the Sand Eraser I won from Di to remove it - it worked a treat and there's no sign of the mark).  I die cut and embossed a circle from a snippet of purple paper and using my MISTI I stamped the sentiment on the paler part of the paper.  This was layered onto a die cut and embossed purple scalloped circle and then attached to the centre of the card with foam tape.  I die cut a Kaleidoscope butterfly from purple card and attached it to the top of the circle.  To finish I highlighted the sentiment with a Wink of Stella.

Twofer Feathers

I made these cards for Darnell's first Twofer Card Challenge where the prompt word is 'Feathers'.  My first challenge was to find some feathers and remembered this stamp and die set that were magazine freebies a while ago.

Onefer - Thank You

I'm also entering this card into Sparkles Monthly Challenge 'Thank You', Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes With Dies challenge and  Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge 'Anything Goes'

Card blank: 6" x 4" white silk
Dies: Hot off the Press 'Feather', Cheery Lynn 'Thank You 2'
Card: White silk
Paper: Lili of the Valley 'Enchantment'
Other: Upcyled gold bow (from a Christmas card)

I decided to inlay the dies so attached two pieces of dark green paper to thin white card so they would be the same thickness as the card into which they would be inlaid.  I die cut 'Thank You' and the feather before setting them aside. Although it doesn't show in the photographs, the paper has small flowers and thin lines that look like feathers and I managed to cut the feather without flowers and had just the feather lines showing.  I trimmed a piece of white card so it was a couple of centimetres smaller than the card front then die cut 'Thank You' and the feather.  This panel was layered onto another piece of the Enchantment paper before being attached to the front of the card.  I inlaid the die cuts and added a small gold bow.

Twofer - You are in my Thoughts

I'm also entering this card in the Less is More 'Purples' challenge, the Alphabet Challenge 'Use Three of Something' (I used three stamps) and Allsorts 'No Patterned Papers' challenge.

Card blank: 6" x 4" white silk
Stamps: Hot off the Press 'Feather, Woodware 'Wheat'
Ink: Brilliance Pearlescent Purple, Versafine Imperial Purple
Card: White silk, purple matt

I trimmed a piece of white card so it was a couple of centimetres smaller than the card blank and then placed it into my magic MISTI.  I stamped the sentiment in the lower corner, stamping it a couple of times to get a darker colour ink.  I stamped the solid feather die in Pearlescent Purple.  When this had dried I lined up the lined feather die and stamped it in Imperial Purple.  The panel was then layered onto purple card and attached to the card front.
