February Rudolph Day

I was so pleased when my January Rudolph Day card was a Top Pick in the January challenge and Helen invited me to be Guest Designer on the February Rudolph Day challenge.  My RD theme for this year is die cutting and I've used a Nativity Bauble die for my card.

To make this card I used:
     5" x 5" white matt card blank
     Memory Box 'Nativity Bauble' dies
Snippets of white matt card card, dark blue pearlescent card, gold mirri and Funky Fossil 'In To The Blue' paper

I trimmed a piece of white matt card so it was slightly smaller than the card blank.  I die cut the Nativity Bauble from the centre of the panel before attaching it to the card.  I die cut the bauble from dark blue pearlescent card and inlaid it into the aperture.  I then die cut the Bauble again from the snippet of Funky Fossil paper and inlaid it into the bauble.  To finish I die cut the two stars from gold mirri, layered them and attached them to the top of the bauble.

I am entering the following challenges:
ABC Christmas Challenge - D is for Die Cuts
A Cut Above - Anything Goes with a Die Cut
     Allsorts - Shades of Blue
     Krafty Chicks Challenge - CAS
Little Red Wagon - Winter Blues

September Rudolph Day

It's time for the ninth Rudolph Day of the year and another green and gold Christmas card (green and gold cards are my RD theme for this year).  My August Rudolph Day card was one of Helen's Top Three and she has invited me to be one of her Guest Designers for the September Rudolph Day challenge - thank you Helen!

To make this card I used:
     7" x 5" white matt card blank
     Woodware 'Snow is Falling' stamp
     Versafine Olympia Green ink
Cosmic Shimmer Clear Detail embossing powder
     Gold holographic peel-off dots
     Snippet of white matt card

I trimmed the white card so it was slightly smaller than the card blank and placed it into my MISTI.  I stamped the tree and sentiment with green ink, stamping several times to get a good depth of colour before embossing them with clear embossing powder.  The panel was then attached to the front of the card.  To finish I attached small gold peel-off dots around the tree.

I am entering the following challenges:
ABC Christmas Challenge - T for Traditional Colours
Christmas Crafts All Year Round - Trees
     Krafty Chicks Challenge - CAS
Merry Little Christmas Challenge - Anything Christmas Goes
     Stamping Sensations - Anything Goes
We Love Stamping - Anything Goes

February Rudolph Day

A big 'Thank You' to ScrappyMo for inviting me to be her Guest Designer for the February Rudolph Day challenge.  I'm using another precoloured image from the Lili of the Valley 'Festive Foliage' Art Pad. There are ten different images in the Art Pad, I used one for the January challenge and plan to use the other images for the next eight challenges, with something different in November!

I'm entering this card for the Merry Monday 'Stockings' challenge, A Gem of a Challenge 'Your Favourite Colour Combo' challenge (I love traditional red and green for Christmas cards), Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge 'Anything Goes' and Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra.

Card blank: 7" x 5" white silk
Image: Lili of the Valley 'Festive Foliage' Art Pad
Punch: Woodware squared corner
Card: Gold mirri
Paper: Lili of the Valley ' 'Classic Christmas'
Other: Wink of Stella, Woodware 'Christmas Sentiments' and stars peel-offs

I trimmed the holly paper, layered it onto gold mirri and attached it to the card front. I trimmed the pre-coloured image, punched the corners, layered it onto gold mirri and attached it to the centre of the card.  I added the 'Joy' and stars peel-offs and highlighted the stockings with a Wink of Stella.

June Rudolph Day

This is my final Rudolph Day card as part of ScrappyMo's design team and I've used a lovely die cut which ScrappyMo sent me in a surprise package.  I'm entering this card into the Merry Monday 'Peace, Joy and/or Love' challenge where we need to use one or more of the words - I've managed two!  I'm also entering Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge 'Anything Goes' and Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra where 'Anything Goes as long as it's Christmas'.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white hammer
Die: Creative Expressions 'Christmas Tree Greetings'
Card: Green matt, red glitter
Paper: Wild Rose Studio 'Painted Poinsettias'
Other: Red nailheads

I trimmed the paper, layered it onto green card and attached it to the card front.  ScrappyMo had die cut this beautiful image from red glitter card, so all I had to do was attach it to the centre of the card. To balance the floral image on the paper I added three nailheads to the top corner of the card.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's entries into this challenge and don't forget there is a fabulous prize for one lucky winner who will be chosen at random - this month it's a Memory Box Holly Leaf Border die.

April Rudolph Day

This is my second Rudolph Day card as part of Scrappymo's Design Team and I've used another lovely pre-coloured Lili of the Valley topper - one of the great images I won as my prize a few weeks ago.  I'm also entering this card into A Gem of a Challenge 'Teddy Bears', Christmas Card Challenges 'Anything Goes, Crafty Friends 'All Things Cute' challenge and ABC Christmas Challenge  'H for Hat'.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white silk
Image: Lili of the Valley 'James in the Snow' pre-coloured topper
Card: Silver mirri
Paper: Lili of the Valley 'Frosty Christmas'
Other: Stampendous Fun Flock, Diamond Stickles, pale blue gems

I trimmed the Merry Christmas paper, layered it onto silver mirri and attached it to the card blank.  I trimmed the topper, layered it onto silver mirri and attached it to the centre of the card.  I added white Fun Flock to the hat trim and Stickles to the snow around James' feet and the snowflakes.  To finish I added pale blue gems to the top and bottom corners of the card.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's entries into this challenge and don't forget there is a fabulous prize on offer - a choice of either a Memory Box 'Small Blooming Poinsettia' die or a Wild Rose Studio 'Girl with Christmas Bouquet' stamp.

February Rudolph Day

A big 'thank you' to ScrappyMo for inviting me to be part of her Rudolph Day Challenge Design Team for February, April and June.  This is my card for the first challenge using a cute pre-coloured Lili of the Valley topper (I love these images) and a co-ordinating paper.

Card blank: 7" x 5" white silk tent fold
Image: Lili of the Valley 'Merry Christmas Penguins' pre-coloured topper
Punches: Woodware Large and Regular Snowflakes
Card: Silver mirri
Paper: Turquoise/silver snowflake (magazine freebie)
Other: Pearls, Wink of Stella

I layered the turquoise/silver paper onto silver mirri and attached it to the card blank.  I trimmed the top and bottom of the topper (it was originally a square), then layered it onto silver mirri before attaching it to the card.  I punched three snowflakes, attached them to the card and added small pearls to the centre of each snowflake.  To finish, I highlighted the snow with a Wink of Stella.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's entries into this challenge and don't forget there is a fabulous prize on offer - a Memory Box Holly Leaf Border die!

January Rudolph Day

I was over the moon when ScrappyMo invited me to be one of her Guest Designers for the January Rudolph Day.

Rudolph Day runs from the 25 to 31 January and the theme is 'Anything Goes as long as it's Christmas'.  The winner will be chosen by random draw on 1 February and this month the prize is a fabulous Memory Box die - so make sure you join in the fun!

My Rulolph Day cards are quick and simple as they are usually the ones that I make in batches and this card is no exception.

Card blank: 6" x 4" white silk
Stamps: Magenta 'Floral Holiday Trio' and Woodware 'Snow is Falling'
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black
Colouring: Promarkers
Card: Red mirri and white silk card
Other: Wink of Stella

I stamped the image onto white card and coloured it with Promarkers.   This was then trimmed to size, layered onto red mirri card and attached to the card blank.  The sentiment was stamped directly onto the front of the card.  To finish, I outlined the the image with Wink of Stella.
