Snow Drifters

It's time for the first challenge of the year at Winter Wonderland and our challenges are now monthly with all the DT making cards for each challenge..  I'm hosting this challenge and have chosen 'It's Snowtime' as our theme.  We're sponsored by Becky's Place and the lucky winner will receive two digi stamps of their choice.

Becky has generously given me this image to use from the lovely Snow Drifters set so I'm entering my card into the Becky's Place January Challenge.  I'm also entering the Imagine That Digistamp Challenge 'Anything Goes', ABC Christmas Challenge 'A is for Anything Christmas Goes' and the Merry Little Christmas Challenge 'Anything Christmas Goes'.

6" x 6" white matt card blank
Becky's Place 'Snow Drifters' digi stamp
Promarkers
Silver mirri and white matt card
Blue snowflake  paper (make unknown)
Wink of Stella
Computer generated sentiment 'Footlight MT Light' font

I trimmed the blue snowflake paper, layered it onto silver mirri and attached it to the card front.  I resized the digi and added the sentiment before printing it onto white card.  The image was trimmed and coloured with Promarkers before being layered onto silver mirri and attached to the centre of the card.  To finish I added a Wink of Stella to the edges of the scarf and pom pom.

Another Zoo Animal

I've made another card for the Alphabet Challenge 'Z for Zoo Animals' using some pre-coloured Lili of the Valley Jungle Cuddlies toppers and papers.  I'm also entering the Allsorts 'Birthday Wishes', Seize the Birthday 'Anything Goes' and Becky's Place February challenges.

Card blank: 7" x 5" white silk tent fold
Image: Lili of the Valley 'Jungle Cuddlies' Honey topper and sentiment
Card: Brown matt
Paper: Lili of the Valley 'Jungle Cuddlies' green leaf and green spot

I layered a piece of green leaf paper onto brown card and attached this to the card front.  A strip of green spot paper was layered onto brown card and attached to the card to cover the join in the papers. I cut the three Honey image - a whole image with the backing paper, fussy cut one complete Honey and fussy cut one Honey head.  These were shaped and decoupaged using Pinflair glue.  This panel was then layered onto brown card and attached to the card with Pinflair glue.  To finish, I cut a sentiment, layered it onto brown card and attached it with Pinflair glue.

Butterfly Post

The latest Butterfly Challenge is 'S for Stamping and/or Sapphire' and I've made this small notelet using both stamping and various shades of blue.  I'm also entering Becky's Place February challenge.

Card blank: 5" x 5" white silk
Stamp: Butterfly Post (magazine freebie)
Punch: Woodware 2" square
Embossing: Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots', Stampendous clear embossing powder
Ink: Versafine Majestic Blue
Colouring: Faber-Castell colour pencils
Card:  Turquoise mirri and white silk
Other: Wink of Stella

I embossed a square of white card with the Swiss Dots embossing folder, layered it onto turquoise mirri (I didn't have any dark blue mirri and my thrifty crafting year is making me use what I have before I buy any more!) then attached this to the card front.  The image was stamped onto white silk card, embossed with clear embossing powder before I punched a square.  I coloured the background of the stamp with a lemon pencil and the butterfly with dark blue, pale blue and turquoise pencils before highlighting the wings with a Wink of Stella.  The image was layered onto a snippet of turquoise mirri card before being attached to the card front with Pinflair glue.

With Love on Our Anniversary

I made this card for my OH for our forthcoming wedding anniversary and am entering it into the Winter Wonderland 'Have a Heart' (there is one on my card), the Little Claire Designs 'Love and Marriage' (our wedding anniversary), Alphabet Challenge 'Y for You Choose' (I love die-cutting, so chose to enter this card) and Becky's Place February challenges.

Card blank: 7" x 7" white silk
Die: Apple Blossom 'Flourish Heart' (magazine freebie)
Card: Red pearl, white silk printable
Paper: Docrafts Forever Friends Classic Decadence (magazine freebie)
Other: Computer generated sentiment (Harrington font)

I layered a square of grey metallic patterned paper onto red pearl card and attached it to the card front.  I printed the sentiment onto white card, trimmed it to size, layered it onto red pearl card and attached it to the card front.  I die cut the Flourish Heart and attached it above the sentiment.

Shades of Orange Christmas

I made this card for the current 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown 'Shades of Orange' challenge.   I am also entering it into the ABC Christmas Challenge 'A is for Anything Goes' challenge, Becky's Place January Challenge and the snippets challenge at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank: 7" x 5" white silk
Stamp: Woodware 'Christmas Bubble Tree'
Embossing: Stamps Away clear embossing powder
Ink: Versafine Vintage Sepia
Colouring: Bruynzeel coloured pencils
Other: Glossy Accents
Snippets: Orange mirri and white card, orange paper

I stamped and embossed the Christmas tree and sentiment onto white card.  This was trimmed, layered onto orange mirri card and attached to the card front.  I paper pieced the tree trunk using a snippet of orange paper.  The baubles were coloured with various shades of orange coloured pencils and finished with Glossy Accents.

Happy Birthday Emma

I've never used digi stamps, but I won some stamps in a challenge last year and chose ‘Cocktail Emma’ as I thought it would be perfect for my niece’s birthday.  I’m entering this card into Becky's Place January Challenge, As You Like It 'Anything Goes' challenge (I love this digi as it reminds me of  my lovely niece!) and Seize the Birthday 'Anything Goes' challenge.

Card blank: 7” x 7” white silk
Digi Stamp: Pink Gem Designs pre-coloured ‘Cocktail Emma’
Colouring: Sandstone & Cinnamon Promarkers
Card: White smooth, pink Moondust, black matt
Other: Computer generated sentiment ‘ Harrington’ font, Star Dust Stickles, Wink of Stella

I used the pre-coloured image and slightly reduced the size before adding my sentiment, this was then printed onto white card.  I trimmed the image to size, layered it onto pink Moondust and black card before attaching it to my card front.  Although the image was pre-coloured, I used Promarkers to darken Emma’s hair, to match the colour of my niece’s hair.  I then added Star Dust Stickles to the shoes, dress frill, star and ear rings and a Wink of Stella to the cherries.
