Hope Your Day is Glorious

I made this card for a friend's birthday and chose to colour the flowers so they look like Michaelmas Daisies, which are one of my favourite autumn flowers.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white matt card blank
Stampendous 'Daisy Birthday' and Woodware 'The Hedgerow' stamps
     Memento Tuxedo Black ink
     Promarkers
     Papermania Shimmering Dots
Snippets of white matt and brown pearlescent card

I trimmed the snippet of white card to a 4.75" x 4.75" square.  The daisy is a cling stamp, so I removed the foam from my MISTI before placing the card into it and stamping the flowers with black ink.  I replaced the foam pad and then stamped the sentiment above the flowers.  I then coloured the flowers with Promarkers.  The panel was layered onto a slightly larger square of brown pearlescent card and attached to the card blank.   To finish I added three small shimmering dots around the flowrs.

I am entering the following challenges:
     Allsorts - Anything Goes
Daisy Chain Challenge - Autumn and/or Halloween (I've chosen autumn flowers)
Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes
     Stamping Sensations - Autumn Colours
     We Love Stamping - Autumn

Lighthouse Collage

I spotted this preloved Stampendous 'Lighthouse Collage' stamp in a charity shop last week and couldn't resist buying it as it was a 20p bargain!  It was another wooden stamp but, like my Woodware stamps, I was able to peel the whole stamp from the rubber block so I can use it in my MISTI.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white matt card blank
Stampendous 'Lighthouse Collage' and Practical Publishing 'Stamps for All Occasions' stamps
     Versafine Vintage Sepia ink
Snippets of brown card and Marianne Design 'Watercolour' paper

As the foam was still on the back of the stamp I removed the foam pad from my MISTI before using brown ink to stamp the image onto a snippet of blue watercolour paper.  I replaced the foam pad into the MISTI and lined the 'Happy Birthday' sentiment to the right before stamping it a couple of times with brown ink to ensure it was the same depth of colour as the collage.  I trimmed the panel to 5" x 5", layered it onto dark brown card and attached it to the centre of the card blank.

I am entering the following challenges:
Cardz 4 Guyz - Something New from Stash (I have used a 'new to me' stamp)
Make My Monday - Happy Birthday
Moving Along With The Times - New Craft Item (I have used my new Stampendous stamp)
Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes

January Rudolph Day

It's time for the first Rudolph Day of the year!  For the past few years I've had a theme for my Rudolph Day cards - in 2017 I used images from a Lili of the Valley 'Festive Foliage' Art Pad, in 2018 I made 4" x 4" cards and last year all of my cards had a Christmas tree.  I've decided that this year my theme will be embossing - wet and/or dry.

This card has both wet and dry embossing.  I embossed a piece of white card, trimmed the edges and rounded the corners before attaching it to the card blank.  The embossing folder had also die cut the bauble shape from the embossed panel.  I attached a snippet of pink paper onto a snippet of card and stamped the bauble with purple ink before embossing it with clear embossing powder.  I placed the bauble into the embossing folder and die cut it before inlaying it into the card.  I punched a small circle from gold card and attached it to the bauble before adding a small gold bow.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 4" white matt card blank
Practical Publishing 'Opulent Baubles' embossing folder and dies
     Versafine Imperial Purple ink
     Stampendous clear embossing powder
     Hole punch
Snippets of pink patterned paper, gold card and white matt card
Upcycled gold bow (from one of my Christmas cards)

I am entering the following challenges:
ABC Christmas Challenge - B for Bingo (Die Cut, Clean & Simple, Embossing)
Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge - Trim the Tree
     Rudolph Day - January challenge

Thank You

I was lucky to win the latest Stamps by Chloe Cardmaking Collection from Liz's blog - thank you Liz - and have used the stamps, dies and paper from the collection to make this Thank You card.

I'm entering the Sparkles Monthly Challenge 'The Colour Purple', Die Cut Divas 'Flowers' challenge and Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes With Dies challenge.   I also used a couple of snippets for the card so am also heading into the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

6" x 6" cream speckled card blank
Dies, stamps and paper from the 'Stamps by Chloe Cardmaking Collection 3'
Stampendous 'Cling Thank You' stamp
Lawn Fawn 'Outside In Stitched Square Stackables' die
Kars tan embossing mat
Versafine Imperial Purple ink
Snippets of cream speckled and purple pearlescent card
Papermania Transparent Shimmering Dots
Wink of Stella

I die cut the flowers from cream speckled card before die cutting and embossing the largest Stitched Square.  Using my MISTI I lined up the flower stamps and over-stamped them onto the die cut flowers.  I also stamped the sentiment into the top corner.  I covered the back of the panel with a piece of paper from the Collection before layering the panel onto purple pearlescent card and attaching it to the card front.  To finish I added a Wink of Stella to the flowers and sentiment and Shimmering Dots to the flower centres.

DL white matt card blank
Bugaboo 'Christmas Trio Block' digi stamp

Red mirri and white matt card
Stampendous white Fun Flock
Wink of Stella

I resized the digi stamp and printed it onto white card.  This was trimmed and coloured with Promarkers before being layered onto red mirri card and attached to the card blank.  To finish I added Fun Flock to Santa's hat and highlighted the images with a Wink of Stella.

One Sheet Easter Bag

I'm so pleased to be invited to join the Cuttlebug Mania team as their Guest Designer for the 'Make a Project with the Easter Bunny' challenge.  My project is a one sheet bag that I've decorated with an Easter rabbit and filled with small Easter eggs.

I'm entering the Cardz 4 Galz 'Flora or Fauna' challenge and the Dies R Us 'Anything Goes' challenge. The card and ribbon are from my snippets drawer so I'm also heading into the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Joanna Sheen 'Easter Rabbit', Spellbinders Shapeabilities 'Garden Weave', Creative Expressions 'Pierced Tags' dies
Kars tan embossing mat
Woodware 'Regular Daisy' punch, hole punch
Stampendous 'Joyous Easter' stamp
Versafine Vintage Sepia ink
Hunkydory 'All Things Bright and Beautiful' paper
Snippets of brown pearlescent card, green textured card. pink, black, white and gold matt card.

I scored down each long edge of the A4 paper at 2½ inches and down each short side at 4½ inches, and folded along the score lines a few times to make them flexible.  With the patterned side of the paper facing down and the paper in portrait position I brought the long narrow panel over the middle panel and folded it back diagonally.  This was repeated on all corners. (If these instructions don't make sense, they can be found in the 'Everyone Needs A Hougie 2' booklet.)  I decorated the bag before the final assembly as I find this easier.

I die cut and embossed the Garden Weave from green textured card, trimmed it slightly so it was the same width as the bag and attached it to the front.  I die cut the Easter Rabbit from brown pearlescent card, the ears from pink card, nose from black card and bow from gold card before attaching them to the bag.  I punched six daisies from white card and three small circles from gold card to make the double layer daisies which were attached to the lower edge of the bag.  The bag was assembled by gluing the sides and I punched two small holes in the top.  I stamped the sentiment onto white card before die cutting and embossing the tag.  To finish I fastened the bag with white ribbon, attached the tag and tied the ribbon in a bow.

Rescue Squad

It's time for a new challenge at Winter Wonderland and our theme is 'Outdoor Fun.  We're sponsored by Dr Digi's House of Stamps who are offering the winner two digi stamps of their choice.

I'm entering the Cardz 4 Guyz 'Things with Tails' challenge, Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge 'Anything Christmas Goes' and The Merry Christmas Challenge 'Anything Goes + Christmas'.  I'm also heading over to the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank: 7" x 5" white silk
Image: Dr Digi's House of Stamps 'Rescue Squad'
Sentiment: Marianne Design 'Ice Skating Don' (magazine freebie)
Punch: Woodware Snowflake
Ink: Versafine Crimson Red
Colouring: Promarkers
Other: Stampendous White Fun Flock, Pearl Diamond Spray and Sparkle, Wink of Stella
Snippets: Tree background paper, red matt and white silk card

I trimmed the background paper, popped it into my MISTI and stamped the sentiment in the top corner - stamping it a couple of times to get a deep colour.  I layered the paper onto red card and attached it to the card blank.  I resized the digi and printed it onto white silk card.  This was fussy cut before being coloured with Promarkers.  I added Fun Flock to the edge of the hood and then attached the image to the lower corner of the card with foam tape.  I punched three snowflakes from white card and sprayed them with Spray and Sparkle before attaching them to the card.  To finish I highlighted the sentiment with a Wink of Stella.

Teddy with Penguin

This month's Christmas Cards All Year Round challenge is 'Anything Goes' which is a nice and easy challenge for the final one of the year.

This is my sister's Christmas card and I'm entering the  Lili of the Valley 'Anything Goes' challenge, the Cutie Pie Challenge 'Bear Hugs' and A Gem of a Challenge 'Animals in the Snow', the Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge 'Anything Christmas Goes' and Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge 'Anything Goes'.

Card blank: 7" x 7" white silk
Image: Lili of the Valley 'Teddy with Penguin' Mini Masterpiece
Die: 'Creative Expressions - From the Hear - Female Relatives'
Punch: Woodware Large and Regular Snowflake
Card: Gold pearlescent
Paper: Lili of the Valley 'Sunny Side Up'
Other: Stampendous Fun Flock, Diamond and Xmas Red Stickles, Wink of Stella

I layered the red paper onto gold card and attached it to the card front.  I trimmed the precoloured image and die cut 'Sister' from the top corner before layering it onto gold card.  I die cut 'Sister' from gold card and inlaid it, then ran the panel through my Cuttlebug to ensure the inlaid die cut lay flat.  The panel was then attached to the centre.  I punched three snowflakes and attched them above the teddy and penguin.  I added Fun Flock to the penguin's hat, Diamond Stickles on the snow and Xmas Red Stickles to the centre of the snowflakes.  To finish I highlighted the teddy with a Wink of Stella.

Thinking of You

I made this card for the current Less is More 'Acetate or Vellum' challenge.  I'm also entering the Alphabet Challenge 'Q for Quick and Simple' and Crafting with Dragonflies 'Let's Go Floral' challenges.  The vellum is from my snippets drawer, so I'm also heading to the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white hammer
Other: Magenta Style '3D flower' and Stampendous 'Friendly Greetings' peel-offs, Sakura Gelly Roll 'Clear Star' pen
Snippets: White vellum

I attached the flower peel-offs to white vellum and fussy cut them.  I attached the main image to the card front with a dot of tacky glue under the flower centres and the bottom of the stem.  I then shaped the other layers and attached them in the same way.  As the glue could be seen under the top flower, I coloured the flower centres with the 'Clear Star' pen.  To finish I added the sentiment to the lower edge of the card.

Happy Anniversary

I made this card for my in-laws' anniversary and used a new die which was a cover gift on a magazine I bought over the holiday.  As this is the first time I've used the die I'm entering the Allsorts 'What's New' challenge.  The card was from my snippets drawer so I'm popping into the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank: 7" x 7" white silk
Die: Apple Blossom 'Flourish Heart' (magazine freebie)
Punch: Woodware Square Corner
Other: Stampendous 'Friendly Greetings' peel off
Snippets: Red Moondust and white card, two silver heart peel-offs

I punched the corners of a square of white card, layered it onto red Moondust card and attached it to the card front.  I die-cut the Flourish Heart from red Moondust and attached it to the square, placing the silver peel off below it.  To finish, I added two small silver peel off hearts.  Quick and easy, but I like it!

Thank You

The current Cuttlebug Mania challenge is 'Thank You' and as I made my card from snippets I'm also in the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Butterfly and Doily

I made this thank you card for the current Butterfly Challenge which is 'D for Doily'.   I'm also entering Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper challenge.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white silk
Stamp: Stampendous 'Thank You'
Ink: Versafine Vintage Sepia
Card: Dark brown and green
Paper: Butterfly and rose paper
Other: Dovecraft Lace Doily, Wink of Stella

I trimmed the paper, layered it onto green and brown card and then attached it to the card front.  I stamped the sentiment in the middle of the doily and then trimmed it to size as I didn't want it to cover the border on my paper.   The doily was attached to the card and then I outlined the sentiment with a Wink of Stella.

Thank You and Butterflies

I've another Thank You card to share (it's that time of year!) and this one has been made with a stamp that I bought ages ago and, shamefully, never used so I'm paying a visit to Darnell's NBUS Challenge (NBUS stands for 'never-before-used-schtuff').  I'm also entering the Butterfly Challenge which is 'Thank you with Butterflies'.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white silk
Stamp: Stampendous 'Thank You'
Dies: Spellbinders Nestabilities Standard Circles Large and Classic Scalloped Circles Large
Embossing: Clear embossing powder
Ink: Versafine Smokey Grey
Card: Grey mirri
Papers: Wild Rose Studio 'Bluebell'
Snippets: Silver butterfly and gems

I layered butterfly paper onto grey mirri and attached it to the card front.  The bluebells from another sheet of paper were fussy-cut and attached to the bottom of the card.  I stamped and embossed the sentiment on white card.  This was then die-cut, layered onto a scalloped grey mirri die-cut and attached to the card.  To finish, I attached a silver butterfly decorated with two small green gems.
