Christmas Elf and My Poor Zoe!

Last week the local post office agreed to let me stock some of my cards in their village shop. So was planning a busy weekend of inserts and bagging up but when I picked Zoe up from school on Friday she was feeling unwell. By 5pm she was asleep on the sofa and later at night a temp of 38.4. I had a really bad night and by saturday her temp was up to 39.3. I would usually put this down to a kids virus, after 3 children you get a feel of how serious it is. But with Swine Flu around and her symptoms, of the high temp, mild cough, runny nose, headache and the amount of sleeping she has done, went on the Pandemic Website. It came up with a yes and we were given an authorisation code for Tamiflu which we have collected. She is still quite ill today but I have not given the Tamiflu as yet. Side effects are sickness but she's coping and fighting the virus herself so am holding off.

Anyway, back to this card. I watercoloured the image last week with Marvy Le Plume pens. I haven't used these in years but was looking for a different tecnique. The papers are Forever Friends (santa's on his way). Snowflakes are a punch and have coloured with Shimmerz and Glimmer Mists. MS Snowflake punch, Lace and scallop die cut out on my MM Slice. This card fits in with a few challenges today, Winter Wonderland, Forever Friends, Our Creative Corner (gone with the film ELF) & Crazy 4 Challenge.

Am hoping to find some time today to blog hop, but have a roast to cook and am backwards and forwards with Zoe. The Nurofen works well and keeps her temperature down but I still like to give her lots of TLC.
Thanks for looking!!

My annual plea for Daniel. Daniel is 12 on the 7th November and is on the Autistic Spectrum. He doesn't socialize and loves recieving your handmade cards. As most will know, for the last 2 years I have asked if some of you could send a card for him to open and the response has been overwhelming. He recieving nearly 100 last year. I think he enjoys this more than the presents. Love watching his face light up. He started a boarding school for Autistic Children in Sept and although he misses home, is slowly settling in and we do get him back every weekend. So if you could help, I'd truly appreciate it.

ArtyGirlz & Stamp Something

This week Artygirlz are celebrating their 1st Birthday and this is this weeks theme. This weeks challenge over at Stamp Something is to use embellishments so am putting it in for this as well. I have made a wallet to hold stamp images which has been sent to a forum friend for her birthday. I used a 6x6 square card and covered the front with papers from K & Co. Used my new stamps from Art Inpressions which I coloured with stamped with Marvy Le Plumes and also used for the watercolour. Mounted onto Mirriboard and added a K & Co embellishment. The inside is again K & Co paper. I have cut 2 pieces of Bazzill just shorter than 6x6 and stuck down at the bottom and side. Stamped several images, one side general, the other christmas. 2 pieces of ribbon 2 close the folder and a few more K & Co embellishments to finish. I hope Wendy liked this, I really enjoyed making it up and will defo being doing some more soon!

Cute Card Thursday Challenge

I know this is a canvas not a card but other items are excepted on the Cute Card Thursday Challenge. I made this to fit this weeks challenge and it wasnt till afterwards I realised it say CARD challenge but checking their blog it says it will be OK, so I can breathe a sigh of relief. I coloured the canvas with chalk ink pads and coloured Tilda and Rufus with Promarkers and Marvy Le Plume pens. The sun is Stitchels. Added flowers and leaves from Art Impressions and used a clear Sakura Pen Randomly over the the canvas. This went to my friend Hels, who's been suffering terribly with her back and I hope this helped to cheer her up.
I met up with Dan and my forum friends yesterday for his birthday. We ventured to Puffin Crafts first where they were offering 50% discount for the day so stocked up on more stash and then we all went to Frankie and Bennies for a bite to each. Being Dans Birthday Bash, we had to have our cake and eat it which I think pretty much sums up the whole day. I had a great time and was lovely to meet you all again.
