Finally some craft camp pics....

Well, I had to sort through the pics so I didn't double up and you wouldn't want to go here and read Brianna's awesome post! (Don't rush over there, though, there is a great animation of a terrible me being greedy!) As the other 2 pals are a bit behind in their blogging, we have to give them a memento too!

Essentials were packed (Coffee machine not in pic!). However, awesome meals were
also consumed.

Brownies kept us full of energy (and a chance to use my vintage Bessemer plate!)

My driver and sewing 'sister'

The beautiful sun on Saturday was a bit of a pest.....it only seemed to hit my machine!

And for anyone else that goes to or wants to go to Sewjourn, this is THE best bed.

Mel finished a quilt.....

and Brianna brought along her finished Sherbert Pips quilt

Brianna started and finished this quilt top....

And I finally got into my 'It's a Hoot' quilt

Liesel struggled with a badly written pattern most of the time, but on the first night dressed the dressmaker's dummy, and introduced us to baked doughnuts.......mmmmmm, doughnuts!

And then 'visual merchandiser" Brianna styled us up and we all went 'awwwwww'.

Thanks for an awesome weekend girls, I loved every minute!

More good things

It's been cold all day, you get home and it's dark and cold, you have to get dinner, you had to leave the bag WITH dinner at the supermarket because you had no money left.....you get it, the best surprise when I opened it up-

A PARLIAMENT OF OWLS!

with a lovely bunch of toadstools! And 3 extra special ones for my little one. Actually the extra toadstools were a bonus for me too- she did try and wangle the whole lot, but I ended that discussion quick smart!

They are all different, with cute little personalities, Manda, you're amazing!
They are resting on another thing I won, from here. Don't they look great together?

I'll show you what I've swapped with Manda when she gets it, don't want to spoil the surprise!
Also, here are some finished Sewjourn items form the weekend. This is the Carry All, which I originally made at the bag course, then didn't like the one I've made, now I love this one.

I lined in black and white, did a denim divider pocket and a compartment pocket. I still avoided the zip purse, don't know why, they are really easy, I just never zip them up, so don't waste time adding them in!

Noodlehead gave me (and you too!) this great tutorial, super easy, and there is a flickr group too! She'll even link to you if you buy the pattern and sell them, I think I'll have too much fun giving them away, they are dead easy!

Phew, off to finish more!
PS Eggs and soup were so much yummier with the owls to look at, don't worry, I won't starve haha

This one time, before craft camp....

Hmm, this reminds me of something....(taken tonight)

A year ago the same thing occurred before Sewjourn. I wonder why?
A very exciting weekend awaits, me, the crafty peeps, food, and hopefully lots of laughs! Maybe a bit of sewing, too.....

Day 17- Giveaway time!

I remembered my giveaway about 3pm today, in the middle of my Crafternoon, so have only just drawn it! The process was unfortunately not witnessed by the human eye....
comments were cut up....

rolled and mixed about....

the cat was summonsed....

and made to walk over the pile twice to see which one it's foot landed on( the first time it STEPPED OVER every single one!!) It actually kicked the winner out of the pile the second time, like get out of my way, then! A clear winner...
well, not so clear to you, but it was definitely Sewjourn!

The most awesome place on the world!
Jan, I'll be in touch and we'll decide what I can sew for you! And where to post mag stash.....

Good for the soul

Well, where to start? Maybe at the end and say I'm so sad it's over! Sewing is not the same at home...still good, but hey, how can it compete with this craziness....
gifts for no reason (more of that next post)

food- there were other meals, but this one stood out

sewing, cups of tea, the occasional alcoholic beverage...

LOTS of hamming for the camera
lots of laughing at old mags, craft and bk
and some finished and half finished projects. The overlocked quilt's top is done

a new zippered pouch habit has formed

Frances' sister was there and modelled a jacket and bags
and someone missed me, and loved her quilt!

What are we doing next weekend guys?

It's all about me!

Ooh, getting excited only 6 sleeps till a whole weekend of sewing at Sewjourn. As I should be gathering projects to take, I was a bit naughty and started something new- but finished it at least! It's my new sewing tote! I used a piece of Inkjet Canvas, and printed the little girls picture of herself as a guinea pig, which I then covered with vinyl.

Some vintage sheeting for a lining....

and a matching purse for things and stuff (very important things and stuff, aren't they?)

Inspiration was from here and here. Thank you!

And another little bag, pre made, was embellished.

Phew, better go sort out those projects for Sewjourn
!

Late night shopping

Was having a busy night in tracing patterns, ironing etc, when I glanced at Ebay and found these great buys. All from the same shop, here. In my (spending) Paypal account I had a bit of money, so treated myself with this, this and this. I think the bag will be one of my Sewjourn projects, or will make it to take up there, as it is a weekend away. I'll look at the fabric for a bit before chopping up- I'm thinking bibs or the like for my Made It shop. Any suggestions?
