Come Monday Reviews...Flaming Away

“Come Monday…” is a weekly series that will involve a review of, or commentary about,  websites, movies, documentaries, television shows, sports, music, and whatever else may tickle my fancy at the time.  Be assured that these reviews will be generally positive, as in accordance to the Jimmy Buffett song “Come Monday.”  This is subject to change, however.  In fact, I would be most derelict in my duties to neglect going on a rant every once in a while.  For rants promote change, and change can be good—right?  Therefore, since good is generally considered as being a positive force in 99.3% of the parallel universes that I am aware of, even a rant could be considered as being something positive, and a genuine hissy-fit would be even better (so I’m told).

***WARNING***
The following will probably be highly offensive to all who see nothing wrong with homosexuality.

[Art Smith] has been one of our favorite celebrity chefs.  For from the first time my wife and I saw him appear as a guest judge on the American version of [Iron Chef] through several appearances in various capacities on other shows, he has displayed a distinct sweetness and humility, along with a great sense of humor, that we found quite appealing.

The current season of [Top Chef Masters] has been quite shock to our systems, however.  For he has erased all doubts about [being gay]—not that we had any questions about it before.  For neither one of us had any idea that he was, which is the way we would have liked it to have remained.

No, we are not of the opinion that all homosexuals should be burned at the stake, but it makes both of us very uncomfortable to watch a man in his 50s act like a little girl.  Seriously, there have been a few times this season when we thought he was about to start squealing with glee.

Yeah, what are we doing watching a show like Top Chef Masters in the first-place?  For neither one of us are sophisticated enough to fully appreciate the kind of foods they are preparing.

What we can appreciate is the demeanor of [Ted Allen] on [Chopped].  For he was one of the original cast members of [Queer Eye for the Straight Guy], and yet, he acts like a manly man as the host of Chopped.  Does this make him a traitor to the cause?
