Come Monday...Suits

“Come Monday…” is a weekly series that will involve a review of, or commentary about,  websites, movies, documentaries, television shows, sports, music, and whatever else may tickle my fancy at the time.  Be assured that these reviews will be generally positive, as in accordance to the Jimmy Buffett song “Come Monday.”  This is subject to change, however.  In fact, I would be most derelict in my duties to neglect going on a rant every once in a while.  For rants promote change, and change can be good—right?  Therefore, since good is generally considered as being a positive force in 99.3% of the parallel universes that I am aware of, even a rant could be considered as being something positive, and a genuine hissy-fit would be even better (so I’m told).

Oh yeah, as soon as I saw that, I just had to see more.  I have, and I haven’t been disappointed in the least.

Okay, maybe a little.  For as you saw in the trailer, the premise of the show is about an incredibly intelligent poser getting by in spectacular ways, and with the moral decay of American society continuing on pace, glorifying cheating adds all the more to it.

On the other hand, required law degrees and bar admissions are another way for the rich to get richer.  Yes, it could be argued that chaos would reign supreme in our legal system if we allowed just anyone to practice law, but if you have had a lot of dealings with licensed attorneys, you should be acutely aware of the fact that a diploma on the wall is no guarantee of there being a brain in their head.

As far as the show goes, [Suits] is a good one.  For it stars [Patrick J. Adams] as the attorney without papers, and [Gabriel Macht] as the cold-hearted mentor, who is actually not so cold-hearted.

Of course, a show like this would do well to have a spoiler close by, and they got a good one from central typecasting.  For [Rick Hoffman] has a smirk on his face, and a conniving look in his eye, regardless of what role he is playing.

The show also stars [Gina Torres], as the tough head of the firm.  She became of favorite of mine from her work on [Firefly] and [Serenity].

[Meghan Markle] plays a very serious paralegal, who dreams of becoming a licensed attorney one day, and [Sarah Rafferty] plays a sultry legal secretary, who knows almost everything about almost everything going on in the firm.  Sigh.

Alas, my reviews often come way late in the game, and this one is no exception.  For the first season is set to end on September 8th, but [Blinkx Remote] appears to be a good place to watch previous episodes, if you can’t catch a rerun on [USA].

Besides, Suits appears to have been [renewed] for a second season.  So, that would make this review way ahead of the curve.  WOO HOO!
