Autumn Wedding

Reading her wedding vows
Walking through the Stockholm City Hall garden, I stopped for a listen to this bride as she was reading her wedding vows, in English, to her future husband. They had two photographers with them, and you can see one of them here. It was a beautiful Autumn day and several couples were tying the knot. The garden was filled with people enjoying a glass of Champagne and having a great time.

The Newlyweds

The Newlyweds Tying the knot The Newlyweds
A May wedding. Stockholm City Hall, Stockholms stadshus is a very popular place to get married. If you visit on a Saturday, chances are that you will spot quite a few wedding couples tying the knot. This was the first couple I noticed when I walked into the garden. They looked very happy, to say the least. And they picked the perfect day as it was the warmest day of the year so far. 22C from a beautiful blue sky.

Wedding Season

Eyeing the photographer Wedding Couple
Pro tip. If you are in Stockholm on a Saturday looking for photo opportunities I can highly recommend a visit to Stadshuset. City Hall, as there are normally a few wedding parties there. Oh, and a heads up. I am waiting for a new router for wireless broadband, should have made the switch 18 months ago, but that never happened for some unknown reason. So my internet connection is a bit wobbly at the moment as Telia, my provider is shutting down the old network

Bride and Groom

Bride & Groom
Tying the knot. If you enjoy street photography with a difference, Stockholm City Hall on a Saturday is a good place for a visit, as quite a few couples will get married there, and have their wedding photos taken. It is always fun to look at the big-eyed tourists sneaking a photo or two with their smartphones of the happy couples, just like I did here, although I used my mirrorless Canon. This couple's photographer had set it all up, and her assistant saw to it that no one walked into the scene, and when the photographer told the couple to walk towards her, I snapped a few quick shot's and moved away so not to disturb them.

A Summer Wedding

Getting Ready For The Wedding Photographer

A Summer wedding is never wrong. I happened to be at a gallery garden a while back on a day when at least three couples decided to get married in the Medieval church in rural Österhaninge. On the first photo you can see Rickard and Anneli Furustad from Trollbäcken happily posing with their two kids for their official wedding photographer, and me. It was the warmest day of the year so far, and the sun was shining from a clear blue sky, so they really picked the right day for the wedding. I walked over to the next couple and asked if I could get a photo, their wedding photographer muttered something that I took as a yes. The third wedding couple arrived to the garden as the second couple was still being photographed, and the muttering photographer told everyone that this was his area, his social talents is something he needs to work on, but he sure was dedicated. I grabbed my third photo from a table at the gallery garden where I was having coffee. Congrats to all three couples. If you would like to see photos of the old church, check out my flickr set.

Best of 2010

A Summer Wedding

The new year kicks off with the theme Best of 2010. For me it is always the people I meet and the portraits I shoot that are the highlight of the year. It would be impossible to pick the best one as they are all great, but here is one fun meeting. The Summer Wedding. And if you would like to see the other portraits have a look at the 140 first photos in the slideshow.

Bride & Groom

Bride & Groom

Traditionally the Pentecost weekend is very popular for getting married in this country. So I wasnt all that surprised to see this happy couple having their wedding photos taken close to the Västerhaninge church on Saturday. I figured they were 100 Strangers material and walked over for a chat. The wedding photographer, and his helpers (probably the Best Man and the Bridesmaid) looked very busy, so I decided to make it a short stop. Closing in on them I recognised the photographer. It was Clintan. I said hello, explained what I was up to, and took a few quick shots. This is Rickard and Jenny. They live in Västerhaninge and have two kids. After the ceremony there was a wedding party at the nearby Bygdegården for 65 of their closest friends and family. Any wedding trip planned, I asked Jenny. Yes, we are flying to Las Vegas on Sunday morning! I wished them a happy day and a great time in Las Vegas. This is my 30th photo for the 100 Strangers project. You can see the rest of my strangers in my Set.
