Commuter station

Pendeltågsstation
Walking over the bridge at Stavsvägen, looking down at the empty commuter station in Tungelsta. One minute before the train heading to Nynäshamn arrives just after six in the evening a couple of cold nights ago.

The Café

The Café
A café in Tungelsta called Med Mig. Located in an old church that was also a gym for a few years. The religious people were fighting each other, (where have I heard that before?), and their boss, (God maybe?), visited one day, and he threw everyone out and changed the locks. A few years later a local construction company stepped in and bought this property and also an older building nearby, and since then two entrepreneurial women have opened this café and also a restaurant in the other building.

A cold winter night

A cold Winter evening
I managed to take a few photos last night. It was a chilly promenade -13C, with frost everywhere. This is the old stationhouse at the Tungelsta commuter station. I upped the ISO here to show the frost in the lit up tree.

Moon Mania

Electrical substation Månen That Old Tree
The 12 km bike ride home from the BBQ at Villa Blåmes at Norrby yesterday evening took 63 minutes. That is 20 minutes longer than usual. All thanks to the moon as I stopped at four or five places along the way snapping away at the said moon. The first photo shows the electrical substation near the Nedersta farm and is my favorite of the tree moon snaps in this post. Tricky to spot the moon with the old tree, but it is there to the right.

All Saints Day

November Afternoon
it is All Saints Day today. That means that it will be crowded at the cemeteries, and there will be a lot of flickering candles there. Took this photo earlier in the week as I walked through the cemetery at the medieval church in Västerhaninge.

November Darkness

New &Old
November. Not my favorite month of the year. It feels like it is dark 24/7. Most of the the Autumn colors are gone. Icy roads in the morning. Cold and rainy. I got this idea of shooting one month of evening photos. We will see if I can go through with it. If so this is the first photo in the series. It shows the new "glass house" waiting area at the Tungelsta commuter station, next to the century old Station House, where the last station master still lives. Shot handheld with my new Canon zoom lens at ISO 1250.

That Old Tree

That Old Tree
Finally. The old tree is turning green again. Feels like it was a long wait this year. Took this photo last evening during the golden hour. Shot with the nifty fifty from my usual spot on the path. So I had to take six photos and stitch them together. We have had two smashing Summer days this week and yesterday was the warmest day of the year, (just like Grace predicted), but as I'm typing this the cold weather is on it's way back. Rain and 10C is on the menu for Wednesday.

That Old Tree

That Old Tree
Because it was the first day of Summer (my rules), and the warmest day of the year (24C), I took a bike ride in the summer evening on Friday and arrived to the old tree just after 2100 hours, in time to snap a photo of the old tree during sunset. If you look closely you can see the first leaves on the Swedish Whitebeam.

A Summer Evening

That Old Tree

MaCoBra left a comment a few days ago asking me if it wasnt time for another photo of the old tree at Välsta so here it is, the most famous tree in Haninge. Shot this on Saturday. It was a beautiful summer evening. I was the only one there, and to prove that here is a 360 panorama shot from a stony area on a field.

Välsta

The only thing different from my last visit was the hay bales on the side of the path. As I left Välsta I met an Englishwoman on a bike and we agreed on the fact that it was a perfect evening for a bike ride.

Full Moon

Full Moon

There's a hill at Bergdalen in Tungelsta where I live. I often go up there to capture the sunset. This time it was a few hours later and the moon was full. I find it very peaceful to sit up there in the dark and look at the stars, or as in this case earth's natural satellite.
