Criminal Failure of the Day
Dumb Ass Criminal: We need a car for this job. I know a place where we can steal a brand new Opel. The cars are parked outside the dealership. All we need are some tools to cut the fence. Then we just hot-wire the car and drive away. We will be in and out in a minute or two. No way this can go wrong. Crappy Criminal Getaway Driver: Okay, I'm in, but only if I can do the driving.

You Can't Park Here
This Saab has been parked on the road at Allévägen for nearly two weeks now. I informed the municipality a few days ago when I emailed them the top photo which I took earlier this week. I suggested that they really should move it as it blocks traffic, and that the snow plougher has to drive around it. Also, two cars can't meet here now, and there's the risk for an accident, when I walked past it the other day the car behind me had to wait. The municipality replied three times that same day. Which was nice. Three days later this was the result. Police have used an ice scraper to see if there were some dead guy in the front seat! When that result was negative they decided to leave the car as they found it.

Woke Up This Morning...
This was unexpected. And a bit unnerving. I was sound asleep yesterday night. Probably dreaming about something weird, when I was awaken by a unfamiliar sound. It was still dark outside but there was a strange light from the window. Looking out I got a bit of a shock. Only meters from the house a car had just burst into flames! After calling the fire services I quickly dressed and grabbed the camera. It was raining, but the flames were still a few meters high, and as I walked closer I could hear a few small explosions so I stopped where I was and took a few photos. After twenty minutes the fire fighters arrived and put out the fire. A couple of hours later in the morning I walked down to the torched car for another look. My neighbour Danuta came over. She had heard some people outside her bedroom in the early hours and that was probably the car thieves running away. This kind of thing isn't that uncommon these days. I'm guessing it was a few local kids that stole the car and took it for a joyride.

This used to be a Volvo
I live close to a school. Two weeks ago I woke up in the middle of the night by shouting and laughter. The next morning I walked over to the school gymnasium to have a look. Found a stolen Volvo 850. It's been reported to the police. They have notified the owner. He has been told to have the wreck removed. That hasn't happen. By now all the local kids have been there having a go at destroying the car. Here's two photos to show you their progress. I made a set with photos, but I'm hoping this will be the last. Friday evening a police car drove up. They stayed for ten minutes. But the car is still there.

After the joyride

After The Joyride
I found this stolen SAAB parked at the Tungelsta Park a few days ago. The owner has probably woken up to find his car missing by now. The kids who stole it parked the car close to the greenhouse at the park which made for a good photo.
I took another shot at the park this afternoon, looks like the wind shield has been smashed. No one seems interested in removing the car. We do have a lot of criminality here in Tungelsta these days. Car thefts, murder, assaults, breaking and entering I could go on and on...
