Mystery Tombstone

Mystery Tombstone
Vesterin 1824-1927. The most known Westerin (spelled with a W), was the teacher and sexton Gustav Adolf. He died in 1927, but he was born in 1862. He was adopted by the tailor Samuel August Westerin. The records show that his step-sister Ragnhild Svea Forsell should be buried here. She died in 1953. The last Taphophile Tragic.

Unusual Tombstone

Rune stone/Head stone Another runestone-like headstone from the big burial ground in Österhaninge. The runic inscription reads: Here rests Jörgen Andersson, and Rolf, his father, and Irene, grandmother, and Karl, grandfather. God bless their souls. Jonathan did the carving. For Julie's Taphophile Tragics meme.

Modern Day Headstone

IMG_6609 I stopped at the Österhaninge burial ground today. It is situated in a rural part of Haninge, around one kilometre away from the Medieval church. My goal today was to find a headstone for The Taphophile Tragics. And I found one. I think I would like a grave stone like this when the time comes. The man that rests here was called Bo-Göran Runsten. Runsten means Runestone, so it was a good choice for a headstone, to make it in the shape of a Viking era Runestone.
