Handenterminalen

Bus Terminal Haningeterrassen Waiting Area A work in progress Bus Terminal Bench
After a two year delay the new underground bus terminal, Handenterminalen, opened for traffic this week. Still, some work to be done both inside and outside the terminal which is part of the huge project that is Haningeterrassen in Handen, located near the Rudan nature reserve, the mall and the commuter station. When that work is done next phase starts. Building a number of apartment buildings on the roof of the underground terminal. The artwork seen here were made by Andreas Johansson. It is called Evig sommar, Eternal Summer. The artist's photos have been printed on enameled sheets which have then been mounted on the walls. Oh, and if you wonder why that is a big deal feel free to check out a photo of the old bus terminal.

Modern Architecture

Haningeterrassen
All the buildings on the left here are part of the ongoing project Haningeterrassen in Handen. All are apartment buildings constructed over the last couple of years. The highrise is called Blicken and I have shown it to you a few times by now. The ones closest to the camera have just been finished. Looking at this photo I'm not too sure about the architectural style.

The passage

The passage
The passage between the commuter station in Handen and Poseidons Square at the mall is no more. At least for a while. It was a dark tunnel for many years, later it was lit up both by lights and artwork. This is how it looks today.

Haningeterrassen

Haningeterrassen Empty Balconies
To the left the Handenterminalen, a monstrosity that dates back to 1979. To the right the newly renovated Najaden building. In the middle, a brand new apartment building, part of the Haningeterrassen project in central Handen. From there you would have a good view over the Upper Lake at Rudan. I snapped the photo from the hill overlooking the lake. The area in front of the building is a bit of a mess at the moment but a few years from now it is supposed to be a new meeting place called Tritons plats.

Three new apartment buildings and an underground bus depot are currently under construction at the mess that we like to call Haningeterrassen in Handen. Photo made from a somewhat tricky panorama.

The Terrace

The Terrace
13C and a blueish sky today, so I took a longish bike ride with photo stops at a couple of places in handen. This is the building site known as Haningeterrassen, or The Terrace as I call it here on the blog. Looks like they are progressing okay.

Haningeterrassen

Haningeterrassen
Same area s yesterdays photo. No idea about this building, could be part of the underground bus station. Or not. The project will be finished around 2023.

The Terrace

The Terrace
This massive project will take at least five years to finish. It is called Haningeterrassen and can be found in down-town Handen. The first building, Brf Blicken is up, many more to come, including the underground bus station. This is 4 photos stitched together, shot with my latest purchase, the Sigma 105mm macro lens.

Brick Facade

Brick Wall Facade
Looks like one part of the new 18-storey high-rise building at the big project Haningeterrassen, Brf Blicken, in Handen will get a brick façade. As seen behind the scaffolding earlier today. Shot with my new Canon lens that I bought from Lasse last year.

Brf Blicken

Brf Blicken
A photo of a new high-rise building in central Handen. Taken a few weeks ago now. The building is called Brf Blicken and I have shown you a few photos of the construction process before, and here is another one. Part of the massive project Haningeterrassen. The view from the balconies here will be a good one. You will have a great view over the Rudan nature reserve, including the two lakes and the forests. I snapped this with my new canon lens with the help of the Viltrox 2.0 teleconverter.

Haven't been out much with the camera this last week, but here is a photo of Brf Blicken, the new high-rise building currently under construction at the huge Haningeterrassen project in central Handen. Shot with the new Canon zoom lens using one of my Viltrox teleconverter extenders.

Going Underground

Going Underground
Work have started on the new underground bus terminal in central Handen. Part of the big project Haningeterrassen. Already delayed by 18 months. The building in the background is City Hall, still called Teliahuset by some (old), locals.
