Alias The Saint by Leslie Charteris

The Saint

Professor Ramses Smith-Smyth-Smythe of Timbuctoo was a firm believer in the cheerful hospitality of the English countryside, until he registered for the night at the Beacon Inn, where: first his waiter fed him knock out drops, and then the chauffeur wrecked his car, and then the porter ransacked his bags.

Of course, the fact that Professor Smythe was
Alias The Saint
Might have had some effect on the temperature of his welcome

And before the night was over, Simon Templar managed to put just a little more tarnish on his notorious halo. All in the cause of Truth and Justice of course!

The Saint Sees It Through by Leslie Charteris

Simon Templar Fights An International Dope Ring

The Saint pits himself against a lovely lady,
and unflappable psychiatrist,
and a maze of murder.

The Saint, who sometimes travels under the name Simon Templar, collides with the weirdest group of sinister characters he's ever met, including a mysterious European psychiatrist, a monstrous glandular freak, and a peculiar lady poet. Something sinister linked them all together, and Simon has to find out what it was. The key might be the suave shrink. Then again, it might be Avalon Dexter, the sexy singer with the sincere smile. And the gift for getting The Saint tangled up in the murderous riddle.

The Saint In New York by Leslie Charteris

The first "bestseller" of the Simon Templar series, and was the book that established Charteris as a literary celebrity in both America and Britain. Due to the book's popularity, it became the first Simon Templar story to be adapted for film.

During a visit to Europe, Simon Templar befriends a rich American whose son was recently murdered in New York City. The culprit went free due to police and courtroom corruption. Templar is given an offer he can't refuse, a cool $1 million if he goes to New York and deals out his unique brand of justice to evildoers in that city.
