From New Planting Seeds Comp: Mark Crozer, Static Daydream, Lovetones, Young Sinclairs, Seeers, Super Vacations

We would have told you about this sooner but only just now got word of it ourownself. The most excellent Planting Seeds Records have released a 14-song compilation  of freebies by a number of our favebands or members thereof. (The postitle enumerates the names of our very favorites, with songs posted below.) Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow, & Infinitely Vol 2 will be available for free download until November 17 (of this year), so you have a pleasant cushion of time available for checking them out and deciding what, if anything, to do next. Many thanks to PSR for the, you know, implant.
Update: PSR removed the widgets, as promised/threatened. We still say, though, "Many thanks." Time to go buy-buy.

the Young Sinclairs - Culling Calling

We celebrate with our dear and much admired last'n'bloggerfriend Alex Twist his recent discovery of neo-Byrdsian faveband, Roanokeans the Young Sinclairs. We also thank him for pointing us to their Bandcamp page, where after several clicks we came upon their recent release of what that LP cover up there describes for Name Your Price download. We've culled and posted below three of our favorites from that album, Culled From the Link. We're also gonna put something in teeny tiny print at the end of this post but beg you to visit Requiem Pour Un Twister before clicking on any of the teeny tiny linkwords. Would you promise us you will visit RPUT first? Pretty please? You are so very great, so merci, nos amis.

Did you really go to RPUT first? Okay, if so, we just wanted to mention (casual-like) that we previously posted on the Young Sinclairs here, here, and here. That first here has some other nice downloadables from Planting Seeds Records, in case you're interested. At Planting Seeds you might enjoy the picture of the guy planting one not a seed (yet) but something else on the chick on the escalator. Maybe not, though. We haven't planted any posts here at Powerpopulist for a while and are obviously, we fear, sounding a bit awkward, so TTFN, au revoir, etc.

All is Not Lost: The Lovetones, International Jetsetters, the Young Sinclairs, Eternal Summers

Ah, g’day, Joel. You’ve lost your what? Sloooower, mate. No way. Calm down, it’ll turn up, no worries. Of course Matt doesn’t have it. How could you even think such a thing? He doesn’t bloody have it, mkay? When did you last see it? 2006???? And you just now noticed? Crikey.***

The Lovetones - City Meets The Stars mp3

on their fifthcoming LP

Lost

due 28 September on

Planting Seeds Records

We're pstoked these Psydney psychpoppers are about to lay further lovetones on a world that needs them pso very, very much. (Are you tired of this "p" pschtick of ours? If pso, psorry.) We previewed Lost over at Amazon mp3, and needless to psay, were entirely glad to have found it.

We previously posted the first of the following tunes from their fourth LP, 2009's Dimensions, and are glad to have found the psecond at the Planting Seeds psite. (We will not mess with a labelname, nosir/ma'amareee!)

While over at Planting Seeds, we were delighted to find the following excellent psong by The Lovetones' podmates, Oxfordians International Jetsetters. We posted it before, but why not again?

Also planted were the following two excellent ditties by a personal favorite band, Roanokeans the Young Sinclairs.

the Young Sinclairs - Girl, I'm For Real mp3 - from We Spoke Our Minds EP, as is the following

the Young Sinclairs - You Can Have Her (alternate version) mp3

And while we're at it, while at Pitchfork recently, we came across a goodun by the Young Sinclairs' bassist Daniel Cundiff's band, Eternal Summers, and thought you might like to lend an ear. It's from their upcoming 28 Pseptember release, Silver, on Kanine Records. Many thanks to the 'fork for the headsup.

***We're not saying that's Matt in the picture. Not at all.

the Young Sinclairs

Not real sure what this pic means, thus we like.

the Young Sinclairs - Tribe mp3

from The Songs of the Young Sinclairs

due out 30 March on Kindercore

It's lookin' like "Virginny Day" here at Powerpopulist, as we move from Fredericksburg (Ceremony) to Roanoke (tYS). We're still lovin' this one we posted awhile back and noticed quite a few of the excellent songs in that post are still viable. "Engineer Man" is also from the forthcoming LP.
