You Light Up My World - One Layer Technique Tuesday Card

Good morning! Stopping by this morning with a rare (for me!) one layer card! This is a true one layer card - I stamped this lovely image from Technique Tuesday called Sunny Flowers right on my white cardbase!

I colored it up with Copics - it was a nice relaxing time of coloring. I went slowly on it as was doing other things at the time as well.

Sentiment is from the same stamp set!

Wish on a Starfish - Simon Says Stamp September Card Kit

Good morning! I'm back with another fun mermaid card using the BRAND NEW Simon Says Stamp Card Kit for September - Sea Treasure! This is such a fun and magical kit - and if you love mermaids (or have a little girl in your life who loves mermaids!) - you are going to love this kit! The Beautiful Mermaids Stamp Set is darling, there is some gorgeous new Mermaid Embossing Powder, some fun glitter and embossed paper, two of the NEWEST Distress Oxide Ink Pads AND an Embossing Ink Pad from Simon Says Stamp! There's still more - you can check out the entire kit and it's contents HERE.

I thought it would be fun to make a sparkly ocean with the gorgeous new embossing powder included in the kit! I swiped my embossing pad across the bottom of a panel of white cardstock, sprinkled with embossing powder, and heat set. I went over it several times to get a thick enough coat to make me happy.

{{{NOTE: I learned the hard way - make sure each round of embossing dries before swiping again with your embossing pad, unless you want to stain your ink pad! I didn't wait long enough, so mine has a nice little blue stain on it. It still seems to work fine, just doesn't look as pretty!}}}

I stamped my image from Beautiful Mermaids and colored with Copics, before fussy cutting it out (there are dies available separately though I noticed!), then adhered that with foam adhesive over my background. Look at that GORGEOUS sparkle and shine of the Mermaid Embossing Powder:

Finished off by stamping the sentiment with SSS Orange Peel Ink, added a sprinkle of the Treasure Chest sequins in the kit, and matted that panel on a bit of Audrey cardstock before mounting on a white cardbase.

Here is a look at the complete kit contents! You can find the entire kit HERE:

Sympathy Poppies

Good morning! Stopping by today to share a card I made a while back using a beautiful image from Unity Stamp Company, and some watercolors!

The image I used is from a past Kit of the Month - Never Be Afraid from August 2017. I stamped it on a panel of watercolor paper slightly offset, and added the sentiment from the same kit. I actually did this panel as something to take with me when I wasn't home to watercolor - it was perfect!

Later when I got home, I die cut the panel with a Stitched Rectangle Die, mounted on an Ivory cardbase, and added a few Nuvo drops to finish it off!

Traditional Scandinavian Combination - Simon Says Stamp

Good morning! I'm back again today to share yet another card using the BRAND NEW release from Simon Says Stamp called Friendly Frolic - and of course, it is even more Scandinavian inspiration!

For this one I went with VERY traditional Scandinavian color scheme. I love how this simple color combo makes this Folk Dance Die just POP! I die cut it from white cardstock, then layered it over a Lipstick red cardbase.

The sentiment is from Sketch Lotus Flowers - another new release - and I heat embossed it on a banner die cut with Stitched Banners Dies from Navy Cardstock, then mounted with foam adhesive over the top.

Wedding Wishes Shaker Card - Reverse Confetti Stock Your Stash Challenge

Good morning! Stopping by with a card this morning for this month's Reverse Confetti Stock Your Stash Challenge - the fun monthly challenge at Reverse Confetti!

This month's theme is Wedding:

I created a full panel shaker card today using lots of pattern paper! I chose simple patterns of paper - the green (I know it looks yellow...but it really is more of a lime green!) from Cheerful and Kind and a red from Under the Umbrella.

I die cut Leaves Cover Panel from the green, and backed it with a panel of acetate. I added foam around the outside of the panel, as well as around the front circle portion for stability - and also so I wouldn't be wasting my sequins filling a space that wasn't going to be seen. I filled it with Iridescent Heart Confetti Mix from Pretty Pink Posh, then backed with my red pattern paper. For the sentiment I die cut a scrap of white, centered over just the circle portion of Leaves Cover Panel for a perfect fit - then added my sentiment from Simply Sentiments (a must have, all-occasion stamp set)!

Here are the Reverse Confetti products I used on this card - click on the picture if you want to learn more about any of these items!

Spellbinders Hop - Inked Messages and Special Moments

Good morning! I'm excited today to be hopping with Spellbinders featuring the Special Moments and Inked Messages Lines! I have 3 cards to share today using some of the products in the new Inked Messages Line! You should have arrived here from Brenda Noelke - if you just happened along, make sure and head back to the Spellbinders Blog to hop all the way through. I also have an entire blog hop list at the bottom of this post in case you get lost along the way!

First up, I have this card using the super fun new Message in a Bottle Stamp and Die set! I absolutely love this fun scene in the bottle - and had so much fun coloring it in! And I made it a window card - die cutting out my colored image, and also die cutting a window in the front of my card, then mounting the colored image on the inside!

I added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp's You Got This Stamp Set, stamped on a bit of Smoke Gray Cardstock, and hand trimmed to a banner. I mounted this on the front of the card, over the window.

Finished off with a few Nuvo Limoncello Jewel Drops, and used a black pen and a ruler to add some sketchy lines around the outside of the front of my card.

Next up, I have anther card created with the same Message in a Bottle Stamp and Die set - but this time I used the additional stamp set to add a note in the bottle. Such a fun idea!

I stamped and colored the bottle and the note - stamping a sentiment from the same Simon Says Stamp's You Got This Stamp Set as the previous card, but this time on the note. I attached the note to the jar with foam adhesive, and tied some jute string around the neck of the bottle.

Next, I layered up some pattern paper from Lawn Fawn's Gotta Have Gingham 6x6 Paper Pad, and added some black splatters with Pinkfresh Studio's Licorice Liquid Watercolors - seriously the best way to add black splatters! Finally, I attached the bottle with foam adhesive over the top, at a bit of a jaunty angle!

And finally, a very neutral and simple card with some repeat stamping using Wanderlust Stamp and Die set:

For this card, I repeatedly stamped the main image - and wanderlust sentiment - on a panel of Smoke Gray Cardstock. I used a white Prismacolor Pencil to add a simple outline around each image to help it pop a little from the background. The sentiment from the set was heat embossed on a bit of black cardstock - and then die cut with the coordinating dies (I love that you can die cut this sentiment!) and mounted with foam over the entire panel. A simple mat in black cardstock and a white cardbase finish this card off.

Would love to hear what your favorite sets from this new release are! Or which of these cards is your favorite! I am kind of partial to the bottles myself...although I can't choose which one of the two is my favorite! :)
