The Boys from Derby: "Fear-Feeder" by Anderson and Vila

Ah, yeah, ya gotta love those Boys from Derby! Here's another swamp monster, this one a pretty obvious combination of both DC's Swamp Thing and Marvel's Man-Thing, but with a very cool (and unexpected) twist. "Fear-Feeder" came to us from Scary Tales #4 (November 1975), but this scan is from the reprint in Scary Tales #15 (April 1978), which includes the credits for writer J. Anderson and artist Carlos Vila that somehow fell off the first printing! Can you dig it?

Black and White Wednesday: "Marvin, the Dead-Thing! in One Is the Loneliest Number" by Milgrom and Marato

HooowOOOOOOO's it going, Groove-ophiles! Today we've got a black and white shocker from the unlikely but awesome team of writer (!) Al Milgrom and artist Esteban Maroto! Take a flying leap, Heap! You've lost your zing, Swamp-Thing! Don't call us, we'll give you a ring, Man-Thing! Marvin, the Dead-Thing is here to show you how a real swamp-monster swings! From Eerie #49 (May 1973) sing along with Marv (and Danny, Corey, Chuck and the guys) as we learn "One Is the Loneliest Number"!

"The Beast from the Bog!"

You've heard of the Heap, Glob, Swamp-Thing, and Man-Thing, but Ol' Groove'll just about bet you missed (or forgot) "The Beast from the Bog" from Chamber of Darkness #5 (March 1970)! Just a toss-off by Denny O'Neil and Paul Reinman with a sci-fi twist, but still worth adding to the muck-caked catalog . Swamp fever must'a been running rampant in the early 70s, eh, Groove-ophiles?
