Black and White Wednesday: Warren's Captain Company Ads from the Summer of 1979

The more things change, the more they stay the same. That's a fact, Groove-ophiles! Check out these Captain Company ads from the July 1979 ish of Creepy (#111 to be exact): Star Wars, Star Trek, Superman, Tolkien, Conan, Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica, the Incredible Hulk! Why, these same names quicken the pulse of fandom here in 2013, as well! Greatness is timeless, baby! Dig these ads...

Black and White Wednesday: Creepy #58 Captain Company Ads

Welcome back to Groove City, baby! For a change of pace, howzabout we plant our peepers on a fistful of cavorting Captain Company ads from the back of Warren's Creepy #58 (November 1973)! Yeah, Ol' Groove thought you might dig that idea. There's some primo stuff in these awesome ads--including an early batch of the legendary Mego Super-Hero action figures and the legendary Heidi Saha poster and one-shot. Even my non-comicbook loving pals dug perusing the ads in the backs of Warren mags--the true "catalog for kids"!

Black and White Wednesday: Captain Company Goodies from the Spirit #8

Jim Warren knew how to make great use of every page of his black and white magazines. Not only were the stories and art, letters pages, and editorial stuff worth reading and re-reading, but his Captain Company ads were filled with the stuff comicbook, sci-fi, and fantasy fans dream about and drool over! Here's a sample of what those awesome advertisements had to offer in the back of The Spirit #8 (cover-dated June 1975). I've actually still got some'a this stuff lying around my pad--how 'bout you, Groove-ophile?

(A special "thanks, man" to my pal Jazzy Jon "A" Gilbert for inspiring this post!)
