BBTB2 Challenge-3-D Halloween Treat Containers

This week at BBTB2 designer Jeri  asked everyone to use any cartridge to design a 3-D Halloween treat container.  I remembered last year I saw the cutest pumpkin container made with the Sweet Tooth  Cart.  Sorry to say I wrote down the cut sizes in a book I keep but don't have the link to where I got them.  The pumpkin is the ice cream cone cuts at 9.5 and the leaves and  vines are from the Thanksgiving Seasonal cart cut at 1 3/4 inches.  The stem at 2 1/2 inches.
I used Bo Bunny Dot paper for the leaves and pumpkin to add texture.
The holder and stem are made from Kraft paper.

Please join us this week for the challenge at BBTB2.   We would love to see your Halloween treat containers.

Cooking with Cricut Challenge- Back to School

It's time for another awesome challenge at Cooking with Cricut .  This week the challenge is Back to School.  I retired two years ago after teaching school for over 33 years.  Now Back to School means I will be babysitting my middle granddaughter again when her mommy goes back to teach.  For my project I decided to try making an "apple for the teacher" using the Sweet Tooth Boxes Cartridge.   I cut the top of the cupcake/ice cream cone cut at 11.5 and the bottom at 11.25.  That way the lid would fit over the top.
I used some leftover Graphic 45 School paper, twine, and ribbon.  Also some of the Graphic 45 stamps.
The leaves on the top were cut at 2 inches from Accent Essentials
and the stem was made from rolled Kraft paper.  Makes a fun, quick treat box you can feel with goodies to start the school year off right.

Thanks for joining us at Cooking with Cricut this week.  I hope you will join us for the challenge and link up your projects at CWC.  We love to see your creations.  Happy Craftin!

Sweet Sassy Diva- Make Anything Not a Card or Layout Challenge

If you are looking for the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge "Valentine Puns" please click HERE.

The challenge this week at Sweet Sassy Diva is to create a project that is not a card or layout.  I decided to try one of the cute little gift boxes from the Sweet Tooth Boxes Cart.  I used Fit to Page to make the box as large as possible.
Here is the finished house using K and Company Valentine stack.
Here are all the pieces cut out.  You cut one of each as per the booklet instructions except for the house sides which you cut two.
The drawings in the booklet then show you where to score.  I used my MS Scoreboard.
Now this is where I  recommend you not follow the handbook directions.  My suggestion is that you glue the window, grass, flowers, and doors while the side cuts are flat before you put  the house together.  This helps make sure all the pieces are secure.
I  glued a piece of pale pink vellum over the windows so they were not see through.
The two side pieces are then glued together following directions.
The roof slides over the top keeping the box together.
Here is a side view.
The other side.
So now you have a treat box big enough to hold two cupcakes.  There is also a holder that will hold the cupcakes in place that you can cut out from the cart.
Please join us all week to see what the other designers have created.

Another quick gift- Bath Gel Christmas Tress from Sweet Tooth Containers

Here is another quick gift idea.  I found a container of bath gels 7 in a box at Joann's.  The normal price was 10.00  and I got them 1/2 off for 5.00  which made them less than 75 centers per soap.  I wanted to make them into trees somehow to put on a table for a Christmas tea.
I got out my Gypsy and designed the Sweet Tooth cake lid  page 10  at 10 inches with 1 1/2 inch circle at the bottom from Accent Essentials to leave a spot for the bath gel.  I glued the boxes together and tied with ribbon.  I taped ribbon on back to keep ribbon from sliding.
Here is front and back.

Alcohol Ink Monogrammed Ornaments

I bought these glass ornaments to make for the Mops (Mothers of Preschoolers) ladies  I mentor at church.   I planned to color them  using the floor wax technique but never seemed to get the floor wax.  So instead I tried dropping Alcohol Ink and really loved the way they came out.  When I dropped the ink it poured around edges and pooled at bottom which made cool effects.  I used two colors on each one.

Here are all the ornaments laid out drying.
The letters are cut from Winter Woodland at 3 inches.
The  Tags from Winter Wonderland cut at 2 inches page 41  and I then added mini roses to top.
For the Cricut Circle challenge this week we were to use purchased flowers.  Well I purchased these flowers over three years ago for my daughter's wedding and we still have 100's.

Then I needed to make boxes to put each ornament in.
I used Sweet Tooth Boxes  page 60 cut at 11 inches
I then made Tim Holtz rosette, used K and Company  embellishments
and Graphic 45 tags cut from paper and Michaels ribbon.
I used to make  a box like this by hand so I was thrilled how quick they cut and went together.

FCCB Baked goods August 15= Cake shaped box from Sweet Tooth Cartridge

The challenge for this week at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge is a "Piece of Cake".  For this challenge you are to make a project using a baked good .  So right away I knew I wanted to do a project from my new  Sweet Tooth Boxes. This is one of the new project carts from Provo Craft.  This is the Cake box made at Fit to Page on a 12 x 12 page.  Inside the box you can see there is a place to put a very special cupcake.  For the top I added a rosette I made topped with a flower.  I then cut out the 2 with a candle top from Sweet Treats.  To make it stand better I welded a small square to the bottom of the 2 to glue on the box.  To embellish I added Happy Birthday to the back , Stickles to the candle, MS drippy goo punch to make the dripping chocolate on the sides and gems.
Hope you enjoyed this "sweet" cake project and that you are inspired to join us for the challenge this week.  I can't wait to see all the baked goods creations.  Nothing yummier than that.  Happy Craftin!
