My Paper Crafting Snowflake Challenge

Time for the first challenge of 2013 here at My Paper Crafting and  my first post for the new year.  For our first project  we were going to make snowflakes for Sandy Hook Elementary School.  However the request for snowflakes for the children when they return to school  has been so overwhelming and they have requested  that no more snowflakes be sent.  Isn't that awesome!  How wonderful to have to tell people stop we are overwhelmed when people are doing something nice for people.

I made my three snowflakes from Winter Lace cut at 5 inches.  I also cut the shadow so they would stand out more.  Then I added a Tim Holtz rosette to the center  made with blue and white paper to make them pop.    On top I cut out the words Peace from Gypsy Wanderings and love and faith from Home Accents our of glitter paper.  I added Stickles to the words and gems to bling them out.

If you look carefully at the snowflake on the top left you will notice the design of the snowflake has peace signs in it.

I am going to hang my snowflakes in my craft room to remind me to pray for the Sandy Hook families.

Simple Sweet Baby Layout

If you are one of my followers you know I do a lot of layouts.  I have been blessed with three granddaughters in 18 months so always have a stack of pictures to scrap.  Plus I do pages for both daughters.   This last week I got another huge box of  new pics so I decided to do some quick pages of some of pics I still had.  This was a quick and easy layout of my youngest granddaughter a few days ago.  The paper is from DCWV.  I added a MS border punch, a title from Gypsy Wanderings , ribbon and flowers.

Four birthday cards for my MOPS (Mother's of Preschoolers) Group

I am a mentor mom at my church for MOPS which stand for Mothers of Preschoolers.  We meet every other week and our next session starts up this month.  I have volunteered to make birthday cards this year for all the ladies.  I thought it would be fun to make birthday cards for challenges and that way I would have a whole bunch of different cards.  The cards need to be flat so they do not require a lot of postage.  So here are the first four cards I made:
For this card I used Lacey Labels and a MS punch.  I am entering this in Die Cuttin Divas- Sketch Challenge

and Cooking It Up With KatieThis week's ingredients are:Use some Purple,Add a Bow and
Include a Sentiment.

The next card I used twine, stamp by Penny Black  and colored with Prismacolor pencils.  Added butterflies I punched out of scraps.
The Paper Variety Use stamp on project.  Paper Variety is celebrating the one year of their blogaversary with a challenge each day.
This card I am entering in More  Than Favors- Use Gypsy Wanderings for butterfly and Celebrate cut and
Peachy Keen Stamps Blog  follow the sketch
This card I made with a  piece I had left from a layout.  I loved  the roses.  I added the ribbon and covered the word Love with the Happy Birthday stamp.  Added a few pearls.

June Monthly CC Challenge:On the Road Again Smash book

JUNE MONTHLY CC CHALLENGE: On the Road Again Challenge!
For a lot of us summertime means ROAD TRIP! For this challenge, we want you to create something . . . ANYTHING for your car! It can be a travel game, travel activity, organizer, whatever! Let your imagination run wild.

This is my entry for the monthly CC challenge.  My friend's daughter is flying to Texas where she will be going on a road trip with family friends.  She has been doing odd jobs for me and others to earn the money for her plane ticket and spending money.  I decided to make her a Smash book out of a drawing journal I got at M's.  I covered it with paper and decorated it.  Her name is "Summer" so I used the summer cutout and shadow  from Gypsy Wanderings cut at 2". The word "Smash" was cut using letters and shadow from Gypsy Fonts at 1 1/2 inch and 2011 at 1 inch with no shadow. The top cuts are silver glitter paper.   I punched out some small flowers of various sizes with a punch to add to the book to make it more dimensional, as well as Stickles and gems.
I also got her a little  plastic carry box  at M's for her  book, glue and some goodies I got her for her designing.  There are stickers, tags, paper, and other embellishments.   I also included Prismacolor pencils and Sharpie markers.  I used vinyl and used the same cuts  on the front.  I lined the box with matching paper to the front and back which since it is plastic shows through.  I added sheer ribbon to binding on side.
