My Paper Crafting Creating with Pink

Let me just say that with three granddaughters creating with pink is not difficult.  I have done a lot of pink layouts in the past three years and am sure I will do many more. For the challenge at My Paper Crafting I created these two layouts are of my granddaughter Kenzie who is 2 and a real ham.

Recipe
Holiday Cakes for the vine cut a 2 inches
Sweetie Title is from Elmo and Friends cut at 3 inches
Silhouette of girls heads is from A Child's Year cut at 4 inches.
The cut is actually of a girl holding a shamrock but I covered the shamrock with the roses.

Please join us this week for one of the challenges here at My Paper Crafting.
We would love to see your creations.

This week at BBTB2 the lovely Shelly came up with the fun challenge for all of us "Elephantly Speaking."  I found this adorable little guy on the Holiday Cakes cartridge page 38 cut at 3 inches.
One of our BBTB2 follower recently made a card using the Folded Angle Card.  I had benchmarked the tutorial link so decided to give it a try.

My first project with Spectrum Noir pens- Welcome Baby

While I have been sick this week I was lucky enough to get 72 Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.  I have not wanted to delve into the expensive world of Copic Markers so found this alternative through some Cricut friends.  I practiced some this week while in bed with some of the adorable digi files that Melin has at Paper Crafting World.  I am so honored to be on Melin's design team at Cooking with Cricut.  I love her cutting files and wanted to try more of the digitals so now I can.
I made this card for the sketch challenge at Frosted Designs and am also entering it in the Wacky Wednesday Baby theme challenge at More than Favors .  I always need baby card for my MOPS
(Mothers of Preschoolers Groups)
Welcome Baby is from Holiday Cakes and I used an MS punch and a cute little turtle embellishment that matched my digi.
So check out Paper Crafting World for great digital stamps, cutting files and page kits.  I hear the awesome page kits are on sale this week so stop in and check it out.

Christmas cone tree using border cut

This week on the Cricut Circle Blog the challenge was to make a project using a border cut.  Right away I knew what I wanted to make for the challenge.    I have seen cute little trees like this and thought I would try to make one using my Cricut. I hunted through the border cuts and decided to use a  scalloped border from Holiday cakes.
I had a cone from Michaels.
I glued a strip around the bottom to make sure the edges were covered.  I used a glue gun.

I cut full page sheets of  the border from different papers. The paper I used was double sided so I had a variety of choices to layer.
At first I tried v cuts and curved scalloped edges up.
Then I switched to cutting slits on opposite edge and that worked the best.
This aids when gluing as you can overlap as your gluing around the curved cone.
At first I started with 5.75  long borders.  As I progressed it worked to cut pieces.  So by the time I got to the top I was gluing two scallop long pieces  at a time.
To finish the top I folded over one scallop from the border and made a pocket to glue on top.
Here it is.
I added gems with Tacky Glue.
Art Philosophy star cut  at  3 inches.  Fold each star  in the  middle, ink and glue to make dimensional star.
This paper was gold on one side and kraft paper on other side.  I ended up using the kraft paper side as I liked  the look the best.

"Thankful" Card

I made this card today for several challenges.  I wanted to use one of my new Tim Holtz Thanksgiving folders I got at the Scrapbook Expo this last weekend.
For the card shape I used page 77 of A Child' Year cartridge cut at 7 inches.
I then did a cut search for acorns and found this cute little acorn with a leaf on Holiday Cakes page 31 which was cut at 2 inches,   I also cut the leaf border which is two layers at 1.75 inches.  I didn't like it as a border so I cut it apart,  The leaves and acorn top were embossed.  The acorn is pop dotted.  I used some dyed seam binding ribbon I also got at the Expo.  To highlight the word Thankful I  embossed and cut it out of craft stock paper and layered it over the embossed and distressed piece.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Cardz TV Use a cards feature from a Cricut cart and a Thanksgiving Card
Exploring Cricut  Acorn and Leaves Challenge
Die Cuttin Divas Let's be Thankful
Paper Playtime Thank You Challenge
Cooking with Cricut- Fruit, cornucopia, Harvest Challenge

Baby Layouts for Frosted Designs Challenges

Was very excited  I was awarded Top 3 at Lasting Memories this week.  Love these layout challenges as they help me keep my photo pile down.  So here are some more pages I did this weekend for challenges.
This is a layout I did for Frosted Designs Ransom note or Mixed Font challenge.  I used Wall Decor for the mushrooms in the left corner.  For the Sweet Baby- I used Ashlyn, Blackletter, Cursive 101, Lyrical Letters, Holiday Cakes, Makin the Grade, Print 101, Cuttin Up and Stone Script.  Paper is DCWV Baby Girl Stack.
This layout is for Frosted Designs sketch challenge.  I had some cute sweet pea paper I had in my stash.  I cut out the cute little baby pea from New Arrival and then added a bunch of buttons.
