Birthday Photo File

I have a quick video available of the prototype I made for my Photo File project I thought I’d share. I don’t usually do videos with my prototypes but I just love this project and it’s made with 🎈birthday papers🎈!

The papers are from my stash.

I hope you like it. The tutorial is here.

Simple Stories, Simple Vintage Love Story Photo File...You have to see this!

I have a tutorial you are going to LOVE!!!!

This is an extra design team project for Country Craft Creations using this amazing paper collection.  I make this photo file that will hold a ton of pictures and journaling.  It is a great album to show your love for someone, and it is different and interactive.

I hope you love it, I know I do!

More of my Photo File

We took a trip to the Saturday Market.  I added some pictures that I took with my regular camera, but cut the pics into the instant camera shapes.  That counts, right?
I used some scrap papers to create the frames.  I found these cute little camera wood embellishments by studio calico and colored them with Sharpies.  Behind these two photos is a tag...
I put journaling on the back of this.  The top tag pic is me and my oldest son, Neil.  The bottom left pic is my daughter-in-law, Sarah, and the right pic is my mom with Neil and Sarah.
This is the back of that page.  I have to go back and get more of these little cameras!

Viewmaster Reels

I am totally in love with Polaroids and Instax pictures right now, you all know that...but I also love Viewmaster Reels too!  I am totally digging the retro stuff right now.  Groovy, Baby!

I decided to try to create some with my Gypsy, and this is what I came up with...

I just eyeballed the placement of the frame squares, but I did look up the proper dimensions online.  I also cut out black circles to put underneath.  I am NOT THE FIRST ONE TO DO THIS!  I want to make that clear, many people have done this. I just wanted to make one for myself!  I used my Gypsy Wanderings Cartridge, and I think it turned out super cool!

So, then I used one of them in my Photo File project.

I think it looks cool behind the instant picture!

Thanks for looking, and Stay Crafty, My Friends!

Taa Daa! The Photo File is Ready!!

Well, here it is...my latest brainstorm.
I bought this box from IKEA thinking I was going to store things in it.  I turned it into what I am calling a "Photo File".  It is just an average storage type box.
I lined the inside with this AWESOME paper from DCWV, called The Snapshot Stack.  I LOVE THIS PAPER!!!  I am also currently (or should I say continually) addicted to the whole instant photo thing.  I  had missed being able to see and touch your picture as soon as you took it.  It is just not the same with digital pictures.  I have wanted an Instax camera since the first moment I saw one, and I love it.  Yes, the picture quality isn't super terrific, but the ability to have pictures instantly is sooooooo cooooooollll!!
I lined the inside of the box with the blue paper with a ton of instant cameras all over it.  The handles are ribbons that I attached with eyelets.  Then I created an inside pullout piece.  This came to mind because I am also currently very enamored with Rolodex type files.  I am sure there are more things to come from this obsession!  I had visited my LSS and they were having a clearance on the Tim Holtz binder rings.  Can you believe it!?!  I bought all of them.  HAHA!!
That's what I used for the base of my photo file.  I wanted something that the pages could attach to, but could be added to.  I also wanted to give some wiggle room for embellishments.  I spaced the rings about 1" apart.
I decorated the inside covers of the pullout.  The following pages are what I have created so far.
I, of course, had to put a picture of my camera!  I took it with my digital, printed it, and put it on a polaroid frame that came in the paper pack. The page with the large heart is a pocket where three pictures and a journaling tag live.
A few flowers and buttons, some bling, and fussy cuts from the paper pack.
More pages.  I got a lot of flowers in the last couple of days.
The page with my house is a flap that opens for hidden journaling.
My dogs and my man's "Man Cave".
I have many more pages to fill.  I think this turned out to be a cool idea.
This is the inside of the back cover.

So, what do you think???

Just a little teaser...

What happens when you get this super cool and funky paper stack...
...and you have this box from IKEA...
...and your awesome husband gets you this new camera because you think it's cool and you just want it?
Do you give up?

You get a very cool and unusual way to store photos!
This is NOT your usual file box. I am still working on some things, but will be showing you this very soon.  You all are not going to believe it!  The idea came to me, and I think it is a very very cool and unusual way to store your pictures.

Stay crafty, my friends!
