LOTS OF THINGS TO CATCH UP ON :)

Oh my, have I been a bad blogger.  I have been trying to keep up with things, and I have, once again, a catch up post for today.  I'm sorry.  My hubby had surgery, and I have been taking care of him and working, and trying to keep up on my crafty stuff.  But, today I have a list of things you may have missed.  I hope that you all are also following my on my YouTube, or on Instagram, or even on Scrapbookers of Country Craft Creations on Facebook.  If so, then YAY!  If not, please go to the links and check it all out.

I just posted this today, it is an amazing album that I was inspired to make from seeing a maze card.  It is so cool, and features a new paper clip closure for a waterfall.

This is a subscription box reveal from Your Creative Studio, this box is BEE THEMED!!!

I did a lot of patriotic crafting. It all started with designing a prototype for Country Craft Creations for our 4th of July YouTube Hop.  This was so much fun and I made a ton of things.

Here is a video of the projects I made using the tutorials by the amazing Country Craft Creations Designers.

This is my submission for the Country Craft Creations YouTube Hope.  I made a loaded goodie box full of fun things.

I also did my July #craftygoals2023 video...I was  very busy!

I shared a take on the wave card that has been going around.  I added a gift card holder to it...come check out how I did it.

And this is my latest design team haul from Country Craft Creations.  Photo Play "Hello Lovely"!  IT IS SO PRETTY!!!

Thanks for hanging in there with me and checking out my videos.  I appreciate all of you support!

Stay crafty, my friends!

Stars and Stripes Album

I made a smaller version of my Simple Stories Simple Vintage Berry Fields album using Country Craft Creations "Stars and Strips".  https://countrycraftcreations.com

In the video I will do a walk through, and I have all of the cut and scoring information in the description for the smaller version.  There are also links to the original tutorial.  I won't be doing a tutorial specific to this size, as it is made/constructed exactly the same as the larger version.

Thanks so much for watching, and have a crafty day!

Let Freedom Ring, A Swap Project!!

Bobbie Weaver and I did a swap project together.  She is also a designer for Country Craft Creations, and she contacted me with a fabulous idea.  We each purchased the same paper collection from Country Craft Creations, it was Echo Park's "Let Freedom Ring".  We made a project, sent them to each other, and today was the day we both had the projects sent and we released the videos!

We each also did a tutorial for the projects we made.  This was so much fun and Bobbie did such a wonderful job!!!  Please check out her YouTube, The Paper Jungle.

Here's the link to her tutorial for the project she made for me.

She also did a very sweet reveal of the book I made for her.

Here is the video of the GORGEOUS album she made for me!  I did a walk through and it is just wonderful!!!!

Here is the tutorial for the project I made for her...and yes, it has an "explosion book" style theme!!!

Thanks so much for watching, and have an excellent day!

Tag Book, Box, and Shadow Box Shaker Frame Tutorial, a Country Craft Creations Design Team Project

Happy 4th of July! Hi, and welcome back. Today I have this fun tutorial to share.

This is a project I made with leftovers from a swap/collaboration project I made with Bobbie Weaver...that hasn't been shared yet because I need to send it tomorrow. (Once we have received each others projects we will share the tutorials and reveals!) I mention this in the video, and here is the link to Bobbie's YouTube page so you can check it out and subscribe so you won't miss it! Bobbie is one of our fantastic designers at Country Craft Creations, and I'm excited that she contacted me to do the upcoming swap project, and thrilled to have one of her creations in my collection!

The Paper Jungle with Bobbie Weaver I'm using Echo Parks "Let Freedom Ring", that I purchased from Country Craft Creations. You can find this collection here. I used the Heartfelt Creations dies to make the tags. They are currently out of stock, but you can check back as they are getting restocked. Artisan Cardstock: Red, Navy and Baby Blue, White. There ribbon, book ring, charms, button, and shaker elements are from my stash. Below is the cut list. This is a very simple project, and I hope you enjoy it! Tags: The die cuts them roughly 4 x 6. If you don't have the die, just cut them and create your own. I covered the fronts with patterned papers and the backs with white Artisan Cardstock. Box: 2 - 7 3/4 x 7 3/4 Shaker Shadow Box: 1 - 5 1/2 x 6 1/2 (Sized for a 3 x 4 journal card) Shaker Frame: 1 - 3 7/8 x 4 7/8 Acetate: 3 3/8 x 4 3/8 I mention a link to my "Easiest Ever Shaker Tutorial". Here is the video for that tutorial.

I have tried to make sure everything is accurate. If you discover something or have any questions, please let me know. Have a great holiday, and I'll see you soon with another tutorial!

A 4th of July Themed Pinwheel

Hi!  I haven't done a lot of crafting for the 4th of July this year.  I did buy, FINALLY, a barn star that was painted as an American Flag, which I thought was cool. But today, I decided to craft a little something.

The Pinwheel Punch by We R Memory Keepers isn't new, but it is new to me.  I decided to make a pinwheel for my granddaughter and came up with a few hints and tips that I thought you would like to know.  I haven't researched anyone else's blogs for experiences.  I came up with this all on my own.  If I do describe something that someone else already covered, it is purely coincidental.

For my methods along with the pinwheel kit and board, you will also need 3/8" x 12" wooden dowels, some adhesive, an extra strip of coordinating paper 3/8" x 12", and if you want, some sort of embellishment to go on top of the mechanism.
This is how mine turned out.  The papers are an old line by K and Company.  I only had 3 papers left, I used 2 (cut to 11" square) to make this 14 1/2" pinwheel.
After making the two pinwheel pieces you have to line them up.  There is a hole created in the middle of the papers that the mechanism goes through.  I used a little adhesive around the hole, just enough to hold the papers in alignment.  I didn't do this the first time, and they slipped, the adhesive solved that problem.  After putting the top of the mechanism on I added a chipboard embellishment to it to cover it.
On the back I decided to take a 3/8" x 12" piece of paper that was leftover, added adhesive, and wrapped it around the back of the mechanism.  This created an extra space between the handle and the pinwheel.  I found that if I didn't do it then when the pinwheel turned it hit the handle.  This gave a little more space and it did't hit the handle anymore.
This is the picture of the dowel inside the paper tube.  I'm making this for my granddaughter to play with.  It needs to be a little more sturdy.  It slid in easy, but fit tight.  It won't come out.
This is the whole mechanism...The top left is the cap, then the tube that the pinwheel goes on which fits over the right piece.  The hollow tube fits over the paper stem, I added the dowel.  It works perfectly.  I think I am going to make more now!

Have a fun and safe Independence day!

Happy Memorial Day

Yes, I know, I am a little late.  I'm sorry about that.  But, what I want to show you is actually a project that can be used for Memorial Day, Independence Day, Veteran's Day, or any other time you want to feel patriotic and thankful for the men and women who have served our country past and present.
I have seen many examples of this type of project on Pinterest, and I thought that I would make myself one.  I hung it in our upstairs hall and it is visible from the downstairs, so it's a perfect spot.  I usually hang a quilt that says "Bless our Home" that my mom made for us when we got our first house.  At Halloween I have another hanging that goes here, and a Christmas Quilt goes here for the month of December.  We needed something for those other holidays.

There are many examples I looked at.  Here are the links for a few that caught my eye.

Blazer Designs

Optimistic Mommy

Here is my interpretation.  I got a piece of star fabric and sewed it to create a pocket.  I put the strips of ribbon inside the pocket and sewed them in place.  I used two strips of wide ribbon for the top, creating a tube for the curtain rod.  When I sewed the bottom edge of the ribbon tube, I tucked the stars and the ribbons inside to attach them.  I think it turned out pretty darn cool, and I will be proud to hang it in my home.  The examples I linked to are a bit more ornate than mine, but that's the beauty of this project.  You can make it as frilly as you like.  I did use lace in the project, but just enough, I think, to make this project pop.

The piece is about 2 x 3' total, and it took about one hour to make.

Stay crafty, my friends.
