Pamphlet Junk Journals

I love this project.  I used up a bunch of ephemera paper packs that have been in my stash for YEARS!  I got them from a store that hasn’t been in business in a very long time (and I’m sad about it) and finally decided enough was enough and I needed to use it or lose it.

Composition Book Cover Tutorial, FULL SIZE and HALF SIZE!

I did a tutorial a bit ago about how to make a removable cover for your mini composition book, and was asked to make one for the regular full sized and half sized notebooks. Here are a few pictures.

In honor of it's almost "Half Way to Halloween" I chose some Halloween papers for the tutorial.

I did make some book marks that aren't in the tutorial, but did use up all of the 1" scraps leftover from cutting the papers.  I made simple rosettes with 1/4" scores.  I love how they turned out!  It's so pretty and so useful!  The ribbons were from my stash, I just added them to the back under a 2" scalloped black Artisan Cardstock punch out.  I added buttons with gold thread through them in bows.  On two of the rosettes I added flowers to the front.  The cardstock bookmarks are 2 x 6".

I used Country Craft Creations Papers for all of these.  The paper is magnificent for this...it feels smooth, it scores and folds and curves around the spine like a dream.

The paper collections I used are:
By the Seaside
Bon Voyage
Midnight Ride
Bewitching Hour
What's Cooking

Here is the latest tutorial with the Full and Half sized composition books...

And, in case you missed it, here is the tutorial for the mini composition book covers...

Thanks so much for watching, and remember to stay crafty!

Two fun and quick tutorials for you!

Hi!!! I have two tutorials for you that I have posted in the last two days and I think you'll like them!

The first is the pen holder idea I came up with, inspired by another creator on YouTube "Medieval Mirage".  The link to the video she did that inspired me is in the video description box.  This is a fun tutorial, is extremely useful, and uses scraps.  What can be better than that??

And this tutorial is a pictorial on how I made 6 different tags for journals.  In the video I have pictures of the drawings with instructions on how to make them.  Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

Thanks for watching and have a very crafty day!

Desk Organizer/Notebook Tutorial

 Good morning!

I just posted a tutorial for you that I think you will like.  It's quick and easy and will help you keep organized, and who doesn't like that?

I love paper and organizers and notepads, this project is perfect.  I was "challenged" in a way by my friend Cheryl to help figure out a tutorial by another amazing crafter, Mrs. Brightside, on YouTube.  Not only did I figure it out, but I also did it in two other sizes!

This project goes together very easy. I show how to make the one 5x8 size book in the tutorial.  Because I did it in three sizes, rather than try to type out all of the measurements in the description, I did a chart, so you can just it to make any of the three sizes.  Click the link below to get the Google Doc.

The chart includes the cardstock cutting guide and the scoring information.

In the tutorial I am just making the base o the notebook.  In the examples I share, I'm using my design team package from Country Craft Creations!  The Echo Park Winter Collection is an older collection that I had leftovers from.  The Halloween paper is from my stash and is very old (I had it out for all of the #sandys13frightsbeforehalloweenprojects I have been doing).

The fall notebooks are current collections...

If you would like to see the video that inspired this project, please check it out here.

I appreciate all of your support and look forward to sharing my next project with you.

Stay organized, my friends!

Another Traveler's Notebook!

Good Day!

I have another fun project that took about 5 minutes, and turned out great!

I love notebooks and I knew that the two lines of products would come together well!

The notebook cover I found at Michael's is by Molly and Rex.  They have notebooks to go with it, but I already had some I wanted to use!
I had these great notebooks by the Reset Girl in my stash.  Her new line was coming out and these were being clearanced.
I was able to fit 5 books in this cover, and there is room to spare.  I love it!
Thanks for coming by, and I hope you have a crafty day!

DIY Traveler's Notebook

This was a fun project!  A friend of mine gave me some leather, and I knew that I needed to make this.  I had some notebooks, and went to JoAnn's and got some more, and made this book.  It turned out awesome! The band you see is a loop by Tim Holtz.  The attacher is also by him, and the key I used is by Recollections.
I punched holes, two at the top and bottom for the elastics, and one in the middle for the loop closure.
Here is the top view with 6 notebooks of beautiful note taking pleasure.
Here are a couple of the notebooks.  They are by Webster's Pages.
They also came out with a plastic pocket, and I put the stickers I had in my stash in them.

It's cute!  I love how it turned out, but I think one or two of the books have to go.  It is a bit thick, but it is able to accommodate it, which is cool!

Happy note taking!

My Altered Disk Bound Notebook

I am a planner and notebook junkie, we all know that.  I was at my local Craft Warehouse, and they had a bunch of Carpe Diem planner stuff on sale.  I loved the line that The Reset Girl did and I had some of it already.  I bought more.  Then, while I was at an all day crop with Embellish It! I found a paper pack for the same line.  I bought that too.  This is what I did with some of it.

I took some of the 12x12 papers, and created covers using my laminator.  I backed the paper with some card stock to thicken it up a bit.
Then I simply cut slices up to the holes in the papers, dividers, and die cuts.  I used some Happy Planner disks that I had in my stash.
Now I have a hybrid Reset Girl-Carpe Diem/Happy Planner notebook, and it is COOL!
The pages turn excellent on these disks.  It worked out better than I had thought.
You may have wondered why I just didn't get the planner that Carpe Diem had.  Well, I wanted to try this!!!
I love the colors and the images.  I love the vintage style.
I have loved the disk bound ever since I discovered it, and now I love it even more!

Have you tried this system?

My Large Happy Notebook

My local Michaels was having a huge discount on all dated Happy Planners, getting ready for the new ones to show up.  I decided to make a project.  I loved the colors in this style, and it matched perfectly with the collection of My Minds Eye papers that I had in my stash.
I didn't need another planner, but I can always use a notebook, so I took out all of the dated pages.  Then I cut the 12x12 papers to fit, and adhered them to tiebacks of the dividers.  This covered them up, and the COLORS ARE PERFECT!!!

I had some labels from Art C that I used to cover the month names on the tabs.  Now I can label them as I need to.
 Add in some paper...
...and a pocket or two, and you have a super cool, colorful and wonderful notebook.
I used some of the scraps and my We Are Memory Keepers tab punch and made a page turner.

The notebook turned out FABULOUS!  Now to figure out what to do with the blank weekly pages!

Stay organized!

Another Arc Notebook Idea!

I made my own cover for another Arc notebook out of a sheet protector!  I covered the "spine" of the protectors with patterned paper, and repunched it.  I did that to add a bit more stability to the cover.  Then, I covered two pieces of chipboard with patterned paper and slipped it into the sheet protector.
I filled the notebook with some paper and TAA DAA!  This one is going by my bed to catch notes in as I lay there thinking, but not willing to get up!    The cool part of this idea is that I can change my covers anytime I want!  I think that's pretty neat!

Stay crafty, and organized, my friends!

Fauxdori Notebooks

I saw a wonderful video about how to make these yourself by Ray from the blog My Life All in One Place.  You can find the video here on You Tube.  These are my attempts at doing this myself.
I used some scrap pleather that I had, and since it was thin, I used spray adhesive and adhered two layers together.  It worked pretty good.  I added some charms and whatnot's that I had in my stash.
I created a notebook using scrapbook paper.
I had some elastics that I bought a zillion years ago, and didn't know what to do with…until now.
On YouTube, there are a ton of videos on these DIY notebooks…I found one lady that added an acetate page to put sticky notes on .
I added this calendar to the mix.

 Then I made a little one.  I added a 7 Gypsies book...
 …miscellaneous small notebooks I had...
…and a mini pocket "Smash" book that I had from a kit I bought.
I think they turned out super cute, and they were so easy to put together.  Check out the video and Ray's blog and see for yourself.  He also has a ton of printables available!

Stay crafty, and organized, my friends.

Craft Supply Inventory.

OK, so I made an inventory notebook for my craft supplies.

That's not weird is it?

I mean, I just got a little tired of not remembering what I had and didn't have.  Buying doubles is fine for some stuff, but not for others, you know what I mean?

I have been working on this for a couple of months.  I think I have everything in here now.  (Oh, yeah, except for all of my paper stacks and collections).  I think it is awesome.

I just have to remember to use it when making supply needs lists and to take it with me when purchasing certain things.

Here it is...TAA DAA!

I made the pages on classic sized papers, because a full size three ring notebook would have been too big to handle in the store.  I wanted to use my ARC disc binding system, but they don't make rings big enough for all of this stuff.  (I have a lot of stuff, but I have been crafting since before I can remember learning how to do it!!!)
The side tabs are the main categories.  The top sticky notes are the temporary way I am dividing the main categories.  I still have to tweak things.
The following are just examples of what's in my book.  Not only are some pages an inventory, but also a nice sample of what the product looks like.
I found a bunch of printables on the Ranger site.  Go check it out!  The link will take you to the page where there are a ton of color sheets and label sheets to print out and use to help organize your stuff.
A list of my Cricut Cartridges.  I double spaced it so that I have room to add more.
Pictures of my dies...all divided into categories of company.
I had some folders that I could not find the names of.  So, I put a sample in the book, I can use it when I shop.
I also knit and crochet.  I need the information for that also!
 Punches...
 ...Scissors...
 ...and Stamps, OH MY!
And, you have to have a washi tape collection inventory.
I made the dividers using the tutorial I found by Paper Phenomenon.  It uses the EK Success envelope maker to create the tabs.  I just cut the card stock into pieces that were 8 1/2" x 6", did the punching and cutting, and I had custom dividers for my book.  The video tutorial is here, she shows how to make half sized file folders using this technique.   I also played with the paper size she uses in the video to create her file folders.  If you use a paper that is 8 1/2" by 12" to start with, and score the fold at the 5 3/4" mark from the "bottom" of the file folder, you will get a folder that perfectly holds 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" papers.  If this is confusing, let me know, I'll show you!

What do you think?  (Not about how much stuff I have stashed in every nook and cranny of my craft room!  What do you think about my book?  HAHAHAHA!)

Stay crafty, and ORGANIZED, my friends!
