July 2024 - Inspiration Kit Reveal and Social Media Hop

Hello and Happy July! Master Forger Ryann here! I am so excited to be your host this month.

For this month's inspiration kit, I have chosen Moonlit Collection by Traci Reed. I chose this kit because July is full of summer nights and celebrations for so many of us.

It is delights of color, even in the dark -  which I love - and I hope you do too.

There are so many evening activities in the summer - camping and stargazing, fireworks for some, and camp fires, singing around them, s'mores, sunsets, and fireflies - to name a few!

Here's a look at what we get to work with.

Now I would like to introduce you to our Guest Designer for July, Lacy Stockton.

"Hi, I’m Lacy Stockton and I live in a boy’s world, married to my playful husband and we share three beautiful boys, plus my “Baby,” Zuko (our Boston Terrier) and only other female influence, a tabby cat named Paisley.  I began scrapbooking in 1998 when I purchased an idea magazine and scrap lifted every layout from the book, starting my passion for the creative, hands-on art of documenting life.  Currently, I am primarily a Creative Memories scrapper, as I love the coordinating collections, but have years’ worth of supplies that mostly remained stored until I was introduced to this group.  I am really enjoying reinventing a purpose in old supplies and combining it in ways I wouldn’t put together otherwise through the inspiration kits.  I love being involved in the challenges as I am a list maker/checker, and the challenges feel like assignments giving me criteria to complete.  I’ve only been involved for a few months and already have been excited to create layouts with old supplies that have happily found a home in a scrapbook.  I look forward to a well themed event to assure a more scrapbook content, and it’s very common for me to take a photo knowing something will match scrapbook paper I already own.  This is a photo from my “Clue” birthday party when I dressed as Mrs. White."

Let's take a look at Lacy's kit. She has this to say; "This kit was easy to feel inspired by the bold colors and fun summer ascents.  When I think of summer fun, I usually think of the bright colors of sunny activities but truly the best part of summer is being able to stay out and extend a day with family into the evenings.  I'm in the process of scrapbooking a family trip to Las Vegas where the days blended into nights with city lights and things to see at every corner.  I feel the colors will play into my Vegas vacation of swaying palm trees and exploring the hotels of the main strip."

March 2024 Forgeries on the Fourth

Today the Master Forgers are here to show you how to make your own products by using your stash.

Before we begin, let's look at the kit again

This feature is all about the fun of having a go at making up your own embellishments or re-creating the papers as a way of getting the same look as the inspiration kit even if you don't have any of the original items.

These tutorials are often so simple and easy that it really is a perfect chance to try out an idea or two. Make sure you share if you do, we love to see it when are motivated to give it a go!

Now it's time to see what our talented team have come up with - this is always such an inspiration for me. The Master Forgers often create things that would just not have crossed my mind.

Master Forger Misty was inspired by the crepe paper "ribbon" in the inspo kit. She not only recreated the ruffled ribbon in the kit, but then kept playing with crepe paper to make florals & more. You can learn how to do these yourself for just pennies over on her YouTube video.

Master forger Julene has made some floral tags using scraps of cardstock, a paint chip and patterned paper.

Master Forger Ryann wanted to get the look of the green heart paper she didn't have.  She used scraps of music note paper on her die cut machine to cut the hearts, and used one of them as a stencil to create the outline look on the paper.  She chose to use a lightly patterned green paper instead of the solid.

She also got inspired to make some of the floral cards, again, using scraps, and adding the last bits of flower stickers from several different sets she had on hand.

Master Forger Laurie came up with the idea to make some 3x4 pocket cards. She used card stock, stamps and stickers from her kit this month.

Here's what we have in store for you for the rest of the month:

4th March - Forgeries on the Fourth

6th March - Mini Kit and Project Reveal

 12th March - Challenge #1

 18th March - Challenge #2

 22nd March - Challenge #3 Let's Get Sketchy Challenge

 24th March - Follower Showcase

November 2023 – Counterfeit Kit Challenge Reveal and Hop

Master Forger of Ceremonies Lisa here, your Counterfeit Kit Challenge host for the month of November.

I’m always excited to host November as it’s my favourite month – yes really! There is so much to love about this eleventh month of the year! - and also our last kit of the year which makes it very special.

(We always change things up in December and offer a different type of inspiration for those busy days before Christmas!)

And now let’s get started….

Before we take a look at our inspiration kit I'd like you to meet our Guest Designer - a very dear member of my German scrappy circle of friends and prolific scrapper and mini-booker, Silvia Jorke! She is a creative force to be reckoned with and produces such lovely pages and mini-albums featuring everything which is important in her life – a true memory keeper and a creative inspiration.

"Hi Counterfeit Kit Community, my name is Silvia. I am 42 years old, and I live and scrapbook in Oberhausen, Germany.

My scrapbooking life contains of crafting mini albums about sightseeing trips, layouts about friends, family and special events, birthday cards, the quarterly Scrapabilly swaps with my crafty besties and much more.

In my non-scrapbooking life, I am a mathematician working as Data Scientist, a bunny mum of two fluffy cuties, a space-lover and much more.

Thanks Lisa for inviting me as November guest designer to the Counterfeit Kit Challenge. I am excited to assemble a kit based on the inspiration and create some good stuff with it this month.

Welcome Silvia – I’m excited to share this month with you!

Now, onto the inspiration kit...

I had a hard time finding a kit that really spoke to me for this pre-Christmas… autumn-ish/spring-ish (depending on where you are in the world)… entering Advent-time… coming up to winter… end-of-year time…. but in the end went for a kit that is quite festive.

However, I really believe that it can be changed up to anything you want it to be ðŸ™‚.

There are bright colours and interesting patterns included as well as a good number of embellishments to inspire.

I hope you like it as much as I do and are excited to enter the festive time of year in a gentle way or take it in a different direction – there’s a lot going on at this time of year and this kit can be adapted for whatever you need!

September 2023 - Counterfeit Kit Challenge Inspiration Kit Reveal & Hop

Wow the year is really flying by and look we're into doing September's kit already! Kids are back to school, the brrrr months are beginning and the holidays are just around the corner. It's that time of the year that Fall is coming into play here in the States but over yonder it's beginning to be a bit of Springtime so the kit I chosen should fit with either season :)

I've chosen a kit from the (Not) Just for Boys Kit Club its a retired kit from this past year. It has a bit of a masculine feel with no pink involved :) It also has a few of my favorite colors in it and some neutrals too.

This is what they say about the kit: "Combines green, teal, and purple hues, just like the Aurora Borealis, with some darker navy shades, making it perfect to document springtime moments with a masculine feel."

I'm focusing on their Main Kit:

{Not} Just for Boys Scrapbooking Kit Club - April 2023 kit - "Aurora" Limitless Kit

"Aurora" Limitless NJFB Kit includes:

  • 2-12x12 49 & Market- Serendipitous- "After the Rain" Paper

Before we take a look at our October inspiration kit, let's meet our Guest Designer, Nikki Ihus!

(Don't you love those colorful stairs?)

My name is Nikki and I am known as Nikki's Scrapbooking Adventures on YouTube and Instagram. I focus on creating layouts (12 x 12 and 8 x 8), kits and sharing techniques on my channels all while enjoying the wonderful world of scrapbooking. I have a son, 16 months, and a husband who are my main inspiration for scrapbooking.
