Sunshine!!!!!

I woke up to sunshine this morning at 38 degrees.  I always listen to the weather radio as I am making my bed.  The words ‘scattered frost’ kept popping up as the forecast was given.  I have new flowers planted and I  didn’t cover them.  I will have to check them out after a bit and see if I will have to replace them.

You can see the squirrels have been digging there.  Ornery things!!  The geraniums are bright orange although they appear red in the photo.  I couldn’t believe how expensive flowers are this year.  I have a couple of planters in the back that I will have to take a picture of.  This is all of the garden that I can have.  I am hoping my son in law’s brother plants a lot of tomatoes this year. (Hint!)

I left early this morning to go to a church sale.  Lots of good bargains there.  Then I came home and fixed a chocolate pie for tomorrow.  My daughter and SIL will be coming for lunch after church.  Roast beef, mashed potatoes and green beans on the menu with hot biscuits.

I hope you all have a lovely peaceful weekend!  Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  2. We're at 50 now with a high of 69 ahead. It's been cloudy for days...just brooding. I think if it were warmer we'd be getting quite the storm. Love you flowers but hear you on prices. Spring has been so fickle I don't know if we'll even get plants this year.

  3. Warmer here too..I have placed artificial flowers at our cemetery..they take so much care because of dry summers here. I like the look but not when they die off. Hope the flowers are okay..I agree about the squirrels..they can be such a pain. Have a great weekend Sis.. Prayers for you always, XOXO

  4. Chilly here too . . . frost for the past two mornings. I covered things, lovely sight to see sheets, tarps laced here and there throughout our plantings.
    Neighbors must wonder about me!

  12. Squirrels can cause a lot of damage with their digging. Your flowers look as if the cold didn't bother them. I, too, am looking forward to garden tomatoes!

  13. My favorites! Geraniums and chocolate pie!!! Looks like the plants survived the weather, but not sure what the squirrels were looking for. One time I thought squirrels were digging up my new plants, but it was birds. They actually dug up my tulip bulbs! Enjoy your pie with your family tomorrow. Linda@Wetcreek Blog

  16. Beth, I love your flowers there. That squirrel will probably keep digging....maybe some red pepper sprinkled around might help. The sun finally came out today, went back in and now it's out again .Hooray. xoxo,Susie

  17. Weather wise it was very schizophrenic day. As I left for work at 6:15 the rain was coming down in sheets, by noon it was 75 with nary a cloud to be seen.
    Save me a biscuit.

  23. Well that's a little bit warmer for you but not much. Hope your flowers were okay. I'm always finding peanuts buried in my beds from squirrels. Your meal sounds yummy.

  24. Geraniums are so cheerful aren't they, I've planted quite a few this year and also prefer the bright red or orange , It's usually cats that dig up our patches.
I quite fancy some roast meat and potato, yummy.bet you enjoyed it.
