Congrats to the Red Sox. They really did earn their World Series Championship title although it pains me a little bit to say so. I hope you are getting some pics of the celebration there Paul.
It is pouring rain here this morning as it did all day yesterday. We had some thunder and lightning last night and I thought the power was going for awhile. I really don’t like this kind of weather this time of year. We are expecting 2 more inches of rain today.
I was up early this morning and have already exercised. I am waiting to cool down before I have breakfast. Tomorrow morning is an appointment with the ophthalmologist. I hope I spelled that right. In plain English I am getting my eyes checked. This appointment is 6 months overdue.
I am back to going through CDs again. I sent 52 CDs to my niece in West Virginia. Can you believe I got them all in a brown envelope??
I am trying to decide what else I will do today. I also have been going through my big recipe notebook that I put together in 1998. I will be posting some recipes to my recipe site soon. So I might work on that some more today.
I hope the sun is shining wherever you are. Stay safe and be happy!!
Beth
Beth, I did not watch any of last night's game. I think Boston really needed this victory. I sure know what you are saying about maybe losing power. I just cringe when it's raining hard and we lose power...for fear of flooding in our basement. We are to have bad weather all day. Bummer. Hope you enjoy something today....you may come across a recipe to try out today. Blessings dear Beth. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteSorry about your Cardinals but I'm sure Paul is happy. Had a docots appt, yesterday. So far so good. Rainy here too but at least it's not too cold.
ReplyDeleteHi Beth! I'm with you...I hated to see the Cards lose, but the Red Sox just played better. And I also thought....If someone beats us in the WS, I'm glad it was a team who hadn't won in many years! And as far as our weather goes....About all I can say is Yuck! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteYou have really been cleaning out and getting a lot done. I am reorganizing all of my sewing stuff right now. Rain here today.
ReplyDeletewell, i was happy for the sox, even if i don't follow either team - or any sport, for that matter. :)
ReplyDeleteI saw the bad news about the Cards. :-( I thought of you immediately, It's raining here too..soon to be more so AND some strong winds. Just what I need with all my trees.
ReplyDeleteHey, we both know worse can happen than weather. Love you. Twin
It's been a cloudy day here with rain on it's way for tonight.
ReplyDeleteI watched a little of it and went to bed. I hate it that the Red Sox won but like anything else all good things come to an end. Can't wait for April to get here . I love Baseball. Blessings.
ReplyDeleteSun is shining here Beth:) Enjoy the rain. I know it has been doing so for awhile....but still, I think I miss the rain:)
ReplyDeleteThis is Florida! Of course the sun is shining – until we have a huge storm.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
my niece was very happy Boston won as well. hope your eye appointment goes good. I recently went over the summer and the last time for me was back when I was in 9th grade. So mine was way overdue! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteyou are a great sport Beth!! it's warm here today for our trick or treaters.no sun put nice and warm!!
ReplyDeleteNo sun here Beth pouring rain just like you. I have a feeling we will be eating lots of chocolate bars tomorrow:) Have a nice evening Beth. Hug B
ReplyDeleteIf it was any other team, especially the hated Yankees I would have rooted for the Cards just because of you. I'd like to correct one of your commenters. It's not that the Sox haven't won since 1918, they won in 2004 and 2007. It's the first time they won at home since 1918. They next year they traded Babe Ruth to the Yankees so the owner could finance his Broadway play "No No Nannette.
ReplyDeleteI didn't take any pictures because going into Boston last night was not a good idea, besides I fell asleep around the 6th inning and woke up at 12:10 a.m. when it was all over. I'll probably write a bit about it on my next blog, maybe tomorrow. Now if only the Patriots could win another...
I had to laugh at your comment about word verifecation on my comments on my blog... have you ever thought that sometimes after you get it wrong it gets easier!! LOL Hope your eye test went well
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog

I don't know what's going on, but I just got home and it said you posted this morning yet on my end, so to speak, it indicated that you posted around noon. I'm sorry the Cards lost. If any other team was in there especially if it was the hated Yankees (You have to be a Bostonian to understand), I would have rooted for the Cards just 'cuz of you. And to correct one of your commenters, it's not that the Sox haven't won in a long time, they won in 2004 (I'm sure you remember that) and 2007. It's the first time since 1918 that they won at home. In 1919 they traded Babe Ruth away to the Yankees so the Red Sox owner could finance a play he had on Broadway, No No Nanette.
ReplyDeleteIn full disclosure I fell asleep somewhere around the sixth inning and woke up at 12:10 a.m. during all the celebration.
By the way, I posted Monday. What's going on? Why are we having problems with each others posts?
Hey I wrote a mini blog!
Your Cardinals had a great year overall. Next year my Cincinnati Red's will beat you :) (I hope).
ReplyDeleteIt's rainy and windy here but Happy Halloween anyway!!
This post reminds me of the book by Doris Kearns Goodwin - Wait Till Next Year - that she wrote about her growing up in a family that happened to be Dodger fans back in the day when they were in Brooklyn. There was real rivalry between them and the Giants. When the Dodgers were unsuccessful, the comment, "Wait till next year," became the mantra. So - there will be another year - hopefully. Happy Halloween! xo Nellie
ReplyDeleteI bet that your niece will enjoy the CDs, Beth, how sweet of you to do that. Happy Halloween. :)

ReplyDeleteI love rainy, cloudy, dark days best of all.

your photo at the top is gorgeous. So sorry your team didn't win. At least they put up a good fight and played good games. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteBlessings Beth...
ReplyDeletesorry for not stopping by more often, no excuse really, just plain lazy. Sounds like you are feeling better. Not a sport fan so the news just goes over my ear and head, happy the fans/player are happy though, joy is a good thing.
