The papers are Basic Grey Wander. I have also used some Bazzill kraft cardstock which I have run through my Big Shot using the Tim Holtz Brickwall texture plate and then inked with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I have also added a "boom box" from a Darkroom Door stamp set and a Craftwork Cards sentiment.

The challenge over on the Basic Grey Challenge blog ends later today, but make sure you head on over their tomorrow to see their new challenge.

SJ's Little Musings Friday Freebie...

This week over on SJ's Little Musings blog it's time for another Friday Freebies, and we have another animal musing for you...June is animal month. SJ created these cute Father & Son elephants in time for you to use them for Father's Day cards...as Sunday is in fact Father's Day. I have coloured my elephants with the following Copic colours...W0/W1/W2/W3/R00. The papers are all Basic Grey "Granola" and I am almost finished my second paper pad...need to order another...LOL. I have also used the sketch over on the Basic Grey Challenge Blog, and added a stamped sentiment by Magnolia and one of my tickets.

Well David just took Georgia to school and has driven off to Liverpool to work again this weekend. He has already been up there once this week. Georgia is sad, but he is hoping to come home on Sunday afternoon and then we can take him for a Father's Day dinner. So I am left here with Georgia...at least the weather is supposed to be better over the weekend.

Be sure to check out both SJ's Blog and the Basic Grey Challenge Blog.

ETA - What a pillock I am...Father's Day is next Sunday...Thanks Zoe!

Basic Grey Challenge #1

Here is a card I made using the sketch over on the newly relaunched Basic Grey Challenges. For my card I decided to use the new "June Big" papers layered with some midnight blue (not it's proper colour name) Bazzill. I used one of my Gorjuss Girls by Sugar Nellie which has been coloured with my Copics. I also used some random ribbon and flowers, with the centre flower coming from Wild Orchid Crafts, and a sentiment by Craftwork Cards....I really love the foiled die-cut sentiments...so classy.

Last night my friend Lyns and I went to the cinema to see "The Ugly Truth" with Gerard Butler & Katherine Heigl, and it was fab, I loved it...definately one I will buy when it comes out on DVD....I even impressed Lyns by recognising Natasha Beddingfield's voice in one of the tracks in the film....we had to stay to watch the credits to see if I was right...LOL Hmmmm Gerard Butler was yummy, and so funny...strange accent but I can forgive him....he is a Brit.

Next week on Orange Wednesday we are going to see "The Proposal" starring Sandra Bullock (one of my fave Actresses).

Two Challenges in One!

This week has been a little crazy and I have been busy with other non crafting things....so have got behind with the challenges.....so a little combining is in order. This card has combined the challenge on the Basic Grey Challenge Blog to use Black, Grey and one other colour, and the sketch over on Sketch Saturday. For my main image I have used one of my favourite Miss Anya stamps anc coloured her with my new Copics.
The papers are Basic Grey "Ambrosia", so I have gone with a Black, Grey & Orange colour scheme. I have also used some Core-dinations cardstock for layering. I have used my Nesties to cut the circle and the scalloped circle, the flowers are a mixture of Prima and Craft Fairy that I have attached with spacers and PaperMania pearl brads, and intertwined is a spray of pearls that I got in the wedding section of HobbyCraft. To finish off I have added some Stampin' Up "Basic Gray" taffeta ribbon and some random orange sating ribbon from my stash, a sentiment by Craftwork Cards that I have inked the edge with chalk ink, and finally some black pearl bling.

I have also decorated the inside with the leftover scraps....as you can see below.
Thanks to the ladies over on Sketch Saturday and Basic Grey Challenges for the sketch, theme and their inspiration.

Basic Grey Challenge #32 "Sketch by Christine"

This week there is a sketch over on the Basic Grey Challenge Blog, and for my card I have used my Miss Anya stamps (I do love them...and cannot wait until the 15th when the new designs are available). I have coloured her with Copics using the following colours...
Skin: E00/E11/R20
Hair: E08
Dress: YG91/YG95
Socks: YG91/YG95
Basket of Flowers: E35/R32/R35
I am loving them...but need more practice...and a few additional colours....

The papers are Basic Grey "Porcelain" and I have layered them with Core-dinations cardstock that I have sanded the edges of. The flowers are by Prima & Craft Fairy and I have attached them with a spacer and Doodlebug sugar coated brad, finally I added a Craftwork Cards sentiment that I have coloured with chalk ink.

I have decorated the inside, but the battery ran out on my camera...so I will add the picture later.

Thanks to the DT over on the Basic Grey Challenge Blog for the sketch and their inspiration.

Basic Grey Challenge #21

I spent last night surfing and came across the Basic Grey Challenge Blog. This week they are challenging you to use patterned paper from more than one of the Basic Grey paper range, for my card I chose Ambrosia & Bittersweet. The main image on my card is Angel Angel from The Greeting Farm, and she has been coloured with Distress Inks using the following colours...
Tattered Rose (Skin)
Worn Lipstick (Hair & Blush)
Black Soot (Dress & Hair Bow)
The other items I have used are Prima Blossom, Heart Pins, and some lace and ribbon from my stash.

School went back today...which was great, let's hope we have seen the last of the snow!
