An order for 30,000 caps for the Army of the Confederate States is now being filled by Mr. John Dooley, the well-known hat and cap manufacturer of this city, and captain of the Montgomery Guard, now in camp at the Hermitage, Captain Dooley has in his employ more than thirty young ladies at his store, and a large number of the caps ordered are turned out every day. They are not gotten up in the flimsy style characteristic of similar articles of the cheating Yankee manufacture, but are made of excellent materials, and put together in the best manner. Hither to such articles have been obtained exclusively from the North, and the hot- beds of Abolitionism have grown wealthy and powerful by Southern patronage. But that day is gone forever; and when the clouds of war shall have rolled over, and the Confederate States assumed that proud position among the nations of the earth to which their unequalled resources entitle them, Richmond will become their empire city, and Virginia, throughout all her broad lands, will blossom like the rose.
